How do you replace the main start up drive?
My main drive is full and I want to replace it with a larger drive. How do you go about upgrading the hard drive as a start up disk?

Stick a new drive in a free bay. Format it with Disk Utility. And then use a backup utility like Carbon Copy Cloner to copy your current drive to the new drive essentially making them equivalent. Then change Startup Disk system preferences to use the new drive and reboot (from your new drive) and continue on your merry way.
Keep the original as a backup. -
Hi. Apparently none of the links work on the sony site for this product (Sony CFD S300 CD Radio Cassette Recorder). Does anyone know what the part number is for the optical pick up (laser)? They have them on eay for around $10 but i do not know which one to get. Also anyone have directions on how to replace it? There is a soder ball somewhere too. Thanks!!
Hi LifelongCamper,
There are two Optical pickups available for the CD player. Part #s of the Optical pickups for this CD player are 882016102 and 884848312. You can purchase “882016102” from below provided link:

Instructions to replace internal parts of the CD player are not made available to end users. -
How do you find the size of a current layer so you can make other layers the same size
When I have an PSD icon set and I want to size a layer to a size that looks good. How do I see the dimentions of that layer so that I can select another layer and make it the same size.
well that's my point Chris. I have a PSD that has 150 icons in it. I want to take 5 of them and make them the same size 300 x 300 from the 180 that they are.
If I select one and then press Apple T, I can see that it is 180 x 180 in the info window. I can then go to the transform bar at the top where it says 100% x 100% and type in 180px then 180px in the other.

Or duplicate the layer and replace the contents...
Then repeat for the other 4 layers. Is this the correct way (easiest?) How do you replace the layer after duplicating it. -

I Just synced my iPhone and lost all the info in notes I had on the phone. How do you have the info sync from phone to desktop and not the other way around as I usually make contact changes etc on my phone. I would then like to be able to sync that info from desktop to ipad thanks
It does make sense. The iPhone is a one-person device and just syncs to one computer.
The way it should work is as follows:
Old computer content ---> New computer
New computer <---> syncs to iPhone
But the way you are trying to operate sounds like:
Old computer content ---> iPhone
... and ...
New computer content <---> iPhone
So simply move your old stuff (either directly from iTunes, or from a computer backup) to the new computer, have it all there, then sync your iPhone to the new machine. -
How do I replace the main SATA HD in my macbook pro 9,2 with an SSD?
Can anyone direct me to photo directions for replacing the main HD in my macbookpro? Do I need a caddy to install a 2.5 SSD? I am not trying to replace the superdrive, so those caddies are not what I am looking for. CAn I just install the SSD in the same space left for the main SATA drive without using any adapter?
You can install the SSD in the same bay as your current HDD. You don't need a caddy.
Here's a link on iFixit.com with pictures of how to replace the HDD on a Macbook Pro. Same instructions apply when replacing the HDD with an SSD. I recently replaced a 320GB HDD in my early-2011 13" MBP with an SSD. Very easy to do. -

Just how do you do an internet recovery on a system that has a blank HDD with no operating system that the unit cannot boot from????
If your Mac came preinstalled with Lion or Mountain Lion after you install your new blank HDD, restart the Mac while pressing/holding the COMMAND+OPTION+R keys until you see a spinning globe. Make sure you have an Internet connection (WiFi or Ethernet). This will boot into Apple's Recovery HD servers and present you with the OS X Utilities Menu. From there you can select Disk Utility to format your new HDD and then reinstall Mac OS X for the OS that was preinstalled.
Internet Recovery doesn't care if you have an unformated HDD because it boots over the Internet to Apple's servers, not your HDD. -

Edited by: Ram Vungarala on Sep 24, 2008 9:15 AMHi,
I'm not sure if I understood what are you trying to do. But you can modify your table in a backing bean code. JSF page code for a table:
<af:table id="product_search_results_tbl" binding="#{backingBean.boundTable}" ... />
And a backing bean code:
import oracle.adf.view.faces.component.core.data.CoreTable;
public class YourBackingBean {
private CoreTable boundTable;
public void setBoundTable(CoreTable boundTable) {
this.boundTable = boundTable;
public CoreTable getBoundTable() {
return boundTable;
public String insertButtonAction() {
// Bind your button action to this method and modify here your bound table
return null;
{code}
Look for column modification methods in a CoreTable class documentation.

How can I replace the cursor in the below query?
I have this below query which calls a stored procedure that takes only 1 item's attributes at a time. But because of performance problems we are
required to remove the cursor. How can I replace the below cursor logic with set operations or CTE? Please advice.
DECLARE db_cursor_ava CURSOR

t.[end-date],
t.[monitor-days],
t.[monitor-start],

SET @runID = 1
IF(@endDateTime_ava>DATEADD(MI,@offset_ava, GETUTCDATE()))
BEGIN
SET @endDateTime_ava=DATEADD(MI,@offset_ava, GETUTCDATE())
END
INSERT INTO @tmpMonitorPeriod
EXEC core.usp_GetMonitoringPeriod
@startDate = @stDateTime_ava,
@endDate = @endDateTime_ava,
@monitoringDays = @monDays_ava,
@monitoringStart = @monSt_ava,
@monitoringEnd = @monEnd_ava
SELECT @maxID = MAX(tm.id)
FROM @tmpMonitorPeriod tm
FETCH NEXT FROM db_cursor_ava INTO @agentID_ava,
@stDateTime_ava,
@endDateTime_ava,
@monDays_ava,
@monSt_ava,

CLOSE db_cursor_ava
DEALLOCATE db_cursor_ava
mayooran99You've been down this path before - and the response is exactly the same.
how to replace cursor logic
And I'll suggest that you post the entire code - since you repeatedly delete 2 table variables but only populate one. The setting of @maxID also seems to have no purpose. And perhaps the issue here isn't the cursor but the general approach. Who knows
- but it appears you may have prematurely assumed that the cursor is the problem. -
How do you open the DVD tray on a K430 without using Windows Explorer?
How do you open the DVD tray on a K430 without using Windows Explorer? I can't find a button on or below the door. Am I missing something? Additionally, will the K430 boot from a DVD/CD if it finds one in the DVD tray instead of the hard disk? Please help. Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.hi penguin247,
Regarding your questions:
1. Can you try to press the eject symbol on the DVD bay and observe if the DVD tray comes out.
Link to picture
2. By default, the HDD is set as the first boot device and the ODD second on the K430. You will need to change the boot order or continuously tap F12 during POST to boot from the ODD (assuming you have a bootable media inserted).

How do you install the OS on a new hard-drive?
I have a Thinkpad T400 and I just received a new HDD today. I would like to reinstall windows and I have created 3 DVD's with the Create Product Recovery Media software. However, when the first disk loads up it asks me to insert the OS reinstall disk. It seems that none of the 3 DVD's I burned can be used for this. Am I doing something wrong? How can I install the OS that my Thinkpad came with onto this new HDD that I just purchased?

I ran into exactly the same problem. I can't get past the first Start Recovery Disk. That one went without a problem. Then,when asked for the 'set of Operating Recovery Disks", I inserted the Product Recovery Disk 1 that I downloaded and it replies 'wrong disk'. I tried the Product Recovery Disk 2 and got the same reply.
Any ideas? Thanks
Hi and welcome to the forum fomiga!
How did you download the disc? Elaborate, please!
