How do you measure the voltages in an external usb device, such as a usb missile launcher?

Any Suggestions?

USB is a funny thing. Typically 5V max provided by the client PC. A lot of devices use 3.3V , The current the USB device will use is determined during enumeration. And the client device negotiates this with the PC. As was stated in the duplicate post you made a few days ago, Your missile launcher will need either LV drivers provided by the manufacture or a DLL file OR some way of knowing the communication protocol of the missile launcher.

How can you tell the difference between a genuine Apple lead and the cheap, or sometimes not so cheap imitations? I spoke with two people at Apple Support - one said that it has Designed in California Made in China and the serial number stamped on it, and the other said it didn't. Come on guys, how are we supposed to tell if you can't? I'd really like to know how to identify my lead amongst my daughter's gazillion fakes?

All my cables are genuine either with the devices or from Apple retail Store I have never found a serial number on any regardless of which length ,I have all three lengths
In fact they have nothing printed at all only a USB logo at relevant end

  • How do you measure the change in area of an irregular shape?

    Hello everyone,
This irregular shape is previously unspecified (other than the fact that it is white on a black background). Changes in the area would cause a motor to either speed up (increase) or slow down (decrease).
I'm completely new to Labview and I'm still trying to figure out the jists of it. I have been playing around with the vision assistant. Any help would be appreaciated.
    Thanks.

Just create a binary image using automatic thresholding (or fixed threshold if it is a constant), then use particle measurement to measure the area of the particle.  If it returns multiple particles, you probably want the largest one.  You might have to clean up the binary image by removing edge particles, etc. before using particle measurement.
You should be able to measure the area several times a second easily, possibly at the frame rate of the camera.

  • How do you change the size of an external monitor?

If I plug my mac into my Samsung monitor and mirror the image it enlarges the image on the Samsung monitor. How do I make it so it is the same resolution of my mac.

That is how mirrored mode works. Your computer screen, including resolution, is mirrored to your external monitor. So what ever the resolution of your computer screen this is the resolution you will get on your external monitor.
Turn off mirrored mode and use extended display. When using extended display you can set your computer and external monitor screen resolutions independently. So each can be using its native resolution for best results on each.

  • How do you use the same wireless keyboard with multiple devices?

My apologies in advance if this question has been answered previously.  There was nothing in the owner's manual (for the keyboard) that answered this.  I did do a rough search that did not yield an answer to this:
I have one wireless keyboard I am using with my Macbook Pro.  I understand this keyboard can also be used as an input device for my Apple TV and my iPhone - both of which I currently own.
And although I am able to use the keyboard with those devices, I am forced to "forget this device" after having used it on either the Apple TV or my iPhone so that I can use it on my MacBook Pro.  Is there any combination of keys that one can press on the keyboard that would cycle through my three devices?  As it is right now, if I don't "forget the device" on my secondary units, it somehow defaults to a peripheral OTHER than my MacBook Pro and I'd like for it to always default to my computer.
    Thank you for any information/advice.

  • How do you measure a Cycle's  lenght in time, not bars and beats?

How to you measure the time length on a selected cycle ? I understand that when any cycle is selected, you can see the length of that specific range on Bars and beats, but not in Real time. How do I get to see ( Calculate ) the real time length of a cycle range? When working with video this feature is absolutely necessary. ProTools shows you the length in time when a cycle range is selected. I also know that you can calculate the distance of any given point in the song, relative to the start time, you can see it in the Time Position display, but what If I need a more exact time calculation ( min:sec:frames, etc. ) between two specific cue points that are only relevant to video sync, not relative to the start time and not relative to musical values. Like if I need the exact time length for a video cue, etc.

Thank you, very Much, That's it !!!
I've looked for that for years...LOL, It never occurred to me to look for a "negative",

When using the measure tool the imputed scale resets to 1to1 as soon as you perform another action. How do you get the scale to lock?

Hi there - I think I am having problems associated withg Cause 9 in that in google mail I have another pop email address associated so that I can send using this email address, but then I have both addresses setup seperately in BIS. When I receive a mail from GMAIL I receive a duplicate with "received by: unknown" in the header. I had gmail setup so that it would send using by pop email address as default.
In your answer the settings for the two filters you recommend creating are broken links and I canot actually see them. What are they?
Also What do you recommend setup wise with gmail and a pop account. Some people say it is better to get gmail to receive the pop mail account and run the whole account from there. Blackberry doesn't seem to like this setup very much. Should I completely dissociate the pop account and to try and clarify the distinction between the two? Or should I setup a second gmail account and have that poll my pop account and then have the blackberry feed off these two gmail accounts? The reason I am considering this option is gmail provides a lot of storage and online continuity and this would effectively persist my account.
Your help would be much appreciated.. I have had blackberry woes now for over a month and I have spent hours with various support personel, tried deleteing and sending down new service books etc etc but had no luck yet.
    thanks,
    Nathan

  • How do you change the amp value of a battery

I am trying to make a voltage regulator for my car.
My car puts out 14v and 500 amp battery.
I can not tell Multisim that I want a 500 amp battery.
How do I change the value?
This is important because I have to make sure I have at least 15amps output. No way to do this so far. Program is worthless.

