How do you restore your iphone from a certain date?
Is there a way to restore your iphone 4s from a certain date (i.e. the last time you synced)? I downloaded a program today that enables me to access work email from my iphone; however, the security restrictions it has put into place on my phone (not my employer's phone) are making me want to remove the program. I have been told by out IT department that I can only restore my iphone & start over from scratch.
Well, if you create iCloud backups, they overwrite one another every night around 1:30 AM, so that may not be so helpful unless of an emergency. The only other way is through an iTunes backup. When an iTunes backup is overwritten, it is sent to the recycling bin. It may take a while to determine which backup you want to open in iTunes, but once you do, you can restore your phone to the backup date of your choice.

If you bought the apps via iTunes, they will be on your computer. If you bought them with the iPhone, syncing would have transferred them. Look for them in:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Mobile Applications
Photos taken with the iPhone are transferred via iPhoto or Image Capture when the phone is connected to the computer. Other photos on the phone must have been synched from the computer, so should still be there. -

ThanksI should have added I could also restore my playlists from my one of the ipods, ipads, or iphones if anyone can give advice. I have turned off the auto syn in itunes so that I can plug them into the new computer.

It sounds a lot like your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it prior to your trying to update it.
If that is the case, it is nowpermanently bricked. -

The iPhone 3G is Not Compatible with iOS 6...
It also appears that your phone may have been Hacked and / or Jailbroken...
If this is the case... you are out of luck... Because...

Let's say, I have an Iphone 3GS and it was synced to my older pc (I know...) and it crashed and I can't retrieve my files on there. I have also been told I should download update from I Tunes and have not been successful doing that either. When syncing you receive a warning that you are about to remove all content from your iphone (device)!!! I don't/can't have this happen!! I have the music and calenders etc on iCloud but the Apps don't get stored there (as far as I'm aware).
Should I de-register the old PC first? Will that then signal iTunes that this is OK to syc the apps with the new??
