Hi,
When I use to have a PC, I could lock at doc as read only. I see no version of this in pages and no vids onling showing how. any ideas?
Yes, I know how to lock the dock so it can't even be opened without a password, but as you read above you see tha I am speaking of something completly different.
Current version of pages.

It locks automatically when you hold it to your head.
If it fails to do this, then remove the case and see if it solves it.
If it does not, then do the basics - restart, reset, restore.
If that does not solve it, then make an appointment at the genius bar.

I want to force a student to communicate using an ipad communication app. I want the only thing on the screen to be that one app. How do I lock the app so it is the only one that can be used on the ipad? Is there a way to lock a page? ie when he has navigated to the correct page to prevent the child from exiting and make him make a choice from that page?

You can lock an iPad to a given app via Guided Access:

To try and lock a web browser to a single page you'll need to investigate third-party browsers such as MobiCIP or the McGruff browser and see if they allow you to lock to a single page. Safari in iOS 6 or earlier has no controls and in iOS 7 allows you to restrict to a given site or set of sites but not to a single web page.

If you mean the lock next to the signal strength in the pulldown menu that appears when you click on the wifi icon on the toolbar, that lock means that the network is secure. The way to get it is to connect to a secure network, one that requires a password. If you are connected to your home network and you don't see that lock, it means anyone can connect to your wireless router. Not a very secure setup. Read though your router manual to find out how to set up a secure network.

There's no way to lock bookmarks specifically, but if you you can apply a
security policy to prevent editing the PDF in general.

Referring to your previous message when you said you'd converted via Acrobat and not Acrobat.com, I'm converting via Acrobat.com because that's the only option that is shown (how do I convert via Acrobat? - perhaps that would be more successful). I'm using the Export PDF website, and the OCR is enabled to "Recognize text in English UK". However, I've just tried converting a different LPA pdf form, this time for Health & Welfare https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/245571/LPA114_He alth_welfare_LPA.pdf and again I have the same problem as before. I've altered it from "Read only" and thought I'd then be able to enter text, but "Drawing Tools" is shown in the pane and I'm unable to enter anything onto the form - everything appears to be in images. Also, the lettering on the heading of' page 1 has become jumbled, with the word "Public" overlaying the word "Guardian." Any suggestions as to what it is I'm doing wrong would be welcome - I don't like to be beaten!

How did the photos get onto the phone ? Only photos taken with the phone or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the device. Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.

I have an onWorkflowActivated, followed by an ifElse condition and a log to history.
In the IfElse, each branch has a code segment, that trys to update the status column in the list that the workflow is attached to.

you can do the following:
add the following code to the workflow.xml file (under the MetaData section)

</ExtendedStatusColumnValues>
then add 2 SetState activities one in each branch of the IfElse.
for the code behind of setState1 (branch1) write the following code:
