I just received an IPod Touch for a gift. Have a home computer through Charter. Have wi fi with pc at home. I am unable to get the Ipod to work with the pc and wifi.
Wi fi is on - At choose a Network - Have the option of t.dillow and other.
When i choose tdillow it asks for a password. What password is required?
I cannot get my email either.

You need the password for your network/router. Sometime the dfault password is on a sticker on the router. As the person who controls/set up the router.

Like Kappy said, turn it off for a while, a couple of hours at least. How hot is hot? A little warm... or too hot to handle? If you bake your iPod you can damage the battery and circuits doing permanent damage. Have seen a couple posts where people have reported there iPod's started smoking (as I remember these were heavy gamers that refused to turn off the iPods) and one stated it started on fire; don't remember the circumstance. During prolonged heavy use, like long gaming sessions-- (activities that work the CPU hard) and charging, getting warm is normal. But if it is getting to hot to handle or a heat warning is popping up, you have a problem. Turn it off, allow it to cool down. If keeps reoccurring try resetting or Restoring to backup or Restore to new. If over heating continues contact Apple Genius Bar and have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

Guess I'm not being clear with my question/problem. The way I understand itunes works is that you have everything in 1 librarary and you can play from there or make individual playlists. We have chosen to make 2 playlists, 1 called Christmas and 1 called motorcycle, all the rest of our songs are sitting in the main library which is where we play them from.
However since the Christmas songs are in the main library as well as the christmas playlist they play in both places when we play the library in the shuffel mode. How do we not get the Christmas songs to play in the library shuffel, I have unchecked them but they still play? Do we have to make a new playlist for all non Christmas songs which is the majority of the songs?

Put it in DFU mode (Google it), and Restore it as new in iTunes.

You will probably need to create an apple Id for you grandson, so you can call that ID instead of yours.

Try unchecking your phone number and email address (if present) under You can be reached by FaceTime (iMessage) at in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime on their devices. Also uncheck their email address (if present) on your phone.
Otherwise have them use separate Apple IDs for these services (tap the ID, sign out, sign back in with a different ID). You can do this and still share the same ID for other services such as iTunes.

ALl we can say her in this Apple forum s to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPOd. Yu can try placing the iPod in recovery mode. For recovery mode see:

Otherwise you will have to go to elsewhere. Jailbreaking voids the warranty and Apple will no longer help.
