How do you select some pictures  as opposed to an entire in Photo Album

I am Trying out Light room and so far notfinding it not very friendly. when I open a Folder of pictures. even though Ichoose certain one to create a Photo Album to put on a Website it wants to put everything in not just what I select.

You select an image by clicking on it - either in the Grid View or in the filmstrip at the bottom.
You can select more than one image by clicking on the first image and then Ctrl / Cmd + click on the additional images (i.e. hold down Ctrl / Cmd and click on the additional while Ctrl / Cmd is still pressed).
Alternatively you can click on the first image and then Shift + click on the last one to select the first, the last and everything in between.
If multiple images are selected, only one of them is active. It has a lighter shade of grey.
See the image in tyhis thread that explains it: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5180996#5180996

  • How can you select which pictures to upload from camera? plus facebook ?

Is there any way to select which pictures from your digital camera you would like to upload on to iphoto? Or is the only way to upload all of the pictures on your camera? I have 214 pictures on my camera and 210 of them are already in iphoto...i only want to upload the new 4!
    Another question..
I am trying to upload my pictures on to Facebook, and they are significantly smaller than the pictures I uploaded via my PC. How can I get them to upload at normal size?
    THANKS!

    Re: the FaceBook problem
This sounds like you're uploading the Thumbnails that iPhoto uses to display the pics in the iPhoto Window not the pics themselves. Have you been uploading from the Data folder in the iPhoto Library Folder?
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
    1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size.
    3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • How do you make some pictures in your iphoto library, eyes only protected

I want to make some of my pictures unviewable except by password or something so they are not accessible to the whole family, for example I bought my wife a present and took a picture of it to send to her dad and brother. She opened iphoto and you guessed it the picture was right there in the library for all to see, surprise ruined. There should be some way to hide some of the library pictures????

but the originals still show in the main iphoto library and are viewable?
Gee, I don't know, but here's a thought: if you put them in the second library how about you trash them from the first one?
If you mean create a second iphoto library
    I do
then how do I enrypt it that is what I want to do with the main library anyway.
You don't. Again, you put it on an encrypted dmg or disk image. It's the disk that's encrypted, not the library.

  • How do you select what pictures are in your photo stream?

I don't understand how pictures are included in the photo stream. Have an iphone 4 that I want to set up so all the pictures/videos are available on my mac book??

If you Mac meets the system requirements outlined here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html, sign into your iCloud account and turn on photo stream.  You can't use photo stream for videos; you'll have to import them as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • How do you select SOME messages?

My method for dealing with spam which is the bulk of my mail was to SELECT ALL then deselect the one or two messages I wanted to look at, then press DELETE and then read my wanted messages.
Now I get an unwanted view of any message I select and have to delete messages individually.

Well, if I understand what you're saying, and what behavior you are trying to avoid, maybe this will help you out:
is your mailviewer window currently split into three panes - left side a list of accounts and mailboxes, upper right message list, and lower right viewer window for message body of a selected message?
if so, double-click on the separator bar between upper right and lower right panes, and you have a message list only. Now you can individually select (⌘-click) multiple non-contiguous messages (or single-click one message, and ⇧-click a second message to select a bounded group of contiguous messages), and DELETE them. Once your spam is cleaned up, double-clicking the bottom edge of the (right) message list pane (which is where that separator bar has moved to) will restore the separator bar to the middle of the right side of the Mail viewer window, with message lists up top and body of the currently selected message (if any) displayed down below, just as it was before.

  • How do I select multiple pictures in a folder

How do I select multiple pictures in a folder? I have tried shift + click, command + click etc but cannot find a way of selecting a large group without selecting individually

Select the first image.  Then Command-Click on each additional image you want to select as part of a group.
If you are using List mode, you can click on the first, then Shift-Click on the last, and all the files between the first and the last will also be selected.
Command-Click will still work to add additional non-sequential, or to remove items from the list already selected.

  • How do you select an object that is directly under another object?

How do you select an object that is directly under another object?
I was working from a template and I wanted to make a text box the same size as a column box that was put there in order to keep the text in the confines of the paper that is was being printed to.
I could actually put text in each column fine but I wanted it to be in a text box so that I could slightly tilt the test box to compensate for my printer feeding it in slightly wrong. I accomplished this on another template but I could not on this one. If I was working in InDesign or something I know I could just select that layer but I'm at a loss of what to do here. How do I select a column right under a text box? I just thought of something. Once I make the text boxes the same size as the columns I think I can just delete the columns from the inspector. But that would be kind of a work around. I know you can hold down command when nothing is selected from outside the document and then highlight but this is not working. Does anyone have some tips and tricks when it comes to having control over which objects you are selecting when it comes to objects that are overlapped as well as directly over each other.
    Thanks.
    Tim

I'm not sure it's documented any where, but it's not too difficult. First, ⌘-click outside of the layout area to enter object mode then drag the cursor towards the two objects until you see the handles. Now, again ⌘-click on the top object to deselect it. You can now move the underlying object to the front to edit, delete, etc.
After typing this, it dawned on me, why not just click the top object to select it & move it to the back? I've only done the other way a bazillion times & now I think of this.

  • How do you save a picture from email to the iPhoto?

How do you save a picture from email to the iPhoto?

Click and hold on the Save button, and a menu appears, listing each attached file’s name along with a Save As button. Select any individual file, and you’ll save just that attachment to disk. But the really nice feature is the final menu item—Add to iPhoto. That’s right; with one button click-and-hold, you can add all of a message’s attached images to iPhoto.

  • How do you copy a picture in photos?

How do you copy a picture in photos? When I right click on them it doesn't give you the option to copy and when I click edit, copy, it does nothing.

I've copied pictures from iPhoto before and its worked perfectly fine. Just can't seem to find a way to do so on Photos.
I my Photos version it works to select a photo and then use the "Edit" menu.
Edit > Copy ⌘C  or pressing the key combination ⌘C
There is no visible confirmation, but the photo will be in the Clipboard.
I cannot test this with Word.  But I can insert the copied photo from the clipboard into Pages or Keynote documents by using ⌘V

  • How do you insert a picture into another picture?

How do you insert a picture into another picture.  For example, one person is missing from family photo & I'd like to insert that person's face.

    By using an external editor:
In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • How do you copy some of the listings in the Finder?

How do you copy some of the listings in the Finder?... including the Name the Date Modified, the Size, the Kind. For example how do you copy the 11th - 30th Finder listings' Name, Date Modified, Size, Kind.

Print Window for Mac is what a lot of people use. Searching for "print directory" I saw others.
I wrote an Applescript to identify files being shipped, though I didn't add the File Size. (I was running out of format width on a portrait 8-1/2x11 paper.) My script only looks at the selected Files & Folders in a Finder Window and formats as below *but* with a mono spaced font such as "Andale Mono", "Webdings", "Monoco", or "Courier" so there are indications of the folder hierarchy with the Kind and Mod dates aligned in columns:
