How do you information from iMac G4 to new iMac Intel?

I just ordered the new iMac Intel and want to know how to get all the information, files, etc. (especially photos) from my old iMac G4 to the new iMac via an external Hard Drive (which I have also just ordered).
iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

You can use the Migration Assistant to transfer the data over; this will appear the first time you turn on the machine, and doesn't require the external hard disk. To use the external hard disk to transfer the data, follow the instructions below.
Connect the hard disk to your computer, and then choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Enter ~ as the folder's location, and then press the Command key and the Up arrow on the keyboard simultaneously. You should then see a folder with a house icon on it; drag this to the external hard disk. On the new iMac, hook up the hard disk and verify that you can open this folder in the Finder. Next, open the Users folder on the internal hard disk and note down the name of the folder with the house icon. Rename this to something else and then drag the folder you placed on the external hard disk to the Users folder with the original name of the folder with the house icon.

  • How do you download from iphone to a new pc itune's

I recently had my pc stolen. I purchased a new one and load itune's 8. I'm on a 64 bit operating system. I have tons of pics and ringtones that I don't want to lose on my iphone 3g. Is there a way to download from the iphone so that when I sync to my new pc's itunes folder, I don't wipe out all of m saved info. I already ported in my Apps and the current pics. I need to get the stuff that I saved from my old pc off of the iphone to my new pc. Thanks for all of your help...Devyne

When you plug the phone into the computer with or without iTunes installed, vista recognizes the iPhone as a camera. Simply go into widows explorer and copy all the photo's off the iPhone and put them on your PC.
I don't know about ringtones, but I would suspect that they would be like music, which cannot be copied off the phone onto the computer (one-way sync only)

I'm not sure I understand the distinction your making betweewn "from one mobile to another" and "from one mobile FOR another". If you have music on your Samsung, transfer it to your computer, add it to iTunes and sync it to your computer.

You cannot copy or migrate Adobe applications from computer to computer. There are a whole host of files in different locations which have to be installed, and copying will not do it.
In fact, you'll now have to use the Adobe Cleaner tool to remove the mess you created. You can get to it here:

Are you using one of the newer iMac's with no DVD drive? If so, you can either get an external CD/DVD drive (any make - doesn't have to be Apple) or, if you have another Mac on the same network that has a CD/DVD drive you may be able to do it by turning on 'DVD or CD Sharing' on that Mac (System Preferences>Sharing). Hopefully you'll see the disk on the Mac without the DVD drive and be able to install from there.

  • How can you upgrade from OS 10.4

How can you upgrade from MAC 10.4.4

    Backup your computer.
    Buy Snow Leopard.
    Boot from Snow Leopard DVD.
    Erase the hard drive.
    Install Snow Leopard.
    To get Snow Leopard:
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    To upgrade further see:
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
It would appear that the HP Photosmart Plus 209B is not compatible with AirPrint. Without AirPrint you can only print via an App.

unless you're sharing very large files, speed will be more or less the same using any of the above connections.

you can also use firewire Target Disk Mode.
