How do you interpret the graphs in resource monitor in Server 2012?

I cannot find what the green area verses the blue line mean in the resource monitor. I have search the internet for quite some time and only find what the definition of terms are. At first I though the blue line was peak measurements and the
green was average. However, some times the blue is lower than the green.
So what does blue Vs green mean?

Not sure what you are asking. What is being displayed is labeled in Resource Monitor. If you went into Perfmon you would be able to monitor the exact same things, only you could actually select the color. As with Perfmon, the values reflect an average
over the sample period. By default, Resource Monitor has a sample period of 1 second. You will also notice that the labels by the green and blue are different, indicating they are measuring different counters. For example, on the networking, the green is measuring
network IO rate and the blue is measuring percent of network utilized.

This is pretty common scenario. The best way to achieve this is to split your servers using a collection and deploy a different client settings. You could target your collection using the OS or an OU in AD. There are many option there.
You could also limit the access to the Server collection using Role Based Access to avoid any human "errors" on these collections. Users without rights to these collection just won't see them.

How can you retrieve the GRPNO and SRVID in a server?

Is there a way within a server (e.g. in tpsvrinit) of retrieving the -g and -i
parameters passed to the server at startup? (these are visible if you use the
"tmboot -d1" option). We have multiple instances (over 100) of servers that use
the same executable, but we are unable to determine which messages in the ULOG
come from which server (as there is no means of tying the pid to the group/server
id). What we would like to do is display a message at startup that gives the
group id and server id, and also include this info in subsequent ULOG messages.
Any and all suggestions will be gratefully received!

you might want to try using the MIB_SELF flag while calling the MIB for the T_SERVER
class.

How do you interpret the circular Satellite Displa...

On my Nuron I've a GPS Position app. In it I can get a bar chart of satellites the Nuron can find. I can also see these satellites in a "Satellite Display" chart. this has two circles, and the satellites are positioned all over them -- not just in rings. Further, there is a sun and moon, along with a N-E-S-W postion on the circles.
I'm told that this represents orbits for the satellites, but the explanations don't add up for me. If these are orbits, why aren't the positions constrained to circles, and why is a coordinate (NESW) set up for a flat map?

I agree that the satellites go across the display in orbital paths. I've tracked this off-and-on for the entire morning. Because they don't go around in sinusoidal paths, it is entirely likely that the display is that 45 degree, etc., situation you described.
What I don't understand is what the Nuron display is doing with the Sun and Moon positions. All this morning it had the Sun creeping up the right outermost circle, from the 4 o'clock to the 2 o'clock positions. Then around 11:30 the sun position changed to the 5 o'clock position, going the other way.
The moon position (I'm near new moon, so it ought to follow the sun position) is still at 2 o'clock, but I expect it to transit the face of the display until it joins the sun position around the 7 o'clock position later on.
Oh, well...

How do you operate the Firewall in Mac OS X Server 10.9.4

I recently upgraded to Mavericks Server - Overall the performance seems excellent but I miss some of the configuration options available in earlier versions.
The firewall is extremely confusing to me as I have come across many articles on how to "activate it" "de-activate" it etc.
How to whitelist/blacklist hosts.
BUT they are all dated a few years ago and don't seem to have kept up to date with 10.9.4
Can someone please advise :-
a) How you turn on the firewall - Security? Or Commands given by Apple
b) How to whitelist/blacklist hosts

Quick question - my #1 known threat is the obscene amount of spam we get - mostly from the usual suspects.
From what I have read the best way to stop this is to go to the "Stop Blocks" list and update the _blacklist group(?)
I will be entering the CIDR information for each spammer I would like to shut down.
I notice that unlike the old Server Admin app there seems to be no way to sort my blocks by the CIDR address (and thereby find it easy to keep track of my blocks and not duplicate etc.)
Am I missing something? Is there an easy way to do this?

How do you change the Event Viewer archive location in Server 2008 R2?

We're wanting to redirect the security and system event viewer logs to the D:\ on a Server 2008 R2 box
We've got the current logs to save there, however all archived system/security logs are still being saved on the c:\ in their default location in %windir%\system32... and killing the OS partition.
I can write something up in PoSh and schedule it, but I'd rather use any built-in capabilities first...
I've taken a peek in the HKLM\Services\CurrentControlSet... hive where the event viewer behavior is configured and do not see an option to set a path for the archive location...

