How do you save pictures displayed by flash player

I would like to know how you save pictures that are displayed
by flash player. there are websites that I go to that use flash
player to display pictures and photos and I'm wondering if it's
possible to save those pictures.

This is the same thing that I'm trying to figure out.

How do you save pictures through the recovery mode. I have the black screen with cursor and despite trying all the tips noted here nothing seems to fix the issue. These have included using Utility disk to re-install OS-X, repairing the disks. Also tried the holding shift on start up and entering username and password. Also tried internet recovery and then repair and re-install. Nothing works!
Happy to restore from a back up, but I have been rubbish and not backed up for a long time. Also happy to delete and re-install completely but don't want to loose pics.
Please let me know any suggestions!!

no, I just want to save pictures so that they won't be dowloadable from my web site, but I suppose, my designer is taking care of that. I was looking for a way to protect the pictures I send as submissions to web sites, which, in turn, may publish on their own web site without my ok, but i guess, if I sent them, they are downloadable, there is nothing i can do. I know the digimarc, I already tried it.
By the way, while i am here, it's a disater since I posted that question, I am still receing HUNDREDS of mails from the mc book air community. I checked "your stuff" and it says I am not following any community, and
only "receive mail from announcement posts I create " is checked. I just resaved, and they are still coming.......

How do you remove older versions of flash player?

I have uninstalled the flash player and re-installed with the
new version, but I am still unable to get rid of version 9.0.115.0.
I can not find anything on the adobe site to remedy this. This is
my first laptop and don't want any unnecessary vulnerabilities on

I have Macromedia Flash Player versions 4.0.7.0, 6.0.80.0,
6.0.79.0 and 7.0.19.0 on my system and have tried using the Adobe
uninstaller multiple time to no avail (does it just uninstall from
the browser?). Anyway, I agree it appears these old files may be
vulnerable. Why does Adobe make it so difficult to remove old
programs? By the way they do not appear in my Windows Add/Remove
list. Please give us some specific method to remove them (not just
another reference to the uninstaller). Thank you

Dumb question #1, how do you save pictures from a webpage?

sorry, but i'm a an x-pc owner and all you had to do is right click on an image and choose save. i'm hoping there's as easy a way to do this with my mac. all i've been able to do is save the whole page.
any help would be greatly appreciated,

Niel pretty much told you exactly how to do it. Hold down "ctrl" and then click the pic, a menu will open and give you options, select save. I prefer just to double click the picture and then drag it to my desktop or wherever I want the picture saved to. Those are the two primary methods I use most of the time.
Every now and then you'll come across a protected website or a flash website where you won't be able to save the picture. In these cases, neither the "ctrl" click nor the click and drag methods will work. What I do to get the pic is use Grab. Grab is a great program that should have come preinstalled on your powerbook. It was in mine. You can find it in your applications or using Spotlight. Anyway, when you open Grab, you can capture images using four methods found under the “Capture” tab at the top of the screen. The methods are:
1. Selection – able to drag a box around the image and then capture just the pic.
2. Window – select a window and it will capture an image of the entire window.
3. Screen – captures an image of everything on your screen.
4. Timed Screen – the same as the screen method, but captures the screen after 10 seconds.
Each of these methods has a shortcut that will speed things up. I keep Grab in my doc for easier access when I need to use it. It’s very useful. I hope this has helped!! Let us know if you have any further questions.

I just switched from Firefox because I'm thinking of getting a Mac someday and wanted to adjust to some of the software. I love Safari but it's missing something Safari had. When you right-click on a picture in Firefox there's an option to 'set as desktop background'. Is there a way to do that for Safari? Thanks.

As the other poster says, it doesn't look like this option exists yet. (I expect it will appear sometime, especially given that it's in the Mac version of the product ..they probably just had other priorities with what they wanted in the first non-beta release.)
But in the mean time, it's just one more step: Right-click and use the "Save image to Desktop" option, or whatever save option you have, or drag it to the desktop, then double-click on it (it will probably open in the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer), and from there you can right-click and use the "Set as Desktop Background" option.
Me, I'm a bit of a perfectionist with these things: I prefer to save it, then open in Photoshop and crop and tweak it so it looks perfect. (IrfanView is a good Photoshop-substitute for these kind of tasks.)

In the image above the text that I circled in red is unreadable in flash in Chrome. I know it's flash because if I go to the security settings pannel (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l) for flash it shows the same type of unreadable font... it might be readable if it was a bit bigger. Is there a way to change this? The same font in Firefox is completely legible...

Fine, I know how it can be done ONCE : you simply flatten the image and then hit Save, and you see your edited image in iPhoto.
But, what if you FIRST want to save the .psd document complete with layers outside iPhoto, THEN flatten the image and save as a jpeg back to iPhoto? I tried this yesterday. I saved as a PSD file - with all layers and a new name - to my Pictures folder. Then I flattened the image and wanted to save it to iPhoto, but the temporary iPhoto location had disappeared from the Photoshop Save dialogue and Photoshop now displayed it under the new name.
This is annoying : you've got to save the PSD document first in order to preserve the layers. But when you do this, you lose the ability to save the image a second time, all layers flattened, back to iPhoto.

But if I'd flattened the psd without saving it as a psd, I could simply have saved it back to iPhoto (I've done that before).
Hold on - perhaps that's the answer...
What if..
1. I flatten the image and Save it back to iPhoto, then ...
2. Undo the 'flatten image' in Photoshop, then save THAT version as a psd?
I'll try this and let you know if it works.
ETA - Yay it works! Shoulda thought of that right off. I blame toothache
