How do you know new HH5 configuration installed?

Hi,
I've been monitoring the TR069 logs on my HH5 for the last week or so for the 'fix'. I've not spotted the download, although the hub has seemed a little more stable.
I did notice overnight that there had been a couple of reboots as stated in the 'system' section of the event log and I still get the regular "Set Parameter by TR069 Success" in the TR069 log (as can be seen from a couple of extracts from these logs below):

I just wondered whether there is anyway to tell from the behaviour in the logs that the fix has been applied?
Many thanks,
Damian

Well after all the 'parameter' messages, just had another reboot which seems to relate to the router attempting a connection to somewhere.
It wouldn't be so bad but when you are in the middle of a VPN connection to you rmployer it can brick some of your work stored on the company's server what you are working on.  Frustrating.

I currently run the Design and Web Premium CS6 on a first generation MacBook Air and want to buy a new MacBook Pro. How do I know whether I can install my Adobe programs onto the new computer? Because I know there is some kind of limit.
Also, I had to install the software twice on my same computer before because I had to reboot the computer. I don't know if this affects the limit.

You are allowed to have two activated installations so there should not be a problem having working installations on the two machines.  If by chance you have somehow tied up two activations for the one machine you can have Adobe support help resolve that thru chat.

How do you know if you have more than one graphics card installed? My MacBook Pro does not provide a connectivity to TV via HDMI.

You can go to <http://support.apple.com/specs/#macbookpro> find your Mac's technical specs.
Depending on what kind of video output port you have, you should be able to get an adapter to HDMI.  For example a Mini Display Port to HDMI (I have one of these).

Apple has diagnosed it and told you the battery needs to be replaced.

  • How do you know if your Iphone app is connecting to the internet?

I'm a brand new Iphone user and I have a question about apps.  I only have the smallest data plan.  I'm wondering how do you know if your app (or any app you download) once opened connects to the internet?
For instance I have a Netflix subscription.  When I hit the Netflix app is that connecting to the internet?  When I watch a movie or tv in my own que is that still on the internet?
Or what about the Kindle app or iBooks?  Is it on the internet to read?
Those are just two small examples.  I'm having a hard time figuring out which apps to download based on if they connect to the internet for their use.

As a general rule, if the app stores all of its data locally on your phone, a data connection is not needed for that app to function properly. If the app does not store data locally on your phone...streaming apps(Netflix), the built in Maps app, etc., a data connection will be required for the app to function properly. You can minimize your cellular data usage by only using such apps when connected to available WiFi. You also have the ability to turn cellular data completely off in settings: Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data>Off. Best to completely read an apps description before installing such on your phone. If a data connection is required for the app to function, it will state such in the app's description.

  • How do you know what week your macbook was made?

I am very concerned about the discoloration on my new macbook and I have heard that if it was made before a certain week that apple will not fix the problem, so I would like to know what week my macbook was made.

Quick question, how do you know if you have the "new batch" (the units that solve the discoloration and heat problems)?
They had to customize mine because they didn't have any already "configured-to-order" in stock. I should get it in 5-6 business days. Does that mean mine is coming off the new batch?

Why mess with this? Well, I got the HDDs and the enclosure from my previous PPC, so I'd like to make use of it all without $pending again.
I don't see any problems with using the card and drives on your new Mac. Hardware is too pricey to just leave behind if you can't help it. With the new drivers I suspect you'll be able to use your drives, I just don't think you'll be able to boot from them if the interface card requires drivers. They should still be very fast storage devices, and probably reliable due to the ongoing support the vendor has provided.
I went through the same type of issue when I bought my Dual G4 1.42 Tower (upgraded from a Quadra 840AV ). Several of my devices were SCSI (I was into SCSI Wide/Fast drive arrays at the time for video capture), and I was able to use an Adaptec card for scanning for several years with Jaguar and Panther. I'd spent quite a bit of cash to ensure high quality and performance and didn't want to loose all of the investment. Eventually the SATA hard drives and other USB and Firewire replacements became so cheap and performance improved enough that loosing SCSI with Tiger was not a big deal. I do think I should get about 5 years of hardware compatibility with most products and I keep older Mac's around for dedicated services as long as they aren't a costly maintenance issue.

  • How do you recommend a JE configuration according to app. construction?

