Just bought my first app on the App Store (Pixalmator). Pretty cool. It drops the app on your doc and it looks like when you buy or update an app on your iPhone (little progress bar under it as it downloads). In the past, most application I purchase on-line come in a .dmg file. I can then store that off and back it up. If I ever need to re-install the app, I have it installer. Now, I don't really have an installer, just the app. How do we back it up and re-install it in the future? Like if I get a new mac or replace the hard drive, etc.?

You just do it through the App store. When you are logged into the app store you can just reinstall it on that computer without paying for it. That's how it works by design. Alternatively because of that you can install that purchased app on all of your computers. Now the catch is when there is a FULL PAID UPGRADE you would then have to purchase it all over again. But for right now you should be able to log into the app store and just redownload/install it

I installed Photoshop CC the other day and it seems in didn't install correctly even tho the application manager thinks it did. When I try to open it I get this error
I went to re-install the app through the application manager but noticed that there isnt an option to do so. It thinks everything installed correctly
So I uninstalled Photoshop CC and was about to re-install it when I noticed that Adobe Application manager still thinks it's installed. Surely I don't have to restart to remind it that its uninstalled? And surely there must be a way of re-installing an application rather than having to unisntall and then re-install.
Any one know?

You first need to uninstall the application completely.
In Mac :-- Applications --->Utilities --->Adobe Installers
in Adobe installers you will find the uninstaller for Indesign CC just run that and complete the uninstallation.
In window :-- Control panel ---> programs and features --> uninstall Indesign cc.
After doing this you can launch Creative cloud desktop ---> log out and log back in.
You should see the option to install the software again.

iCloud is probably being used to store your Contacts so perhaps you really just want to turn off iCloud backups. Use the Settings app.
Settings > iCloud > Turn off Backup
After you turn off iCloud backup be sure to initiate some other backup strategy. Backing up to iTunes is a good alternative.

Yes. Control Panel for Windows.
On the Mac under Applications look in the Utiilities folder and you will see an Adobe Installers folder. Inside there you will see links like 'Uninstall Adobe InDesign CS6'.

All content is tied to the account, but you can change the primary email address on an account e.g. you can log into your account via the Store > View Account on your computer's iTunes and there should be an Edit button to the right of your account id on your account's page, or similarly on your iPad try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and view your account. Or you can update it by logging into it via this page http://appleid.apple.com . You shouldn't lose any content on the account if you update it.
After updating the account you may need to log out of your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in with the updated version for it to be 'refreshed' on it
