How do you move iPhoto from one Mac to another

I recently purchased the new Macbook Pro two weeks ago. I have iPhoto 11 on my old Mac (OS Lion, also). I imported them, but I am wondering if there's any way to do this and maintain my "events folders?" I have 10 years of photos, and they all moved over, but there is no organization. Is there a way to move them over (I did this from an external hard drive) and maintain the same "events folders" that they are organized in? I had them organized by month and year. (Example - 2012 - March, 2012 - Feb).

You want to move the Library:
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

Pictures can appear in any number of albums.
To move from one album to another, add the picture to the new album and then right click on the picture, select Remove from album and then select the album you want to remove it from.

It's not a good idea to create multiple catalogs. For one thing, this defeats the purpose of the Organizer as a way to search for and find your photos; the search can only operate within a single catalog. Also, there are no functions in PSE that work across multiple catalogs. And even though you can "manually" combine the catalogs if you so desire, you lose information such as collection/album membership, stacks, version sets, creations and a few other things.

No, I think you may have misunderstood what I want to do. I know I can move messages between accounts (or even between Inbox and Sent) - that's very easy to do once Mail is set up.
What I want is to merge messages between the SAME accounts on TWO DIFFERENT computers. One Mac has messages up until February 2012, and then again from a few days ago. The other Mac has messages from February 2012 up until the present. I just want to bring the messages from the past year or more onto the one Mac, so they are all together and I can put the second Mac away into storage. Mail is the only thing holding me up.
Is there something I can do with "Archiving" mail from the second Mac, onto a flash drive, then reading the flash drive into Mail on the other Mac? Why, oh why, can't I just 'drag and drop'?

Are your photos in iPhoto or are they stored in folder on your iMac?
Firstly, the two Macs need to be connected, either via ethernet or wirelessly, on the same network.
The same can be achieved by copying the photos from your iMac to an external hard drive and then to your MBP.
You can copy the entire iPhoto library over to your MacBook Pro and replace the existing iPhoto library in the Pictures folder. (Do you have photos in the iPhoto Library on your MBP?)
It is also possible to have more than one iPhoto Library, by giving the library on the iMac a new name, and then copying it over.

I believe the keyboard picks up attributes from the app or browser concerned. If the field is attributed as email address the @ will be in the main layout. If its a password field, you get all the numbers tio. Depends on the way the web page was coded, but you can't control it.

How do you move photos from one album to another?

I imported a few photos from my iphone 4 into my new ipad using Bump. The ipad put these photos into an album. I'd like to be able to organize some of these into different albums and also name the albums. I don't want to sync all my photos from my phone...there are way too many so I kept sync photos unchecked in itunes. Is there a way to do this on the ipad itself without any outside help?

There is no way to do what you are asking.
Organizing photos takes place on your computer, not the iPad.

I have ripped my entire CD collection to an old laptop, basically turning it into a jukebox. I would like to move the music to my new laptop as well. I have tried to copy the music folder to an external hard drive and then copying it to the music folder on the new laptop, but this does not seem to work, as the music does not show up in iTunes. I have tried opening and closing iTunes, to see if this would work, but it has not. Please help. Thanks.

For just a few export them out of Library A via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original and import them into Library B.
However, this will not include any edits or metadata (keywords, titles, etc.) that you've added.
To get the original image, any edits and all metadata, keywords, titles, descriptions, places, etc., you'll need the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager. It can copy albums or events from one library to another and keep those items I mentioned earlier with the photos.