    Hi to all,
When we use JE as following configuration, CPU utilization is consistently high ans sometimes low.
How do you recommend a JE configuration according to application construction?
Our Application and use of JE configuration is as follows.
    - App. logic and JE usage as following;
Application creates 4 Environments(each one has data-store-Database for class-store-Database). Environments are not linked to each other, completely independent.
    App. executes concurrent non-transactional 1600 inserts(Database.put), 1600 updates(Database.put) and 1600 deletes(Database.put) in a second ( It means 1600/4 inserts, 1600/4 updates, 1600/4 deletes for one environment)
Also using SerialBinding to store app. object that implements java.io.Serializable.
Environment.sync method called 1 time in minutes.
Insert-Update objects are the same and size of the object approximately 500 bytes-1 K.
%80 of inserted records will be updated 1 time in one second and than deleted in a 5 seconds.
%20 of inserted records will be updated 10 times in 28,5 hours and than deleted.
    We have 50 GB disk space, totally 24 cpu with model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5675 @ 3.07GHz
    - Our JVM settings as following;
    -Xmx33g
    -Xms33g
    -XX:+UseParNewGC
    -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC
    -XX:CMSInitiatingOccupancyFraction=50

When we use JE as following configuration, CPU utilization is consistently high ans sometimes low.Do you consider this a problem? Or are you just asking for general tuning advice? Normally, high CPU utilization is considered to be a good thing.
    Some additional questions:
    * What version of JE are you using? If you are writing a new app, be sure to use JE 5.0.
    * What is the total/maximum size of your data set?
    * What is the key size (byte length)? (I see the data size is 0.5 to 1.0 KB)
    * Are there no read operations?
    * You mention throughput numbers (for example "%80 of inserted records will be updated 1 time in one second"). Is this a goal, or the measured value in your test, or both?
    A couple initial comments:
    * Calling Environment.sync is not appropriate for durability in JE 5.0, and will negatively impact performance. Instead use Environment.flushLog.
    * Using multiple Environments in a single process is not recommended for maximum write performance. A single Environment with a shared cache (EnvironmentConfig.setSharedCache(true)) will result in better write throughput, because all writes are appending to the same log file and disk head movement is minimized.
    * You may see better performance by using the DPL (persist package) or a custom binding, rather than SerialBinding. In general, if you find you are CPU-limited, take several thread dumps during this period too see if most threads are executing in the same place.
Performance tuning is an iterative process. Be sure to try only one change at a time to determine whether the impact is positive or negative.

  • How do you know if the iPhone...

How do you know if the iPhone that I bought new in fact it is a refurbished product?
Since I upgraded to the latest version of IOS, is worse. The wi-fi does not work anymore, 3G network makes it even more hard to get, some apps that should work, close or take a long time to load, even the screen to make phone calls has long recharge times. Do you have suggestions? Thank you!
Avete suggerimenti? Grazie!

Hi, thank you for having responded to me so quickly. Excuse me instead for the delay with which you answer.
I tried "lifetime" or a similar word in my preferences panel but I could not find. I have the software in Italian.
I attach screens. You see something that might look like the "lifetime"? Thank you very much!

  • How do you know the best iMac display size

how do you know the best iMac display size
Only on them fits in the screen window and that makes the font so tiny.  The others are too wide or too tall.  I usually view at 150 - 200% for vision issues.

You say it's better to do the Media Browser?  I'm fairly new to movie, dvd and garage band.  How would I go about using the Media Browser instead of straight to iDVD?
Select Your project - go up to Share - Share to Media Browser and as Large (Not HD)
In iDVD select a nice theme - click on Media button - click on Movie - Select Your movie.
NOW - Save as a DiskImage - and test this before burning DVDs - if this Plays OK then either burn the Image by using Disk Util tool (and set down burn-speed to x4) - or burn via iDVD (will take more time)
I want to keep as much quality as I can.
Then don't use iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - as they all discard every second line resulting in less quality on the DVD. I use iMovie HD6 or FinalCut any version.
Also...I tried to split my project in iMovie...but couldn't find a way.  I wound up just making a copy and then deleting out a handful of scenes from the copy...I still have the original at 4:12hrs.  Is there a way in iMovie to split a project?
I would make a copy and cut away a bit from the end - calling this Part 1 and from start of the other copy Part 2.
OR - there are other programs that can squees in more to a DVD e.g. Roxio Toast™ - BUT this has two cons.
    • It costs - to me it was well spent mony as it can so much more e.g. back engineer a DVD to an editable form
    • Squeesing in more on a DVD - costs in QUALITY - and as You want as much as it can be - then 90 minuts portions encoded with Pro-Quality encoding and full quality interlasced material from a video-editor that delivers this is the way to get 100% of what DVDs can do.
DVD is as standard only SD-Video - HD not possibly. Then You need Blu-Ray. (also Roxio Toast™)