    Shane711,
Most multimeters can only handle ten amps or less, so it is not surprising that yours burned up.
How did you connect the multimeter while trying to measure the battery current? Cars have large, heavy wires connected to the battery because the large currents would destroy smaller wires. Your multimeter does not have connections or wires anywhere near as large as the battery cables. To measure the current you need to disconnect one of the cables and connect the meter in series with the cable. If you attempted to connect the multimeter in parallel with the battery as you would to measure voltage, you shorted the battery through the meter and probably had hundreds of amperes flowing, at least until a fuse blew or some wire burned out.
Your specification for the voltage regulator does not make any sense. A voltage regulator has an output voltage specification - yours is 12 V. It also has an input voltage range specification. You did not specify an input range. The output current is determined by the load via Ohm's Law. The specification includes a maximum current - Is that what you meant by 15 amps? Some regulator circuits also have a minimum output current specification, often a few mA. Optional specifications include tolerances on voltages, power dissipation, transient response characteristics, and so on. The design of the circuit depends on all of these specifications.  You will probably not find a single device which operates as a voltage regulator with 12 V output at up to 15 A.  A regualtor like that will probably contain one or more power transistors, some ICs, resistors, diodes, capacitors, and inductors.
Any simulator is only as good as the models used. From what Tien P. said in his earlier post, the battery in Multisim is an ideal voltage source. If so, it should easily produce currents of 1000 amperes. Just put a 12 milliohm resistor across the battery.  As I said yesterday, you will need to create a battery model circuit which has the characteristics you want in your battery.  What do you expect the output voltage to be at the battery terminals when drawing 1000 amps? What should it be with no current drawn? What should it be at 1, 10 , and 100 amps?

  • Measuring the voltage of series connected batteries

Hi, I am using the ADC of PIC18 to measure the voltages of the battery bank in which the batteries are connected in series. I have to measure the voltages of each battery in the bank. I am using differential op-amp with voltage divider to bring the voltage into the range of the ADC. Now as the batteries are connected in series so when I connect it with the circuit it is measured as zero. while not connected in series the measurement is fine. I need soluton for this problem any help will be greately appreciated. what should I do to measure the battery voltages while connected in series. Thanks
If you are young work to Learn, not to earn.

Do you have a wiring diagram or circuit to show your setup?
What is the voltage of the batteries?  What is your supply voltage for the Op-Amps?  How many batteries?
What I'm guessing is that the common-mode voltage of the battery is higher than the supply voltage and therefore both sides of the differential op-amp are railing and therefore no difference.

  • How do you change the resolution of a Photo?

In iPhoto, how to you reduce the resolution of a photo in order to reduce the file size? This makes it easier to email because of the smaller file size?

    Let's say I have a photo with a resolution of of 3264 x 2448 pixels.
Tat's not a measurement of resolution, that's the dimensions (length x breadth) of the photo, expressed in pixels.
Resolution is a vague term most used to describe the density of pixels - i.e the pixels per inch.
    1) I want to edit it and reduce the resolution to 1024 x 768 pixels.
No, you want to reduce the dimensions of the image to 1024 x 768
    2) Do this within iPhoto without using the export feature thereby keeping the edited photo in iPhoto?
You can't. It can only be done on export. Why? When you edit a photo iPhoto preserves the original and makes a copy of the file containing the edit. As most people reduce the dimensions, file size or resolution for a specific purpose (to upload it for instance), it's thought best to export it, upload it nd then trash it.
Of course, you can simply import the export back in, if you have a burning need of it in iPhoto.

  • How do you change the nominal range settings from 0-10v to 0-1v

Currently using a PCI-6052E with Mac OS, how do you change the resolution accuracy? In other words from say
0-10V full scale for an AI to 0-1V full scale?

Here is the information that you should follow when using DAQ with a Macintosh. I'm not sure whether you are using LabVIEW or some other programming language, so the two main references that you should refer to are the NI-DAQ Software Reference Manual for Macintosh and the LabVIEW Data Acquisition VI Reference Manual. Both of these resources are excellent sources of information and will explain to you anything you need to know about programming DAQ on a Macintosh.
The NI-DAQ Software Reference Manual for Macintosh can tell you how to configure things such as Analog Input Mode (differential, RSE, NRSE), Range, Polarity, Analog Output Range, P
olarity, Voltage Source, etc. Even reading just the first chapters of either of the above mentioned reference manuals should have you on your way.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do you change the dpi settings in iPhoto

How do you change the dpi settings in iPhoto

Short answer: the dpi is set when you decide what size you're printing at.
Long Answer: Dpi means nothing in the digital world of your computer. There are no "inches" to have "dots per..." Size is measured in pixels. That's the same on your camera. It doesn't take 10 x 8 or 6 x 4 shots. It takes shots measured in megapixels. For instance 4,000 x 3,000 is a 12 megapixel camera.
Using that example, that shot from that camera has 12 million pixels. So that's how many "Dots" there are. To decide the ratio of dots per inch, you now need to decide the "inches" part. And that's printing.  Print at 10 x 8 and the dpi will be 4,000/10 or about 400 dpi. At 6 x 4 then it's 4,000/6 or 660 dpi. Work the other way: Print at 300 dpi and the resulting image will be about 13 inches on the longer side.
So, your photo as a fixed number of pixels. Changing the dimensions of the print will vary the dpi, changing the dpi will vary the dimensions of the print.
