HOW DO YOU REVEAL THE WHOLE OF THE DESKTOP PHOTO USING THE TRACKPAD?

When I swipe the trackpad to show the current windows open - i.e 3 Safari windows, sometimes when I swipe to return to the original page all the windows disappear and you can only see the complete dektop picture - o folders or icons form the desktop but ONLY the picture, I have tried playing around with the trackpad as I would like to know how I did it, I have looked through the preferences etc and can't see it, the ony time I seem to do it is when I'm not thinking about it!!

It took a little while before I discovered the trick, so follow these instructions. (I use a Magic Trackpad on my iMac and a similar shortcut with the MBP.)
1. Let's suppose you have Safari open. Use a three-fingered gesture, swiping in the upward direction, so you can see your Dashboard, Desktop, and whatever other programs that are open.
2. Move your cursor the upper right hand side of the screen, and a large "+" will appear. That's the way you can add more virtual desktops.
3. Select the "+", then select a field that should have a name like "Desktop 2." When you click on this small field, it will occupy the entire screen.The Dashboard and Safari display won't be visible, even though they're both active.
4. If you want to delete "Desktop 2", use the three-finger swipe-up, and select "Desktop 2"; when you pur your cursor on this small virtual desktop, you'll see a circled "x" in the upper left corner. Choose it, and virtual desktop 2 will disppear.
Play around with the feature to make it your own.

You can share an AppleID between individuals for purchases from iTunes (music, movies, TV shows, books, etc.) while each having an individual iCloud account for syncing your personal calendar, contacts and iCloud files.
In my household......
We have a single AppleID for iTunes purchases which is used on all 8 of our iOS devics and 3 computers. That way all apps purchased from the Mac or iOS app stores or content from iTunes can be used on any device.
Each of us (3 of us) then has our own iCloud account. None of our iCloud accounts are the same as the AppleID. The iCloud accounts are used for device backups, contact and calendar syncing, iCloud document files and photostream.
This way, we all share apps and media, but our contacts and calendars are not mixed and neither are our documents. Each person having their own iCloud account also helps with space when dealing with device backups.

Settings/Control Center. There are two options which are pretty self-explanitory...one enables/disables access on the Lock Screen and one enables/disables access within apps/games.

In Inspector, select the Graphic Inspector. Choose, from the Fill options, Image Fill. Select the image from the dropdown and click Open. Now go back to Inspector and click on Scale to Fit. Choose from the options in the window. There are a number of them which should address your problem:
With the Blog template, you will probably need to insert a text box over the stock placement frame and work with that instead.

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
The sync the music to your iPod by:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad

You could duplicate the image (Ctrl+J)
Then apply some blur (Filter >> Blur >>Gaussian Blur)
That will blur the whole image so apply a layer mask and invert (press Ctrl+I)
Set foreground color chip to white and select the brush and choose a very small diameter. Then brush gently over the edges to reveal the blur.
You can switch the color chip to black to undo a mistake then back to white to continue.
Alternatively simply select the blur tool from the tools pallet (keep pressing the R key to tab tool choices) and blur the edges as wanted. It’s a little more crude but will probably do the job.

If you want to rearrange images in random order you can try an AppleScript:
retrieve a list of selected images from Aperture
shuffe the list properly
create an album in Aperture and add the images from the list to the album (make sure that the album set to be orederd manually)

I had an interesting conversation with a gentleman this week. He manages product marketing for a specific product in a large organization. They have a vision to segment and personalize communications. The problem is they cannot gain access to the data needed to segment and personalize. How have you overcome the challenge of data debilitation and succeeded in data transparency?

Hi Marilyn, it seems like a lot of people are having this problem. I read this eMarketer article recently called "Why Marketers Still Haven't Mastered Personalization" and it echoes that thought of not being able to access, analyze, and leverage that data to personalize customer experiences.
The approach many in the article are taking is to integrate different sources of data like from the CRM, Eloqua, Bizo, Demandbase, analytics platforms, and other sources of data to get that 360 degree view of the customer journey that's required to be relevant at every touchpoint moving forward. I think taking that approach (gathering and integrating customer data) is the best way to get started in delivering more personalized communications across channels.

In the Thread Pane where your messages are listed?
You see that bar with the labels "From", "Subject", "Date" and so on? Well, they are buttons. You can click on them to sort your messages. You can also drag them with the mouse left and right to reposition them, and you can drag their ends to change the column widths.
These are standard computer actions; you can do all of this in Windows Explorer ("My Computer") too.
In Thunderbird, a right-click on any of these buttons will reveal a pop-up menu where you can select and deselect the columns to control what is shown.

Hi there - I think I am having problems associated withg Cause 9 in that in google mail I have another pop email address associated so that I can send using this email address, but then I have both addresses setup seperately in BIS. When I receive a mail from GMAIL I receive a duplicate with "received by: unknown" in the header. I had gmail setup so that it would send using by pop email address as default.
In your answer the settings for the two filters you recommend creating are broken links and I canot actually see them. What are they?
Also What do you recommend setup wise with gmail and a pop account. Some people say it is better to get gmail to receive the pop mail account and run the whole account from there. Blackberry doesn't seem to like this setup very much. Should I completely dissociate the pop account and to try and clarify the distinction between the two? Or should I setup a second gmail account and have that poll my pop account and then have the blackberry feed off these two gmail accounts? The reason I am considering this option is gmail provides a lot of storage and online continuity and this would effectively persist my account.
Your help would be much appreciated.. I have had blackberry woes now for over a month and I have spent hours with various support personel, tried deleteing and sending down new service books etc etc but had no luck yet.

What I didn't mention is that I'm using PSE 5 with ACR 4.6, if its relevant. I'm thinking of updating to the next version when its out in the hope that it will run with Windows 7 64 bit or I may go to Lightroom.
I can now see that I can batch convert a whole folder of files using "process multiple files" as dj_paige suggested but that is too many at once as the settings I choose won't be relevant for all the pics in the folder.
I was hoping to batch convert say 5 or 6 similar photos at a time with the same settings. I'm not quite clear what you're suggesting but I'm hoping that its a "work round" using two stages to achieve this.
I can't see a list of open files within ACR to ensure that they are all selected as you suggest.
What does clicking Open rather than Done mean? Does this amend the original RAW file to the settings selected so that if I then "process multiple files" on the whole folder to convert from RAW to JPEG they will in fact have already been processed in smaller groups so I can convert without applying any further changes?
If so, what settings should I apply to "process multiple files" to ensure a simple conversion of file type rather than any further adjustments?
Any further help on this would be much appreciated.

It locks automatically when you hold it to your head.
If it fails to do this, then remove the case and see if it solves it.
If it does not, then do the basics - restart, reset, restore.
If that does not solve it, then make an appointment at the genius bar.

Use NVL or COALESCE:
NVL (col_a, col_b)
Returns col_a if col_a is not NULL; otherwise, it returns col_b.
Col_a and col_b must have similar (if not identical) datatypes; for example, if col_a is a DATE, then col_b can be another DATE or it can be a TIMESTAMP, but it can't be a VARCHAR2.
