how do you open a DVD/file in another search engine?

Hi
I think it is simpler than that: place DVD in computer and then try to run a video from the disk. It will not run using Safari, but I know it runs in Firefox which I have on the computer.
I believe that I can depress one of the moifier keys while clicking an item on the application menu bar to open a menu where you can open the dvd using Firefox or another application.
Should be simple, but yet to find solution.

Regarding your questions:
1. Can you try to press the eject symbol on the DVD bay and observe if the DVD tray comes out.

2. By default, the HDD is set as the first boot device and the ODD second on the K430. You will need to change the boot order or continuously tap F12 during POST to boot from the ODD (assuming you have a bootable media inserted).

When you say InDesign CC, doo you mean the InDesign CC release from this year, or are you still using InDesign CS6 through a cloud subscription? There are a lot of users confused by this.
If you have CS6 through a subscription you are entitield to the new version for free and should go to creative.adobe.com and download the newest version of the Creative Cloud Desktop Application and get the new versions of the applictions you use.

The operating system may be the same but the Numbers applications are likely different. You need to get the apps in sync. Unfortunately, the Numbers (and Pages as well) saga is pretty confusing (and frustrating). Here's some info from the iWork resident version expert (PeterBreis0807):
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs.

I always choose "open normally" and the file would open (I think using Preview).
I can't open .pdf files attached to e-mails (in gmail) or on a website.

How do you open FreeHand MX files in Leopard?

Adobe said that installing and using FreeHand MX in Leopard is not recommended. Since Illustrator CS3 only has partially success in opening FreeHand files how are you supposed to open them? Is anybody using FreeHand MX on Leopard. I concerned about installing it since other apps of the age I've heard don't run at all (PhotoShop 7).

Sherlock is gone from Leopard. All you saw were traces of his leaving when you upgraded.
As far as Airport goes, check the Network Preferences and under Advanced be sure you have the correct boxes checked or unchecked as needed. Then see what happens.
What seems unstable about Leopard? Mine seems stable as a rock on my old MBP.

If you can convert a .swf file to PDF, you would be able to open it in iBooks.
Apparently those converters do exist.
Google or similar are your friends.

You need to have a reference to an instance of one class in the other class or the other way round in order to communicate between the two. Alternatively you can call a static function of one class from an instance of the other class.
Anyway, I suggest reading about object-oriented programming first (can be even a Java book) to understand how things work. Such basics really help and it's never shame to read it.

How can you open a project file backup if the main project won't load?

This has only started happening in the last couple of weeks. I'm on Logic 10.0.7, OSX 10.8.5. On one particular project, it will be loading seemingly normally, then it just disappears with no crash log, nothing.
Presumably there is some sort of corruption in the project file.
In the old pre package days, you would just go to the project file backups folder and pick a previous one. Bingo, you have only lost a little bit of work.
Now when I show package contents, the project file backups folder has project data files that won't open logic, and are invisible until you have logic open. Which I can't do.
Rue the day I selected the package option rather than folder.
Any suggestions?
Or to put the question another way, how can I convert the project data in the project file backups folder to a file that Logic can recognise and open?

Having his install the trial is the way to go. Working between AI versions is a pain and as you are finding out almost impossible with 5 versions between the collaborators.

Hi downloaded a compressed(zipped) multimedia file formatted for mac. File should include PDF documents and some video. It's a ".sit " file type. I can't figure out how to open it. I have tried saving it to the desk top with no use. All i see is a jumble of letters, numbers and symbols. Please help. Thanks.

Today I purchased a full download version of Photoshop Elements 10. There were two files to download and install. One file was a .exe file and was no problem. The other file is a .7Z file which I cannot figure out how to open so I can install it. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

You do not need to opene it, that's what the .exe is for. If you still feel compelled to extract the archive and run the setup.exe contained therein manually, any current unpacking tool like WinZip or WinRAR can handle it as can of course 7zip.

How do you open multiple binary files and plot them all on the same graph?

I have three different binary files and I want to plot all 3 of them onto a graph.
I am familiar with opening and reading a single binary file. (Thanks to the help examples!)
But to do multiple numbers at the same time? I was thinking of putting 3 different 'reading from binary file' blocks with the rest of the 'prompts', 'data type', etc.. and then connecting them on the same wire.
However, I got into a mess already when I tried to read one .bin file to dynamic data type --> spectral measurements --> graph waveform. The error was Not enough memory to complete this operation... Why is that? That didnt happen in the help example "Read Binary File.vi"... Has it got something to do with the dynamic data type?

How can you open a PDF file in Preview or save it as Preview?

Drag and drop it onto Preview's icon, or select the file, *Get Info* on it, and in the *Open With...* menu in the Get Info window, select Preview.
A PDF file that won't open in Preview is an Acrobat-only file, and there's nothing you can do about that.
