When you click on Build & Format, your DVD burner will show up near the bottom of the window. Click on it and choose Disk Image.

I'm running for public office, and a local newspaper invited candidates to submit statements, along with MP3 audio files for display on its website.
So how does one make an MP3 audio file? Is this something I can do with my MacBook Pro and Leopard alone, or do I need to obtain a special software program?

Hi David!
As Francine mentioned, you will want to use the audio production software that came with your Mac, called Garageband. This will let you record speech, and even layer in music, etc. And when everything is set as you like it, the sound file can be exported in a variety of formats. It will provide a great basic audio recording solution for strictly voice and talking, but you can take things one step further and layer in a music track as an intro or outro if desired for a little more flair, edit out mistakes, etc. A great program that comes right with your Mac. There are nice basic tutorials on the Apple website which give an introduction to Garageband. Good luck David!

How do you make a Flash file 'searchable' to browsers?

I've heard that ywith Flash you can create an HTML wrapper
and create a style with hidden attributes so meta info can be seen
by browsers. Browsers are looking for content.
How is this done? Are there tutorials that show the process?
Are there 3rd party plug-ins that allow you to add searchable data
to a swf file placed in an HTML page?
Any direction or links to info on this would be appreciated,

There is one problem here. Usual HTML pages have hyperlinks,
which
connects pages within one site. Using Flash you can't show
these links
to the search engine. What to do? Fortunately there is a
solution -
just use siteinfo.xml file at your website to help web
crawlers index
all of your pages. Of course, you can insert hyperlinks into
"noscript" area too, but siteinfo file is useful in any case.

How can you make Automator see files with no extensions

I'm trying to create a workflow where Automator would have the Finder find Photoshop or TIFF files even if they don't have file extensions. If I choose Kind>Image, it gives me everything under the sun including every image from web sites I've visited during the period specified. If I use a file extension criteria, it misses any files of that type that don't have file extensions. I thought since file extensions aren't required in OS X that Automator would be able to tell even if the file extension is hidden.
Any suggestions other than go back and add extensions to all the files?

I've been using Macs since 1984, and never got into the habit of using file extensions (suffixes) to the names when I switched to OS X. Now I find, though, that in Automator, it doesn't find files when the extensions are hidden. The Finder still recognizes file types even though the method it does so has changed. What I wanted to know is if there is any Automator action that would be able to find files of a certain type even if the extensions were hidden.
I'm not looking for a way to create file extensions from scratch or get into resource code. I'm just trying to find a way to work with the files I already have, that already have associations with programs and have associated file type extensions even though the suffixes are hidden.
So basically is there a way to do it or not without renaming all my files to make extensions visible? If there is, I'll use it. If not, I'll have to find a method of batch changing all the files.

I read this thread today to try and place the .ICO plugin in the plugins folder.
It didn't work for me either. However.... I found for some reason when I installed CS6 on to my 64bit PC.... it has installed it in two different places.
The first place I tried was in the [Progam Files x86] - seems the right place...right? Not so, for some reason.
Whereas... I found a Photoshop CS6 file in [Program Files] folder too. Popped the plugin in there.... and it worked.
Not sure why I have two installs...? but hey it works.

How do you make a video file acceptable to Captivate 7?

I tried to attach a video and although the video was an .mp4, Captivate wouldn't allow it. I downloaded the FLV Converter, but it still won't accept the file.

This is what I did:
1. I added a "Caption and Content Right" slide to my presentation,
2. Then I clicked the "Insert Video Object" link on the new slide, selected the video from my computer (by browsing to find it) and
3. Clicked OK and got the following error message: Failed to load the video file. The file path or URL may be invalid.
So I downloaded the FLV Converter and converted my .MOV file to an .MP4 file and it still wouldn't load and I got the same error message.

select them in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder and select that folder in the finder, right click and compresss it - but since JPEGs are highly compressed Zipping a folder will not save much if any space

How do you make RealPlayer files?

I need to make RealPlayer files of my FCP movies. I downloaded Real Export Plug-in for Mac OsX from Real Networks. It is supposed to enable Quicktime Pro to export RealPlayer files. However it gives me a "export failed" message.
Anybody know about this?
I am running Panther and Quicktime 7.0.4. Real Export is supposed to be compatible with Panther but not Tiger.
I have Cleaner 5 and 6 but it seems like Cleaner won't convert to RealMedia unless I'm also running OS9, which I am not. I am looking into this further.
Bottom line: how can I make the RealPlayer files?

Are you running Tiger? I didn't install the Real Export Plug-in on my Tiger machine because RealNetworks said it was incompatible with Tiger. If you are running Tiger then maybe I should take the plunge.

What you are describing is Tooltips. If you search this forum you'll find some info but I think all of them require editing of the files post publishing - adding code with an app like MassReplaceIt.
Tooltips will show in some browsers if you insert the image tag into an iWeb snippet and add your text to the title like so....

The problem is that the text is small and it wouldn't be much use to partially sighted people.
With the thought anything may be possible, I did a rough test to see if something could be done in an HTML Snippet. This is very rough and needs some more work to tidy it up....

I downloaded Sharepoint 2013 as an img file. I am trying to install it on VMWare 5.1 which only accepts ISO files. How can I convert the img file to ISO or what other workarounds are available?
I already tried renaming the file to ISO, but it didn't work.

If you want to use img file in VMWare, you may need to convert the img file to ISO, as VMWare doen't support img file.
Please do as the followings to convert the img file to iso:
1. Unzip the files
2. Open a command prompt (Start > Run > type cmd, press Enter)
3. Browse to the folder where the unzipped files are (cd "c:\Windows ISO Files")
4. Considering that you are in the folder containing the files command prompt, type
       copy /b file1+file2+file3+file4+file5 file.iso
4a. Check that the files have no extension. If they have, the command changes to something like:
       copy /b file1.ext+file2.ext+file3.ext+file4.ext+file5.ext file.iso
4b. If there aren't *any* other files in the folder, typing this should be enough:
       copy /b *.* dvd_file.iso
If you still have question about the issue, I suggest you can post a thread in corresponding forum, you will get more helpful information from there.

The size of the application server's System Log is determined by the
following SAP profile parameters. Once the current System Log reaches
the maximum file size, it gets moved to the old_file and and a new
System Log file gets created. The number of past days messages in the

max file size. Once messages get rolled off the current and old files,
they are no longer retrievable.
