How do you mirror images on your mac

How do you mirror an image on your mac? (for netflix using an hdmi cable)

Hi jess,
I don't know about later OSs, but in 10.6 you go into System Preferences > Displays > click on the Arrangement tab and click in the checkbox for Mirror Displays.

  • How do you get idvd on your mac?

How can you get Idvd on your mac? ive made a movie using imovie but i do not have idvd on my computer.

    Apple no longer distributes iDVD.
1a) Buy an old iLife from a place such as e-bay or Amazon (https://discussions.apple.com/message/18750180 or http://www.megamacs.com/index.php?action=frameview&id=404733009&D=1).  Make sure it is a version that has iDVD.  Do not buy it from Apple since their version no longer has iDVD.
1b) Depending upon which computers and discs you have you may be able to do a custom installation of the software using old system installer discs that had iLife bundled.
    2) Try a third party application (none have the features of iDVD though).
Burn (free) - http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html - includes basic DVD authoring but you will definitely have to read the documentation.

  • How do you sync calendars from your mac to your iphone

I am having a problem getting my calendar on my macbook pro to sync with the calendar on my iphone 6. I have icloud turned on for calendars on my phone but when I sync the items I have entered on my macbook pro are not uploaded to my iphone 6. I do most all my inputting on my macbook as it is easier to see the dates and my schedules than on the iphone. I have tried sync'ing both over wi fi and cellular but nothing is happening. At some point the calendars did sync as I do have stuff on my iphone which is on my macbook but I am not able to sync anything now.
    thanks for your help
    Sheri

    Howdy sheribe,
As I understand it, you have iCloud setup to sync Calendar data on your iPhone and your MacBook Pro but it doesn't seem to get across to the phone on either device either using Wi-Fi or cellular data. I would check www.icloud.com to see if the calendar data is there that you entered on your Mac. If it is, use the iOS troubleshooting section of the following article. If it is not, then use the Mac section instead:

    All the best,

  • How do you turn on/off your Mac mini?

Hi, newbie here, please be patient . Is it possible to turn on a Mac mini (late 2012) with a remote? With ip control? Do you ever turn your mini off?
I tried putting some settings in energy savings, to turn off the mini, but if the mini is a sleep when it's supposed to turn off, according to the schedule, it doesn't work.....I don't have a keyboard for it, only a mouse and the iOS app Rowmote..... Do I really need an apple remote to turn it on/off?

An Apple Remote can do a lot of things with the right software. Take a look at this:
    http://www.iospirit.com/products/remotebuddy/
There are various ways to control a Mac, shut down and restart (cold start is harder but possible with extra hardware), via IP. Here's a good place to start:
    http://teamviewer.com
I never turn my Mac off unless I'm going to be away from it for more than a full day. When I walk away for more than a few minutes, I put it to sleep. Watch this for information about shutting down/sleeping:
    http://macmost.com/shut-down-or-sleep.html
Buy a cheap keyboard for your Mini. I can't imagine you can get full use out of it without a keyboard. There are decent Bluetooth keyboards available for under $20. But if you have a mouse, you can turn it on or off or to sleep with the mouse using the appropriate menu option under the Apple Menu in the upper-left corner of your screen.

  • How can you gain access to your mac if you forget the password

I need help accessing my computor because I forgot my username

Look below your /Users/username/ folder, the one with the House icon. The name is your username.
    Forgot Your Account Password
    For Snow Leopard and earlier
Mac OS X 10.6- If you forget your administrator password
    For Lion/Mountain Lion
        Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
instructions in the dialog window that will appear.
Or see Reset a Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Password and
OS X Lion- Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
If you are unable to boot from an installer DVD:
(these will only work on Leopard or earlier)
      1. Boot to Safe Mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down
the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
      2. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each
          command line:
         /sbin/fsck -yf
If you do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message then repeat this command
until you do.  If after seven tries you still do not receive a "Filesystem OK"
message, then the system is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.
         mount -uw /
         cd /private/var/db/netinfo
         mv local.nidb local.old
         rm ../.AppleSetupDone
         shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when the new owner starts up the computer it will send him/her to the startup wizard where he/she can start a new user without reinstalling.
This last method does not actually change a password. It simply removes the user accounts and lets you create an initial admin account as if the computer were new out of the box.
Reset Admin Password Using The Terminal
You can reset the password by printing out (or writing down) and carefully following these steps.
First, find the short name of the admin user on the machine. The easiest way of doing this is by looking at what the directory is called in the Users folder.
Now, start in Single-user Mode. It should boot into a command line.
Enter these exact lines. Press RETURN after each.
    mount -uw /
    ifconfig lo0 up
    cd /var/db/netinfo
    netinfod -s local
Now you'll need that short name. Enter "passwd", a space, and the short name of the admin. For example, if the admin was rather prosaically called "imadmin", you would enter "passwd imadmin".
The computer will now prompt you to change the password for "lmadmin" (or whatever the short name was). Go ahead and enter a new password.
    Now, enter:
    sync
    reboot
and the machine will reboot. The admin password should now be changed.

  • When you've created a jar file, how do you use images in your program

i want to be able to play a game with a jar file, but the image path file gets screwed up

    >
i want to be able to play a game with a jar file, but the image path file gets screwed up>To get a reference to a resource isnide a Jar file?
    URL url = Thread.
      currentThread().
      getContextClassLoader().
getResource("path/to/the/image.gif");Where path/to/the/image.gif is the relative path within the Jar.
As an aside, JAI is a separate API for doing advanced stuff with images, and it supports image formats unknown to the J2SE. Whereas your question was better suited to a 'New to Java' style group, especially since it seemed the question had to do with paths, more than images as such.

  • How do you load iCloud using your Mac info?

My wife wiped out her Contacts info..and probably the other iCloud stuff, last night.  She was trying to stop some kind of Notifications coming in while she is playing Word With Friends she thinks.  When she got up this morning she noticed she had no contact info on her MAC, her iPad or her iPhone.
I came home, and not sure what she may have wiped out, I did a restore from back-up (from Time Machine), and picked Saturday's back-up.  When restarted the PC, I noticed that her contacts were back .... while it continued to load pages up (I think she has quite a few apps loading up on launch).  Anyway, by the time it finished rebooting up and i closed all the pages, her Contact info was gone again.  I decided it was because she still had iCloud set up in her Preferences, and thought that since iCloud is now blank, it over0-wrote the back-up I had just put together.  So I unchecked all of the iCloud synching on preferences, and redid the backup, hoping that this time the Contacts would be back, and that it would not attempt to synch with a blank iCloud.  If it works...how do I load up iCloud with what will now be on the MAC?   Then I can let her resynche her iPhone iPad, and get the Contacts back on them.  After that I will go back to the Preferences and re-check the iCloud synching.   Can I get some feedback on this please?   Thanks,

Finallly realized that the Contact App (Address Book) must be corrupt.  I redownloaded the Bundled Apps from the original Install DVD.  Then I used Time Machine to go back to Sunday...when she had all her contacts. I did a restore...and this time it worked (with the corrupt Address Book app..when I hit restore, it would go back to blank on the first shuffle forward).
Now all is right...Address book is filled in again, on all her devices.
