How do you get the hot keys / keyboard shortcuts to work?

I have the free trial version of Photoshop. I am new to Photoshop, I am just starting to learn how to use it. I notice that some of the shortcuts/hot keys don't work.
For example, one basic hot key that does not work is the F7-key. The F7-key opens and closes the layers palette.
Another hot key that does not work is the spacebar. My teacher taught me to hold the spacebar down when you want to move the canvas around. When I am in handtool mode I hold the spacebar down, I then apply pressure on my laptops touchpad, I then slide my finger across my laptops touchpad in order to try and move the canvas, but the canvas does not budge.
Some shortcuts work. For example, tapping the F-key multiple times will expand and reduce the size of Photoshop.
Closing my web browser did not resolve the problem. Updating the software did not resolve the problem.
I am eager to learn Photoshop, but it's hard, and probrably a waste of time, to try and learn Photoshop when some of the softwares hot keys don't work. Anyone have a solution they can offer?

I use the Apple Wireless Keyboard with my iPad2 and I use the VPN to connect to my work-related software which requires that I use some of the function keys as actual F1, F2, F3,...etc. When I hit F2, the iPad2 responds with the Screen Brighter action. How do you get the video out to TV to work on the iPhone 3GS

I cannot get the video out to TV to work on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 5.1.1.
I am using the $40.00 apple composite AV cables and nothing seems to work. With the cables connected to tv input nothing shows up in general settings for video out. Or anywhere else for that matter. I have tried many different TV's, sometimes I get audio but never never ever video . Does anyone else have this problem or better yet the answer?

But, i do know what was wrong now. The whole problem was the brand new $40.00 set of apple composite AV cables i just bought was no good. This afternoon i took a trip to the nearest apple retail outlet (30 miles away) with phone and cables in hand. And after doing a little head scratching of their own they decided to try another set of cables, and low and behold the darn thing worked like a charm.I was very impressed by the service at the apple store even though i didnt buy either product from them. I wonder if there is a bad batch of cables floating around out there because it looks like other people out there are having the same problem, which is why i didnt really suspect the cables. There are phone companies that do only allow tethering with more expensive rates. Would have to talk with your company to see if your phone can rate tethering.

How do you get the polar plot VI's to work correctly?

I have the data in a file and can see the correct data when placed on a smith chart, but not on the polar plot. It looks like it is mirrored on the Polar plot.

There are a couple of examples hat come with LabVIEW that might help you. They can be found under Help >> Examples >> Advanced >> Picture Control >> "Polar Plot" and "Simple Smith Plot". As a way of comparing the two different plots, I had them plot the same data points. It looks like if you have a lot of data points with a lot variability then you want to use the Polar Plot. How do I get the fn key on the aluminum keyboard to work like Insert under Windows without having to press fn + Enter?

I'm not sure if you even read the first couple of posts at all. On the old Apple Pro Keyboard (white keys and translucent body), pressing the Help key resulted in exactly the same key code as the Insert key on any standard (IBM) PC keyboard. This meant that regarding this key, that Mac keyboard will work just like a PC keyboard. (I don't care much about the other keys.)
The problem is that on the current Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (white low-profile chicklet keys, ultra-slim aluminum body), the Help key is now called fn and produces a different key code than the old Help key, so that you have to press fn + Enter (on the numerical keypad) to get Insert.

Do you understand what I mean? It's not a software thing, it's a hardware issue in the Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, because fn is a hard-coded, not software-controlled modifier key. I have no idea if there is even a way to get around that, and that is what I am trying to find out.

I do not have any problem with using shift registers in timed loops. What version of LabVIEW are you using? Can you please elaborate on why neither shift registers or local variables meet your needs? I have attached a VI that saves a previous iteration and then computes and displays the difference. Let me know if you have problems running it.

What nationality keyboard? On a UK Qwerty kb with an iMac it is Shift 2: @ - does that not work on a MBAir?
Check System Preferences>Keyboard>Keyboard tab, tick 'Show keyboard & Character viewer in the menu bar', then select 'Show Keyboard Viewer' from the menu bar, press the Alt/Shift/Control keys and it should show where all the various characters are located.

There is no serial number require for Creative Cloud products, you may activate the products using your email address and password which is associated with Adobe. If your Dreamweaver asking for serial number, then make sure you are signing in with correct email address.

There is no Windows side on a Mac unless you install a version of Windows in a virtual machine or use Boot Camp to partition the drive and install Win 7 (if you are using a Macbook Pro that came with OS X Lion installed).
If you use a virtual machine you can install just about any version of Windows that you have a retail disc of and a legal license key to go with it.

Once pictures are moved from your camera to your iPad (using the camera connection kit), how do you get the photos off of the iPad? They do not show up in my photo stream or my iCloud. I am able to see any photo I took on the iPad using the iPad camera (in iTunes, photo stream, or when I open windows explorer and browse the iPad director), however I cannot see any photos transfered from my camera to the iPad. The camera connection kit must have put my photos in a directory I cannot get to and cannot sync.
