How do you put music on an iPhone that is not synced to your computer?
Want to put some music on my daughter's iPhone without syncing it to mine. Other than manually managing music what else do I need to do?

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple. -

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone.

You can't move/copy music from your Music app to another device via BT.
