How do you make all your tabs appear on all your devices

Everything seems to by syncing correctly, notes, email, messages, but I cannot see all my tabs in safari on all my devices. Is there something I have to do to turn them on?

Number 6 (the number following the sentence below) on the checklist at the bottom of the mountain lion page explains why iCloud tabs dosen't currently work.

Thank you. I think I got it for the 4 but not for the 4S. In mail, contacts, calendars, do you choose default account? Also, there does not appear to be a choice like this for the icloud. How do you change the default on it? The best I can see is icloud to account to advanced to mail to icloud account information. On that screen there is a box that says allow sending from and the only choices you have are the icloud account and me account. I do not see how to add another account if that is the right section. I don't want the icloud or the me to be a return address.

Hello Apple community! New mac user here. I really want to know how to automatically have all bookmarks opened after launching safari. Thanks so much!

There is no way to open "all" bookmarks at launch
But you can open a group of them at launch as tabs.
Click the Book icon in the Bookmarks Bar.
Click Bookmarks Bar in the side bar
At the bottom left of the right side pane there is + sign. Click on it.
A new folder will be created. Name it.
Checkmark the box under the column "Auto-Click".
The new folder will appear in the Bookmarks Bar
Add your favorites to it.
Click "Add Bookmark" in the Safari toolbar and select the new folder.
When you launch Safari, items in that folder will appear as tabs when you
click on that folder in the Bookmarks Bar.

In a helpset with multiple chms, how do you make the master toc appear in all child chms?

I'm using RoboHelp 11. The software product I'm documenting is modular so the help is also divided into many chms (requirement). One of the other requirements is that the TOC from the master project appear, no matter which which chm contains the link called by the software. I've done this with merged WebHelp (kudos to Peter Grainge), however I haven't been successful doing it for HTML help using RoboHelp. Has anyone attempted this successfully? Any tips would be appreciated.

This requires you to make the following changes:
In each of the projects, open the window being used to display the CHM. Click Advanced Properties and enter the file name of the master project's TOC in the "Table of Contents" field.
Having compiled all the files, open up the Master project's .HHP file in Notepad. Look for the [MERGEDFILES] section. This should have a list of all the CHMs that make up the final deliverable. It has been some time since I've used CHMs, so I can't remember if you have to do this in all the projects. Try it in the master project first and you'll find out if you do.

I can't remember how to show my disk size or how many items are in a folder. I have this feeling it's to do with Finder Preferences. You know how you have your hard drive listed and it will say 60GB in size or a folder in finder will say 14 items.

How do you make all your pictures the same size when making a movie?

I am putting together a presentation with jpeg images and .mov files and when they play together in the movie, the .mov do not fill the screen like the jpeg images (which were put together in a movie) - any ideas?

Mixing image and QuickTime video formats is a fun way to build custom movies. You need only understand the best method of organizing your project before starting in QuickTime Pro.
Your image files should be sized to match your video dimensions. Scaling the video up in dimensions will degrade the video quality and you don't want that. Best to edit your JPEG files to the dimension and orientation of your video. Best to "crop" images that are shot in "portrait" mode and scale down in dimension those shot in "landscape" mode so you don't bloat the file size unnecessarily.
When adding images to QuickTime files it's best to add them "scaled" to the audio track portion of the file. Since you also want to add existing "movies" I'm guessing you already have an audio track to use as a background track.
Is this true? Are you using an audio track as the source for your image files and then dropping the existing movies into that finished project?

Sort Artist field: how do you make it's data appear in the Artist list?

Usually, if I have an album by a particular artist already (e.g. Paul McCartney) and then add another which I want listed under the same artist (e.g. Wings), then there's no problem. I would just enter Paul McCartney in the Sort Artist and Sort Album Artist fields for the Wings album and I'd only have Paul McCartney listed under the artists (in List View).
However, occasionally this doesn't work and I want to know how to sort it. I imported an album by The Jacksons, entered Michael Jackson in the Sort Artist and Sort Album Artist fields, which resulted in The Jacksons being listed amongst the artists alphabetically as if Michael Jackson, although still displayed as The Jacksons. I then imported a Michael Jackson album and entered the same data in the same fields, and although the albums were displayed together and alphabetically listed as if Michael Jackson, they were listed amongst the artists as The Jacksons. I want to see Michael Jackson listed. I have it that way in 2 other libraries. I think this has occured because I entered The Jacksons' album first in a library which contained no Michael Jackson and therefore The Jacksons have taken precedence. How can I sort this?

As I see it the *Album Artist* field should keep tracks of an album together when different Artists are credited on an album. It does work this way in iTunes but not on most iPods. The *Sort Album Artist* field is used to control where that Album Artist is listed among others. e.g. to control whether "The Beatles" get sorted under "B" or "T". While linking different Artist values with an overal Album Artist makes sense, I don't think that the logic of Sort Album Artist was ever intended to merge different values of Album Artist.
Apple don't appear to be working to resolve this issue since it has been evident for quite some time. The workarounds I suggest in the post linked above will give one cover in cover flow, one album in the albums menu and one artist in the artist menu if applied consistently.
With your Paul McCartney/Paul McCartney & Wings issue for example, my preference would be to use the original album artists as credited. Otherwise change the Artist & Album Artist to "Paul McCartney" and then, if you wish, add \[As Wings\] to the album title or individual tracks. If you used Sort Artist & Sort Album Artist to make "Micheal Jackson" sort as "Jackson, Michael", "Janet Jackson" sort as "Jackson, Janet" and "The Jacksons" as "Jacksons" then all the related artists would be listed in the same place, but remain distinct.

very easy. With Safari, go to Preferences, then General. there you should be able to set your homepage as Google. With Firefox, it's roughly the same, go to Preferences, then General. your homepage should be under the "startup" tab. I don't know why you can't find safari Preferences. Open up Safari, get it running, on the left hand side of the screen under the word "safari" you will find the word "Preferences" or press command (Cloverleaf), then comma (,) to get to preferences. There is no video that will teach you everything about Mac, however, your local users' group or Apple store may be able to help you out. If you are lucky, you may also be able to find a helpful Mac user locally or here.

oh, and one last thing: very common mistake: this forum is for Mac Pro's, not Macbook Pro's. One is portable (the 2nd one) and one is not (the 1st one)

Drag any event from the iCal window to the desktop
Click once on the event on the desktop to highlight it.
Go to File > Get Info
In the "Open With" drop down menu choose "iCal"
Click the button which says "change all"
Move the event on the desktop to the trash

only way is to restore the phone as new. OR wait until IOS 7 comes out in the fall.

You don't have a hot-corner for that anymore.
You use a gesture for that now. You can either 4-finger swipe down, or place the tips of your fingers in the center of your track pad. Your fingers should be bunched up and touching each other. To show all windows, expand your fingers, as if you were showing someone "5" on your fingers.

Newbie Question... How do you make sure java can find all the imports

Hi everyone,
I am new to Java and so far I really like it. But I am having problems porting applets to my websites. How can you make sure that all the references can and will be found in the applet...
for example,
I import javax.media.ControllListener in a project I am using and it works great in the applet viewer but when I try to port this to my website I'm working on, java can't find it. I really would appreciate any help on this cause then I would have java power :) and will keep me from losing my hair :).
