I don't believe it's possible under the standard "Photos" app (built-in) in iOS.
However, there appear to be many downloadable apps that will allow you to do this. Search the App Store for something like "photo sort".

  • How do I rearrange photos in an album using iOS5?

I want to rearrange photos in an album. IOS5 advertising says I can do this but I can't discover how. HELP!

You cannot rearrange the order of photos in iPhoto for iOS.
You can rearrange the order of albums in the Photos app but this rearrangement does not transfer over to iPhoto for iOS.

  • How do you delete photos from the albums on 4S?

How do you delete photo's and why is there the camera roll and Iphone roll? most ae duplicates?

Photos synced to iphone have never had a trash can.  You delete them the same way you put them there - the sync process.
If you do not want something on the iphone, then go to the phtos tab, deselect it and sync.
Photo Album is not a duplicate.  It is simply another place from which to access the same pics as you have in your synced albums.  This is how iphone handles photos - always has.
All photos synced to iphone can be accessed from Photo Library.  Those very same photos can alos be accessed from your individual photo albums.

  • How do you rearrange photos in an iPhoto library?

I am trying to rearrange photos in iPhoto so I can make a slideshow that makes sense.  I can't seem to move photos once they are there.

Where are you trying to rearrange the photos?  In the slideshow mode or in an album?
In the slideshow you can drag a photo from one position in the thumbnail tray at the top to wherever you wnat it.
In an album use the View ➙ Sort ➙ Manual menu option to let you drag the photos into any order you'd like.
What system and iPHoto verson are you using? Are you really running 10.3.6?

  • How do you move photos from one album to another?

I imported a few photos from my iphone 4 into my new ipad using Bump. The ipad put these photos into an album. I'd like to be able to organize some of these into different albums and also name the albums. I don't want to sync all my photos from my phone...there are way too many so I kept sync photos unchecked in itunes. Is there a way to do this on the ipad itself without any outside help?
    Thank you

There is no way to do what you are asking.
Organizing photos takes place on your computer, not the iPad.

  • How do you rearrange photos in iPhoto's on iPad.

In the help drop down in iPhoto it says that you can drag to rearrange photos.  I can't get this to work and I want to reorder my photos.

That help item is only telling you that you can drag the top bar to make it larger or narrower. This rearranges the photos into one, two or three columns. I wish we could drag photos to put them into a different order but it seems one cannot.

  • How do you put photos in different albums

I can put photos I take into the original album that comes with the phone.  I created a new album and named it.  I can then copy a photo from teh original album into the newly created album.  When I go to delete the photo from the original album, it says that there are multiple copies that will be deleted.  I only want to delete one.  any way to just have the photo go to a particular album in the first place?

The photos will always be in the camera roll.  There are not two copies, there are simply two places fomr which to access the same photos.
Just as a book can be in the library and in the fiction section, a photo is in camera roll and in the album you created.

  • How do you remove photos from an album?

    Hello,
I can't believe I'm having to ask how to do this in a forum, but I can't work out how to do it so have to:
How can I remove some images (a number of them just in case it's different from just one) from an album?
I've tried selecting a number of images then looking uner all the menu options (none that'll do what I want that I can see), control clicking to see the options (none that'll do what I want that I can see), dragging images over into the trash (just creates a new album with the dragged images), pressing delete (nothing), pressing delete while apple key pressed (nothing).
And also, how c-r-a-p is it that I have to write into a forum to find out the answer to such a simple question?! Quite humilaiating but in fact it should be seen as a flaw in the app as I have tried all reasonable things to delete some sodding images from an album.
Any ideas how to do such an obviously tricky thing would be very much apprecaited.
    TIA, John
edit: the album I'm trying to remove images from is a dark blue one with a circle, not a light blue one -- that seems to make a difference. I can remove from light blue ones. I made the album I'm trying to remove from by using "New Smart Album" and choosing before today's date to get all the images in iPhoto into a new album from which I can selectively remove from -- although I can't remove from -- that's what this question is aboute.
    Thanks.

It's a challenge to imagine what you consider to be "reasonable".
No need to imagine: the things I tried and consider reasonable to delete some images from an album were listed above what you quoted.
The concept of "smart albums" would seem, by definition, to exclude the manual addition of images to (or deletion from) such an album.
Not necessarily but if that's what the situation is OK. Not necessarily because the "smartness" may only take place when the album is created, or on a continual basis. So it's on a continual basis I guess that the smartness takes place. Then it isn't a smart album I want to be using in the first place. I'm trying to simply start off with all images in iPhoto and remove/pick away until I've got the ones I want. Using the smart album at the time seemed like the only quick way to get a new album containing all the images in iPhoto. I tried dragging all the images into a new album before using the smart album to make the new album and it started to take ages so I looked for a quicker way to duplicate all of iPhotos images into a new album.
So my question is now: what's the quickest way to make a new album of all the images in iPhoto?
    thanks.

Have you used the built-in migration plug-in? I'm not sure how LR handles iPhoto albums or events. there have been several reports indicating varying levels of success or otherwise, with import.
See my comments on this similar thread which also has a link to users comments on the LR journal blog.

When you have selected an album, look at the third line: there is a 'Sort by' button. Just choose 'album order' and move your thumbnails around in the display space.

  • How do you save photos from import or Photo Stream to an album?

How do you save photos from import or photo stream to an album?  I have a MacBook Air (which keeps telling me my start-up disk is full) and I am trying to organize photos so there aren't duplicates and triples.  I have photos in events, last import, photos and albums....I feel like they are all taking up space.  If I move a photo from photo stream to an album, then delete the photo from photo steam its deleted from the album.  That doesn't make sense to me.  There should be a way to clean up photo stream, and events, and last import by putting photos into albums.  Even more bizarre; I imported photos from my 4S, and only a fraction of them transferred over.
I am completely lost.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you!
    sarah

and I am trying to organize photos so there aren't duplicates and triples.  I have photos in events, last import, photos and albums....I feel like they are all taking up space.
    Sarah,
Only the photos you are seeing in the events and the Photo Stream will take up space. iPhoto stores each photo only one. After you import it, it will be assigned to one event.
Then you can use it in many albums and projects. Using the photo this way will only reference the one single copy of the photo in the event. The albums don't store the photos and do not require additional space. If you delete a photo from an event, it will be removed from all albums that have been using the this photos.
What you are seing are not actually duplicate photos but different ways to access the same photos.
The "Last event" is the same event as the last one you imported. It is there for a quick access to your recently imported photos.  Photos is a quick access to all photos in your library as an endless stream of photos. These are also no duplicates.
So if you want to save space and delete photos, do that by browsing your events. Deleting a photo from an event will delete the original image file and remove the photo from all albums, books, and other products. You have only duplicate photos, if you are seing the same photo twice in an event.
Even more bizarre; I imported photos from my 4S, and only a fraction of them transferred over.
That is a different problem, but it may be related to to fact that you need to free space.
If you get a warning, that the system needs space, don't do anything but update the backup of your mac and move files to an external disk to free space.
It is not save to keep working, when the system is running out of space.
How much free space do you have? Anything below 15GB free space is really critical.
