How do you make a secure pdf form editable?

How do you make a secure pdf file editable?

The best way is to apply a digital signature to the file. Any other way can
be manipulated quite easily.

how do you scan in a PDF form to make it electronic and have the fields electronic?

If you have Acrobat, you can create a PDF from a scan by selecting: File > Create > PDF from Scanner
This is for Acrobat 11. Previous version of Acrobat have something similar.
In order for Acrobat to be able to automatically add form fields, you will have to at least perform OCR on the PDF, but I would not expect good results. There's only so much it can do and starting from a scan is iffy. You will probably have to create the form fields yourself using the various form tools in form editing mode: Tools > Forms > Edit

  • How do you make a 2D line form the outline of a circle.

How do you make a 2D line form the outline of a circle. I want a line to come in from the side of the screen and bend round to form the outline of a circle. In flash pro cc?

you can use one tween to move your line from the side of the screen, then another (shape) tween to bend it into a circle.  you will probably need to use shape hints for the 2nd tween.

  • How do you make a new PDF preset in pages?

I had a very embarrassing pages moment today. A price list for my artwork went out a 10mb when exported from pages at the medium setting. The source images are from the media browser- from my aperture library.
I know I am an idiot for not checking but I usually make out OK with apple products right out of the box. I tried the reduce file size option but was not nuts about the results. I would like more control over the output ie a custom preset that scales the image down but results in better quality that the 72dpi that the previous method generated.
I know there is a way but I can not find the relevant thread that i once looked at years ago.
    many thanks

Mac Help says this about compressing pdfs:
    Compressing a PDF file
Large PDF files can be difficult to archive or email. Using Preview, you can compress a PDF file so it’s easier to share or store.
    To compress a PDF file:
Open Preview, in your Applications folder.
Choose File > Open, select the PDF file to compress, and then click Open.
Choose File > Save As, choose Reduce File Size from the Quartz Filter pop-up menu, and choose a name and location for the new PDF file.
    Click Save.
This process compresses the images in the file. The compressed images look the same as the originals when viewed onscreen, but may appear to be of lower quality when printed.
Further exploration of Help will tell you how to adjust the amount of compression.

  • How do you make the smallest pdf from InDesign CS4 but retain some sharpness?

I have a 2 page brochure, front and back with layered photoshop files and when I make the small pdf I need to make a 100kb file like a client has done in the past. The smallest I can make the pdf file is 460kb.  It will not go smaller no matter what I do. Of course I can enter final resolution as 72 dpi but the photos become very fuzzy. I have even reduced the file sizes of the photos and replaced them in the document. The file size remains the same.  My client said that Illustrator reduced the size for him smaller in the past but I don't think that is the solution.  How do you retain some sharpness in a pdf but keep the file size at a very minimum?

But InDesign CS4 outputs the file no matter what at 460 kb for me.
Still don't know why they got 100 kb.
By not using InDesign. Scott is on the right track by mentioning Distiller - which makes PDFs that are smaller than what InDesign can export. Illustrator can be used (improperly*) in the same way. Both methods can strip out stuff that you don't need if you don't care about printing quality, don't care about reliable display across multiple platforms, don't care about precisely how your fonts are embedded, don't care about the lawsuit that the blind people using screenreaders are going to bring against you, and so on. I don't know which of the above is not in your client's 100k file, or which of the things in my above list will be stripped out by using Distiller or Illustrator, but I bet that one of the people who has already posted in your thread does know, and might be talked into telling us.
But, if you're trying to make your client happy and aren't actually personally invested in making the smallest PDFs known to man, and if you're located in the US, then perhaps the phrases "screenreaders... blind... accessibilty... lawsuit" spoken together might induce your client to rethink this arbitrary desire for miniscule file size of PDFs.
Alternately, you could just save postscript out of both PDFs and just look at the .ps files in your favorite raw-text viewer.

  • How can I make an existing pdf form mobile friendly

I have a mobile notary business and need to make Invoices for on the go.
    What Ive done:
Ive created an image in Photoshop with basic text, table structure and company logo and save it as a pdf (saved file is 1.24mb)
I imported the saved pdf into Acrobat Pro X, added fields, and saved (saved file is 4.29mb)
The invoice is exactly how I want it, and runs great on the computer, but when I try to view it on my Droid Bionic or Galaxy Tab 10.1 using any pdf reader (including acrobat reader) it can't seem to open completely. It nearly freezes the devices.
    What Id like to do:
Take the file Ive already made, and make it mobile device friendly so I can create and email invoices on the spot.
What are my best options to do this?

