i recently tried to login to my ipod and it disabled me completely from it. The last time i tried to login in it showed a message "iPod is disabled connect to iTunes" so naturally i went to connect to itunes to fix this. Itunes will not recognize the ipod as being plugged in to the computer, and when you try to turn it on or hook it up it stays on the connect to itunes screen. i tried doing the trick where you hold in the home and sleep buttons until the apple logo comes up, but it just keeps going back to that screen. can anyone help me? thanks a ton!

today i tried to update my ipod touch through i tunes. unfortunately it became disconnected and now is stuck on the connect to itunes screen. itunes doesnt now recognise my ipod and ive tried switching the ipod off then on again and holding both buttons at the same time but nothing works. i even tried deleting i tunes then reloading it but that didnt work either. does anyone out there know how to sort out my ipod? im so worried.

Just do the update on your syncing computer. All the items should be in your iTunes library or, for synced photos, on the computer. The items will be synced back to the iPod during a latter stage of the update.

I've also noticed that when I'm turning my ipod off and it get to the power down screen, the touch screen is unresponsive.

Try restorng the iPod to factoery defaults/new iPod. If still have the problem you very likely have a hardware problem. If you have an Apple store nearby, I would make an appointment at their Genius Bar.

How do you keep your ipod apps after updating to the 4.0 upgrade?

I first backed up my iPod touch to keep all of my apps. Then I updated it to 4.0, when I got finished it didn't have any of my apps except the original ones from the iTouch. So I went to click restore from back up and it said that the 4.0 update would go away if I restored from backup. So how do I keep my apps and the update? I have bought some of the apps and do not think it would be fair to re buy them.

No, a backup won't do anything, you need to check your sync settings and then re-sync.
1- Connect your Touch to iTunes
2- Verify that your App sync preferences are set correctly
3- Verify that all your other sync preferences (Music, Video, Podcast) are set correctly
4- Click Apply if you made any changes, or click Sync to initiate a sync w/o any changes.
Assuming the missing Apps are in your iTunes, they should be added to your Touch after you re-sync.
