I have a new 20" IMAC. I set it up and was not able to get the camera to work. When I go to IChat the microphone enabled is checked and black but the camera enabled is checked but grey. When I go to Phone Booth it says that there is no camera or not connected. All I would like to do is take a photo of myself. PLEASE HELP

Go to Apps/Utilities/System Profiler. In the Hardware list go to USB. Does the built-in iSight show up in the USB High-Speed Bus?
If not, could be a hardware issue and you should call AppleCare to begin troubleshooting with them for possible warranty replacement/repair.

I always assummed that the mic was part of iSight (intertwined?). The mic is situated right next to iSight. It would seem to me the solutions would be the same some what.
Regarding the OP, I also suspect his/her problem is hardware. It's rather unusual for the internal mic to not work yet the iSight does.

I installed Windows 7 and everything seem to be working great! As for the built-in Camera, how would I test it, I can't see any Camera button under Computer as I alwasy used to see in Windows XP. Anyone could help?

You could try from your IM application
If you have Windows Live Messenger (when logged in) you can test it by going Tools > Audio and Video Setup
If you have skype you can test it by going Tools > Options > Video Settings

Well I notice that when I take photos and I laod them on my computer to color correct them or whatever, they are a very small size (11x8 @ 72dpi) Obviously when you up the dpi the image gets smaller, in this case when you change the dpi to 300 the picture becomes a 1x2 image. Not suitable for printing at all.
How can I change the output picture settings on the iPhone 4? On my older 3GS model it takes pictures at 28x21@ 72 dpi, and when you up the dpi to 300 it makes it roughly a 4x6. Very suitable for printing a clean picture. There has to be a way to change the settings on the iPhone 4.

I agree with randy something your doing on your computer is compressing the pictures when I open a photo taken with my iPhone 4 its 1936 X 2592 which is a huge photo it only shows me the picture at 33 percent so im not sure what your doing differently my document size is 26 inches by 36 inches if that helps

I've just got my N900 and wanted to know if you can use the secondry camera as a webcam on skype or not? Also can you download msn messenger or similar and still use the webcam?

There is a full MSN client called amsn, but I recommend against using it at the momen, mainly because it is not optimised for Maemo5 on the N900 and could cause problems with file systems filling up..
You can use telepathy-haze to integrate MSN, AIM and others into the built in conversations and contact apps.. It's seamless..

When we are trying to correct the red eye problems from photos taken from my dads Sony point and shoot camera iphoto's automatic red eye option isn't enabled. We tryed to fix this by upgrading to the latest version of iphoto but the problem persists- the autocorrect for the red eye won't click. We are feeling ripped off because it should work. Right?

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If the red eye correction works OK in the new library do the following on your original library: make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.

Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How do you get the two step security to work with virtual machines running under parallels?

I use Quickbooks running on a virtual PC under Parallels. I have always have Quickbooks interface with Thunderbird on the PC side to email invoices to customers using my apple email account.
Once I switched to two-step verification security, Apple doesn't recognize the "new" computer trying to access my mail account, but it also doesn't send any kind of code to a second device to authorize the access.
For now, I've had to switch back to the traditional security and the above process immediately works again 9without asking me any security questions).
Is there a way to have Apple recognize the virtual PC (or any other non-Mac computer) with two-step verification security?

How do you get the Warp Stabilizer VFX to work in After Effects CC?

Upon launching the Warp Stabilizer VFX an error message appears: "After Effects error. Couild not launch Adobe Analysis Server. (515) (25 101)" Am running MAC OSX 10.9.2 An error message also appears on launching After Effects CC: "Quicktime is not installed on the system. Some components will not work correctly." This OS is supposed to have Quicktime installed. Has anyone had this same problem with the warp stabilizer and been able to solve it? I am restoring old movies and this function is essential.

You need to check your user permissions and firewall network stuff. Something is simply blocking the connections.

I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.