Well, I was running into problems saving a filled form on my galaxy tab and droid bionic, so thats why I was asking about the option... But I figured out the reader-enabled function and tested it (I had hoped to edit my post before you read it lol) but, it only gives me the option to "share" not to save. I tested it and sent emailed it to my computer, opened it and it was a filled form. One problem I foreseee though, is that the file (the filled invoice sent from my tab) is still editable. In other word, I could fill a form, email it to someone, and they could refill it to whatever they want. I need to be able to fill out a form on my tab/phone, save and email it to someone, and make it so they can't change anything... any suggestions?
Apparently "reader" for the droid system doesn't have a "Save/Save As/export" option at all...
But apparently if I open the Invoice PDF in Reader, fill it, then open the file in an office type app (I use quick office pro) Itll open the pdf WITH the fields fille, and then I can save as a *.docx file. But, it won't let me just opne/edit field in quick office. I've getting frustrated.
Found a solution XD an app that allows one to open a pdf, fill the fields, "flatten" (so its no longer editible), and save. qPDF Problem solved
It looks bad in InDesign, before exporting to PDF

  • How do you make an expanadble text box in a pdf form?

How do you make a text box expand automatically in a pdf form?

    Hi;
Is this a question related to FormsCentral or to PDF forms in general?  If it is for PDF forms you should ask in the Acrobat forms forums: http://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobat/forms
If it is related to FormsCentral the text boxes do not expand automatically in a PDF, except for when saving a Response as a PDF form, when the responses from the View Responses tab are saved as a PDF form all Multi-line text fields are expanded to fit the text the user had entered.
    Thanks,

  • How do you make "Acrobat X Pro" open the "combine pdf" window in the foreground?

How do you make "Acrobat X Pro" open the "combine pdf" window in the foreground?
I am using a "Windows 7" computer at work with "Acrobat X Pro" and I'm constantly combining
    pdf's and tiff's in Acrobat.
It would be nice if when I select 30 or 40 files to combine, the
"Combine Supported Files in Acrobat" window would open in the
foreground, not behind the 10 or so windows already open.
I have been researching this for some time now with no solution.
If the answer is that "IT CAN'T BE DONE", then that's fine. At least
I will have an answer and can stop searching. If (as I suspect) it can
be done, then kindly supply me with "step by step" instructions.
    Michael Jones

Something that works  (provides Acrobat the application precedence in the OS that is requisite for this) --
Minimize the 10 or so application windows before engaging use of Acrobat's "combine".
That'll let the Acrobat dialog windows display front and center.
    Be well...

    Hi ,
I guess that was a bug in that version .
It does not happen in Acrobat XI and Acrobat DC .The window comes right in front of everything else .
I wonder that was a bug and that was fixed the other versions.
You could upgrade to the latest Acrobat version ,i.e Acrobat DC and you would not experience this anymore .

  • How do you make a spreadsheet or cells secure and private?

In using numbers, I want to make a spreadsheet secure (limited access). How do you do this ..... Or how do you make the cells within it secure?

Password protect the file (although there's some doubt as to the strength of that protection).
save the file to an encrypted Disk Image. See Mac Help in the Finder's Help menu for details.
There's no way to fully protect the cells of an open document. Numbers provides for locking "objects," but cells themselves are not objects. Tables are, objects, so you can lock a complete table. That prevents changes to the table until it is unlocked, but does not prevent changes to other tables in the document, nor does it prevent any used from unlocking the table then editing it.
Jerry has offered a technique which may be used to guard against inadvertent changes to individual cells. You can read it in his responses in Hold Table Position in a Sheet.

How can you create a writable PDF document from a PPT presentation ? Upper part with the image , lower part with a free space in order to take notes for students during presentation or course.
    Thanks.

You can make a PDF file out of you notes and handouts but using the Adobe PDF printer.
Open your PowerPoint Document then go to “File” “Print”
    Select ‘Adobe PDF” Printer
Under slides, select which way you want to print. Note it will not print to a printer but to a PDF file.
After then go into printer Properties and Setup PDF properties, do the following: (see second image below)
    Default: PDF/A 1-b
Adobe Security: none (change as needed)
Adobe Output folder: Prompt for Adobe file name
Adobe Page size: Letter (change as needed)
    Check the following check boxes
    View Adobe PDf Results,
    Add Document Information,
    Rely on system fonts only,
Delete Log files for successful jobs.
    Select OK
A pop will ask you where you want to save the document. The file extension should be PDF. After giving the file name select okay and the file should popup as a PDF. Down side is if you want to speaker notes included then you will have to do another file, like wise with just screen shots then combine into one PDF document.
I used Acrobat IX Pro. So to do this you need Acrobat IX or X Pro.
    Hope this will help.

  • How to use F4 help on PDF form

    Hello,
I'm using Adobe Interactive Form with WebDynpro for Java.
I'd like to use F4 value help on Adobe Form.
Does anyone know how to implement F4 help on PDF form ?
    Regards,

    Hi,
    SAP Note: 1013227.
But you should have ZCI based forms. Note: 1055911 and 1042394.
It always makes sense if you specify the NetWeaver SP release you are on along with any other information that you think is important.