Unfortunately, you cannot customize the location of archived event logs in Windows. The logs will always be archived to %windir%\system32\Winevt\Logs\Archive-xxxxxx

How do you get the "%" sign to show up in graphs?

When I have a percentage in a cell, like "50%", and chart it, it shows up in the graph as ".5". How do you make the label of the graph to show up as "50%"?

Welcome to Numbers discussions.
In a pie chart you'll see the percent sign, %, not in bar charts. If you want it to read 50% you may want to put in a text box then to that add 50%, that's what I do. If there's a better way I hope someone else will jump in here.

We have Oracle 10.2 and Windows 2003.
We have Oracle on Cluster (with Windows software).
When the System are without cluster all its OK!!!!!!
We have 2 Resources Cluster Group: Oracle and Applications.
We have Oracle in Oracle cluster group.
We have W Drive and a ftp program in Application cluster group.
We have C drive in both nodes. We have installed Oracle in both nodes but we have W drive only associate to the Active Node because is a Cluster resource (Application cluster group).
All days we receive text files by ftp and we put it on W Drive. This text files are readen with external tables in Oracle.
We have a problem when oracle fails and it goes to the another node (for ex. node2) because the external tables fail because the files are on Node1 on W Drive. If we move manually Applications cluster resource to Node2 then all it is OK.
We think to put UNC pathes instead of W but its not possible (Metalink: Note:290703.1)
How do you configure the server in this situation?????????????

We run a similar configurations and i doubt you have a chance other then reconfigure your setup. The way we do it is to have an ftp client in our database group and periodically transfer the files a second time (not elegant but it's working).
If that's not an option you might be able to use unc names in your ftp server and set the ftp root to a directory hosted on a disk which is part of the database group.
Or move to unix (that's what we do now). Than you don't have to bounce your server once in a month to apply security patches...

I have a hyperlink in a grid panel. I am using
hyperlink1.setText("Hello"); in prerender(),
but the Hyperlink shows up with the text "Hyperlink", whereas I was expecting "Hello". However,
hyperlink1.setUrl("http://www.usf.edu"); works as expected.
I tried nesting a static text in the hyperlink as suggested in the Creator guide (ed 2, Google project). I deleted the "Hyperlink" text in the properties editor but then the page turned out blank.

Currently using a PCI-6052E with Mac OS, how do you change the resolution accuracy? In other words from say
0-10V full scale for an AI to 0-1V full scale?

Here is the information that you should follow when using DAQ with a Macintosh. I'm not sure whether you are using LabVIEW or some other programming language, so the two main references that you should refer to are the NI-DAQ Software Reference Manual for Macintosh and the LabVIEW Data Acquisition VI Reference Manual. Both of these resources are excellent sources of information and will explain to you anything you need to know about programming DAQ on a Macintosh.
The NI-DAQ Software Reference Manual for Macintosh can tell you how to configure things such as Analog Input Mode (differential, RSE, NRSE), Range, Polarity, Analog Output Range, P
olarity, Voltage Source, etc. Even reading just the first chapters of either of the above mentioned reference manuals should have you on your way.

How do you customize the toolbar in Windows XP? When I right click on the menu bar the "Customize..." option is there but it does absolutely nothing.
Which brings me to the rhetorical question as to why it was necessary to shuffle everything around, was it broken? Did it not work? Since 2006 I've moved my mouse pointer almost instinctively to the left side of the screen, now all of a sudden I have to go right, is there a point?
This is like supermarkets that as soon as you have figured out where everything is, they shuffle everything around and now you are stuck in mystery shopping. At least they have economic reasons. Meanwhile Firefox seems disposed to make itself look more like Chrome, but hey if I wanted Chrome I'd get it.

Nope... Thanks, but Safe Mode does not do the trick. Oh sure you can move the buttons around and rearrange things to your liking, unfortunately it does not stay that way once you get out of Safe Mode.
I guess if you use an XP machine you are doomed to use FF's interpretation of what it should look like, which is ass backwards from what it has been for the past FIVE YEARS!!! Why not? It seems XP users are now the Freddo's of computing.

It might be the pixel grid if your zoomed in greater than something like 500% to 700%.
Go under View>Show and uncheck Pixel Grid.
Or maybe you have a layer style set in the tool options bar for shape layers.
