How do you prevent deleting files when you log out of an account on a MacBook

I have set up a new account for my son on my MacBook.  I set parental controls.  It will not allow him to save files when he logs out.  How can I allow him to save files and then keep them when he logs out?

Selecting all does not help - the issue is I need a table within an incoming email to be moved to excel, edited and then pasted back into a new email. "Select All" picks up the email headers, signatures, any messages around the table etc so that doesn't work. Also, as pointed out above Excel doesn't have a select all feature to get the tables back into the body of an email.
I just tried again going from Excel into Outlook 2011. No luck. All one column down the left side of the email. All columns are removed and text crammed into one column. Just to check I cut from one Excel document and pasted into another and it retained all formating just fine. It is only in and out of Outlook that seems to be the issue.

  • HT5500 how can you log out of your account. i don't like that the facebook app automatically logs me in even after i log out.

i want to enter my password every time i get into facebook

You can still access facebook outside of the integration. I do it all the time. You just have to do it differently. I choose to access facebook via safari so I can upload photos, comment on posts, etc.
THere are also third party apps that can be used to access facebook with a bit more control than the integration.
The facebook and twitter integration assumes that you want to be logged in all the time, every time and post anything and everything to their services.
The only way you can really control what you put on facebook or twitter is to not use the integration and use apps or a browser.
For your situation, try using safari and then tell it to not remember your passworld. That should force you to log in each time. If it won't remember that then use Safari and log out each time so you always have to log in.

  • How do you log out?

How do you log out of a forum? Is it at all possible?
Seems I am logged in to any forum I go to if I switch between different ones, even ones I never previously used to be a member of. So am I now a member of all existing forums just because I logged in?
I've actually been a member of several Adobe forums since 2002, but today they all consider me a new member who only joined today and gave me a screenname I  haven't used for quite some time. Not funny.

Chronological discussions are not confusing in the slightest. It couldn't be simpler to clarify what you are replying to if necessary.
Actually, it could be a lot simpler.  The system could add who you are replying to automatically.
But; if it isnt obvious to you; Im not going to be able to convince you.
Curt, please listen to me. First off, pointing out that some new features do not seem to be an improvement doesn't put me in dinosaur territory.
Second, even if we added an extra 'feature' of telling me who is being replied to, that doesn't tell me what they said. To know that I'd have to start jumping back and forth. If I don't even realise that an apparent non sequitur is because a person is replying to something a couple of pages back - because they are using threaded view - that's a recipe for confusion.
Before, if we needed to reply to a post some way back, we'd swipe through the relevant text - as more than one post was visible when replying, another new annoyance - add a greater than symbol, paste and carry on.
How do you think people will react if they've never been here before, have no clue about what threaded/flat views even are?
I don't particularly like threaded view, partly because of the ever-shrinking width, but I'd live with it if everyone used it.
If I insisted on living in the past I'd still be using Pagemaker or Quark and Pagemill - but you don't have to lose your critical faculties every time someone waves something new and shiny in front of your eyes.

I can't see an obvious log out function but Twitter menu > Preferences > Accounts and you can remove the account.  It's only entering the username and password to log back in.

  • How do you log out of yahoo mail on ipad ?

How do you log out from Yahoo Mail on a Ipad?

Using the mail app? You don't. THe ipad was created to be a single user device so there's no support for locking down any single part of it.
If you have your mail and want to keep it from other users, your best bet is to access yahoo via safari where you can log in and log out. You still get your mail access but it can be locked out as well.

  • How can I stop my login screen changing to shrunken dimensions when I log out from my account, it does so randomly!

    Hi,
Does anybody know how I might fix the followin:
When I log out of my user account on my macbook the screen display has started to do weird stuff like change size so that the usual log in screen appears small and to the left, not filling the whole screen, then if someone else in the familiy logs in to their user they may have the same problem within their usual screen, with a small area instead of the full screen to work with. THe remaining screen displays blue, without the chosen wall paper etc. It seems to do this randomly so that logging in and out of accounts, shutting down and reopening can get things back to normal, but only until it goes weird again.
    Thank you for any help.
    Billie

It sounds like a problem wih the backlight inverter. Usually they just go, instead of on and off.
In a dark room hold a flashlight on the display when it blacks out. If you can see the items on the desktop, it's probably the backlight.

  • How do you log out of firefox support

I am curious as to how to log out of Firefox support when I am finished with questions and answers?

If you scroll up to the top of the page, you should find your username as one of the menus. That one has a "Sign Out" option.

  • HT5500 How do you log out of twitter on iphone 5 useing ios6 as you now longer can!!

Can no longer log out of twitter on iphone 5 and ipad useing ios 6,any answer ??

Found this on the web - no guarantees.
On the phone, simply go to settings, then Twitter, and at the allow box, switch to off.
This removes your account details from the Twitter app.
When you go back to the Twitter app, click "don't allow" to remain signed out or "OK" to log back in.
Alternatively you can log back in by going back to your settings and changing the "allow" setting to "On".
Note that there is no "sign out" option on the Twitter app itself.
The old method of deleting your account within the Twitter app is no longer possible.

How do I log out of hotmail after I have finished using it on the iPad 3 thanks

If you are accessing Hotmail through Safari, or other web browser, there should be some sort of logout button. If you are accessing it through the built in Mail app, you don't log in and out.

Use to avoid the logoff problem
Open the account you want it permanently off of, go to the desktop, right click on My Computer, and hit Manage.
Hit Services & Applications>Services>iPodsrv (or iPodservice, it's an older version).
Double click, set the 'startup type' to Disabled, and it won't open in that account.
Rinse, repeat for any other accounts as needed.

  • How do you log out a specific user

We have a system page in our application that displays all the users currently logged into the system. This page can be accessed by developers and administrators. On this page we want the ability to be able to force a particular user to be logged out.
So, if I am logged in as administrator JoeSchmo and I want to purge JaneDoe from the system, is there a way to do this? The logout and invalidate methods are for the current request object which would be for the current user and not a different user logged into the system so I am not even sure if what I am asking is possible. Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
The specific solution would take into consideration the specifics of the web application, but from the web application container point of view the proper thing would be to invalidate the users session. To do this, you will have to keep track of all the sessions (this is the HttpSession object) for all users that are currently logged in, and invalidate it to force the re-login of the user.
