How do you set SMTP Authentica​tion - email keeps needing validation

I have had to setup my email again, after moving the domain over and changing nameservers.
When I create it, it works and incoming email is fine, but outgoing always fails.  And when I go to Email Setings, the account is 'red', with a warning to validate.
My email hosts say I need to set the SMTP Authentication.  How do I did this on the 8520?

    Hi bmuur,
    I also had the same problem.
    I clicked Microsoft Exchange and kept trying to add my hotmail account that way but it kept asking for a server address for it to work.
    If you go into Internet Accounts and instead of clicking Microsoft Exchange scroll down to the bottom of the list and click Add Other Account...
    It will ask what sort of account you want to be created and I selected Add Mail Account and clicked create.
    Enter your full name, hotmail email address and password.
    I then clicked create and it worked for me.
    Hopefully this solves your problem.

    Unless Yahoo has changed this, you must have a paid Yahoo account in order to access the account with an email client on your computer. You can access a free Yahoo account via webmail access usiing a browser.

    I just got a new IPhone, but before I can make purchases on it I ha r to answer my security questions, which I forgot the answers to. To reset the questions I have to get an email sent to my rescue email. But I don't have a rescue email. I already have an alternate email, but I guess it's not the same thing.     Did anyone ever answer you or did you figure this out? It's very frustrating and misleading. From what I can tell everyone is saying they're different. Also, they tell you that you set up your rescue e-mail when you create iTunes account. However, I have an old account and never set up a recue account. When I go through account on iTunes there is no prompt to add a rescue account. When I go through the manage my account via apples website page it will allow me to add an alternate e-mail which then send an email verification to the alternate asking you to verify the new account and it states that this is your primary account now for any correspondence. I know my security questions but I can't for the life of me find someone that has distinctly answered the question letting you know how to add a rescue e-mail account to an existing iTunes account.
    Sorry for the long e-mail and the redundancy of the question but I've literally wasted half my day trying to get this stupid question answered and someone who will pay attention to my actual issue. Which is I need a recue account and not an alternative account. I'm actually pretty tech savvy so make fun all you want but this is very frustrating and there seems to be no one or any forum where someone actually answers the people that have bravely asked the question over and over and gotten told to go to manage my account and add an alternative account and that is not a rescue account. Please help! I'm about ready to smash my MBP over my desk!

    Turn it on airplane mode.  Then set up you new account with all of your credentials.  Save, once it allows it.  Turn Airplane mode off, and then go back and select POP.

    I am currently creating a form on a webpage using Adobe Dreamweaver. This form is used for users to register for an event and I would like when they are finished filling out the form that the 'Submit' button autmatically sends that information from the form to a default email address. This button would not send the user to Outlook, it would just automatically send the information to the recipient address.     You will need a script to process the form - generally a FormMail script.
    Firstly check with your hosting service, most hosts offer such a free formmail script on their servers.  Either check the hosts' FAQ pages or contact the host directly and ask them how to implement this on your site.
    It's then a matter or adding a bit of code to the <form> tag to get the form to send to whatever email address you specify.
    If the host doesn't support such a script (which would very unusual and I wouldn't host with them for this reason  :-)  then you may need to look at a rd party form processing service.

    It is much easier to manage this with an app.
    There are a few apps on the store that let you send email to groups, but most will only let you send email from their own app.
    if you want to create a contact that you can use like a group (which I think is what you are describing) then our "MailShot Pro" app is the first to do this, it creates special contacts that you can use from most apps on your device. You just address your email by tapping the blue + on the To or Bcc lines and select the MailShot contact.
    You can import contacts quickly from your address book with a checklist, import whole groups at once, and add contacts manually if you wish. It is also the only way to forward email to a group, or to send to a group from Siri.

    I have a similar problem with my husband's PC.  I've finally got iCloud set up for him but Outlook doesn't recognize his iCloud user name/password and won't collect his mail.

    Since email account mailboxes and messages are not included with the iPhone's backup, restoring an iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed will result in any user created mailboxes and the messages being lost in the process. Just as messages in a POP account's Sent mailbox are lost when restoring an iPhone with iTunes.
    No such concern with server stored mailboxes with an Exchange or IMAP account.
    A POP account is from the early dark ages of email account access with an email client on a computer when the overwhelming majority had access to a single computer only - before there were laptops and long before there were smart phones.

    I'm thinking you sync to your computer over Wi-Fi, if correct, switch to sync when connected to iTunes, turn off sync over Wi-Fi. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.
