How do You See Anchor Points When Object is Unselected

Hi, In Adobe Illustrator is there any way of viewing the anchor points of objects permanently even when an object is unselected? So you can see where the points are when you are making shapes with the pen tool. If there was, this would make it a lot easer to place the points on existing points of other shapes without having to guess where they are. Thanks for you help Gareth.

Oh no! I just noticed when using it, that it is not as useful as I thought, because if you want to put a point anywhere near the 90º or 45º line from the last one it forces you to put in on that line, it's great that it lets you see the points on the other shapes but too bad it makes you do that. and you can't turn off smart guides while making a shape because it stops that shape and starts a new one. That's a bit annoying, so it's still easier to do it without smart guides guessing where the points are and correct them later with the white arrow if you missed any. Thanks for you help though. I have an array with about 100 containers in it. My main thread uses a ForEach loop with an inner case structure with six possibilities. My previous program had all the steps in a very long list, executing them one by one. I find this new approach is much nicer to look at, and easier to change, but there isn't really any way of telling how far along the test is (unless you know it by heart). In the long list approach, you could see all the Done/Passed outcomes and how many remained, now there is no way of telling.
Any tips on making some kind of progress indication?

As ObjectReference parameter, you should use 'Nothing'. The last parameter (synchronuous?) you can choose true or false. Please refer to the documentation of PostUIMessageEx for further information.
The numeric parameter should range between 0-100. Since it is "Progress Percent", this makes sense, does it?
The status bar has several panes, one e.g. displaying the logged in user or the used process model. The pane on the right most side will display the Progress Percent if used in your sequence.
The default reporting, as already stated, includes this feature. So if you have a sequence with e.g. 500 steps, the reporting "will have a visible progress" in that pane (with less than 100 steps, it is most often too fast to see). Remember that NI Sequence Editor and the Full Featured User Interfaces do have this feature, the Simple UI does not have it.

How do you select anchor points on a brush stroke?

Hi, This may be a stupid question but i'm new to flash.
I am doing rotoscoping and draw with the brush tool on a new layer over the top of a live action video.
I would like to be able to use the subselection tool on my previously drawn brush lines and move segments of the lines rather than redrawing them for the next frame.
The problem is that with the subselect tool I can only seem to select points either on the inside or outside of the brush line, meaning I can only expand part of the line. I would like to be able to select the matching inside and outside points at the same time and move them together.

I'm using CS6, and I have a tree vector image, and I am trying to put names on top, but when I do this to keep it clean with no anchor points (as my other software cant read it with all the points in it) I have to manually delete each one but it deletes the whole path and I then end up with a tree, names on top, and a big gappy circle around the names.
So really, I wanted to add the names on top, and have that delete all anchors underneath .
Does this make sense? :S

The usual reason for not being able to download is that Premiere Pro (and other video apps such as After Effects) are 64 bit only so they require a 64 bit computer and a 64 bit operating system.
If you're running a 32 bit computer and operating system then you will not see the Premiere Pro icon since the software will not run on your computer.

Thanks to this forum I have found out that the photo files on my Web site are stored in the Domain file under Application Support. How do you see the contents of this file? When I double-click on it, iWeb launches and I see the actual Web site.

i don't think it will work. because when you open up the domain file after you changed the size of the pictures, iWeb will probably save again while uploading - so the changes were for nothing. yet i haven't tried it.
other way is to change them after you published. using graphic converter you just drag all at once in and change all the sizes at once.

How do you add a Comment when editing a document in Word for ipad. I've subscribed to Office, so have full editing functions. Can Track changes etc in Review, but can't see how to add a marginal Comment.

Comments, like they are in Numbers for OS X, are not really supported in iOS. Normally, they rely on a mouse-over to read them. Since there is no mouse on the iPad, it stands to reason they are not there.
I believe Eric Ross's comments is more geared towards used said Numbers docs on iWork.com.

3D PSD file import : how to change 3D anchor point in AE ? Challenge..!

Hello everyone,
I've successfully imported a 3D file from Photoshop Extended CS4 into AE CS4. In AE, I can sucessfully animate rotation of the 3D object.
Here's the problem : I cannot change the 3D object's anchor point. I've tried changing the anchor point's coordinates on the controller layer of the 3D object layer, the numers change, but the anchor point remains at its initial position, as if it was locked.
I also thought changing the anchor point in PS Extended before importing the file into AE, but PS Extended does not seem to have an anchor point changing tool.
So I even reasoned back one step : changing the anchor point in my 3D software since the beginning. Well, not possible because PS Extended seems to create an average position for the anchor point when impoting a 3D file from a third party software. So useless changing the coordinates in the 3D software.
Photoshop Extended 3D is the only possible workflow to import 3D objects into AE that I know of.
So, is is possible to change the 3D anchor point directly in After Effects ? What blocks that point from being changed ?
This is quite a challenging problem, good luck for finding a solution ! I'm very sure that this technique is commonly needed and used when working in 3D, and that it will be of great help for many designers that want 3D in After Effects !

Note : please do not confuse simple After Effects standard 3D layer, with the 3D PSD file import layer, these are two totally different types

This is driving me insane as well...
I'm trying to create a simple comp within AE and have my clients logo fly on behind their text while rotating in 3D space.
The idea is for it to rotate on the X axis, but rotate within the logo itself (straight through the axis within the logo itself)
But when I try to rotate it, the AP is about 2.5 "logo depths" away from the logo, so when the rotation of any axis starts it looks ridiculous.
Are Adobe really trying to tell us that moving the AP is not possible within AE for imported Live Photoshop PSD files?
Hopefully a solution comes along soon as I cannot for the life of me figure out a workaround to the problem......

I was not able to find this in the online materials about the pen tool. In fact, Illustrator Help | Adjust path segments does not show the new functionality at all. They need to update that article.
Better way to implement the new functionality
It would have been nice if Adobe added to the chording controls for the direct select tool the ability to toggle this setting temporarily by holding down the space bar after mouse down to drag a segment.
Before mouse down this would give the user the hand tool.
If, after mouse down, I could hold space bar and have the behavior switch from the historical capability where dragging a segment cannot change adjacent segments to the new behavior where dragging the segment cannot move anchors but can rotate them, I am sure I would find times when the tool saved time. If, before mouse up, I release spacebar, turn the constraint back on with anchors pointing in their new directions and allow me to stretch the curve protecting the new shapes of adjacent curves.
Using space bar for this would be intuitive to me because holding down the space bar is something I already do to organically drag the page around with the hand tool. The new tool allows me to more organically stretch artwork around, something that is distantly analogous, but close enough to remember.
For long time Illustrator users, the chording features holding Ctrl/Alt/Shift/Space or Ctrl/Command/Shift/Space in different combinations while using the direct select tool and pen tool is the killer app part of Illustrator that keeps us using it. This what we did on Illustrator 88 on a Mac Plus in 1988 and is still the most productive way to produce vector art when precision is required.
