How do you know what version of itunes I have

I keep trying to update to the 10.5 version of itunes and my computer says that I am completely updated. When I try to plug my iphone4S it says it can not be supported if I dont update to the newest version of itunes. Help please

Choose About iTunes from the Apple menu. If it reveals that you're running an older version of iTunes and Software Update says it's up to date, put it back in the Applications folder and make sure it's named exactly iTunes or iTunes.app.

Help > About iTunes.  This will bring up a window with a scrolling display of your iTunes version and other information.
If you don't see a Help menu, first use CTRL+B to enable the menu bar.

Trying to download music from windows laptop...says my iPad iTunes needs to be version 11.1 or higher...how do I download latest version and how do I know what version I have?

To find out what version you have, click on Help > About iTunes.
To get the latest version, go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • How do you know what version of iTunes you have?

I need to know! How do I find this out?

Look for the HELP tab when you have iTunes running. Click on help then scroll down to "About iTunes"
Your Version number will pop up and driver versions will scroll bottoms up.
If you don't have version 6, back up your music/iTunes and go for it. I went from 4.7 to 6.0 last night. Other posters have said to turn off Norton and firewalls to avoid problems.

  • How do you know what version Mac OSX is on ANOTHER drive?

How do you know what version Mac OSX is on ANOTHER drive without starting that drive
and seeing the system profiler? In fact, because the drive wont start up, Now I am wondering if it is pre-intel. ? CMD-I doesn't do it. Thanks

Why mess with this? Well, I got the HDDs and the enclosure from my previous PPC, so I'd like to make use of it all without $pending again.
I don't see any problems with using the card and drives on your new Mac. Hardware is too pricey to just leave behind if you can't help it. With the new drivers I suspect you'll be able to use your drives, I just don't think you'll be able to boot from them if the interface card requires drivers. They should still be very fast storage devices, and probably reliable due to the ongoing support the vendor has provided.
I went through the same type of issue when I bought my Dual G4 1.42 Tower (upgraded from a Quadra 840AV ). Several of my devices were SCSI (I was into SCSI Wide/Fast drive arrays at the time for video capture), and I was able to use an Adaptec card for scanning for several years with Jaguar and Panther. I'd spent quite a bit of cash to ensure high quality and performance and didn't want to loose all of the investment. Eventually the SATA hard drives and other USB and Firewire replacements became so cheap and performance improved enough that loosing SCSI with Tiger was not a big deal. I do think I should get about 5 years of hardware compatibility with most products and I keep older Mac's around for dedicated services as long as they aren't a costly maintenance issue.

  • How do you know what version methods became available ?

A reply to another one of my posts informed me that String.replaceAll did not become available until version 1.4.
How could I find out what version methods became available?
    I think I'm experiencing a similar situation with String.ValueOf.
    Thanks in advance.

If you look at the API docs for the version you have (you're on 1.2, right? shudder) then everything in there is available in your version.
Some methods, but not all, have a "Since" section that say when it became availalbe. For instance, [url http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#replaceAll(java.lang.String, java.lang.String)]String.replaceAll says "Since 1.4".
String.valueOf's various signatures have been around for a long time, I think. Note that it's v, not V.

  • How do I know what version my iTunes is?

Also how do I update iTunes?

In itunes click on Help and choose 'about iTunes' which will show you which version you have.
On the same list is 'check for updates', click that.
They do advise of an update to iTunes but they don't tell everyone at once about it (presumably to stagger the hit on their servers) so quite often you may see someone on here talking about an update you have not yet been advised of.
You'll also be advised of an update to the OS for the iPhone usually the first time you connect the phone to itunes after a new release.  You get the option to download and install or download alone to install at a more convenient time.

  • How do i know what version of iPhoto i have?

I saw a post that says to open iPhoto and then click on the About. There is no such thing when I open my iPhoto. I'm ultimately trying to open an invitation to a Photo Stream file which that doesn't work for me either even after I've updated my Mac to the latest version. I'm so frustrated! Any help is appreciated thanks!

Launch iPhoto - at the top there is an "apple" menu then an iPhoto menu - under the iPhoto menu is "about iPhoto - it should e version 9.5.1 if you do have the latest version
To turn on PhotoStream go to the system preferences (under the "apple" menu and log into iCloud and then in the iPhoto preferences (again under the iPhoto menu) set your desired PhotoStream preferences  --  see the PS FAQs for more information - iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ

I am not a Safari user.  Ask in the Safari community.
/Library/Preferences - trash the com.apple.plugin.settings.java.plist file, repair permissions and restart the computer.  Empty the trash.

how do you see what version of PDK you are using?
I'd like to know where I can look to see the full version number and understand what version I am on.

The Release Notes document (pdk.release.notes.html) contains the version information.

  • How do you know what generation your iPod touch is?

I have just bought an iPod Touch - my first iPod of any type.  How do you know what generation it is? There is nothing on the packaging and the only clue in the 'About' screen appeared to be the version 4.3.3.  I am trying to purchase a universal dock adapter and need to know the generation in order to get the right one.

Why do apple refer to the products by generation and then not actually include that information on the product?
    beats me.
you can inform Apple of your displeasure by leaving a comment via iPod Touch Feedback.

  • How do you know the version of a JAR file ?

how do you know the version of a JAR file ?
is it what is written on MANIFEST.MF ?
for example i have a JAR file
    whose MANIFEST.MF has this
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Ant 1.4.1so, whats the version of this JAR ? 1.0 ?

    anyway, that was JSTL..jar.
Now, come to another JAR file....
    whose MANIFEST.MF has......
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Apache Ant 1.5.1
    Extension-Name: Struts Framework
    Specification-Title: Struts Framework
    Specification-Vendor: Apache Software Foundation
    Specification-Version: 1.1
    Implementation-Title: Struts Framework
    Implementation-Vendor: Apache Software Foundation
    Implementation-Vendor-Id: org.apache
    Implementation-Version: 1.1
    Class-Path:  commons-beanutils.jar commons-collections.jar commons-dig
    ester.jar commons-logging.jar commons-validator.jar jakarta-oro.jar s
truts-legacy.jarso, How do you believe whats the version now ? do u go with the comment "Manifest-Version: 1.0" or "Specification-Version: 1.1" ?
definitely, you would go with the "Specification-Version: 1.1" and declare this JAR as STRUTS 1.1
hmmm, so, if nothing is mentioned like above should we follow the MANIFEST version as the JSTL version ? in my earlier example i did not find any comment on ""Specification-Version" ......so , if anybody gives me that JAR , how do i decide whether its 1.0 specification or 1.1 specifucation compliant ?
can you tell whats the JSTL version of my earler example JAR file ?
