I don't necessarily need treble, but all the features logic express offers I want sometimes to fade in and out and I can't figure out how, help please?

For fading IN/OUT of the whole mix you can automate volume on the master track.
Individual files can be faded in Sample Editor (destructively) or in the Arrange as regions (non-destructively). For the latter way its also either volume Automation or using Fade In/Out boxes and curves in audio region parameters.
You can also use volume automation to Fade In/Out individual tracks.

Unless you are using a third party app that provides that functionality, in iOS the only thing youcan access is the last edit/save date and time, which is fairly evident in the user interface for documents and notes. Some apps that handle MS Office files may provide that, but ican't say first hand.

Why does iPhoto have the ability to put photos in events and to give them descriptions if it doesn't transfer this info with the photo. I want to back my photos up to an external drive.

The simplest way to achieve what you want is to back up the iPhoto Library. That will get everything.
You sem to be exporting from iPhoto to the Finder. The Finder does not have the same organisation capabilities as iPhoto. If you're going to do that you need to understand some of the differences between the two.
Event Name will become Folder Name.
'Description Name' I guess is the Title you give the Photo
Jpeg Number is the File Name assigned by your camera.
So: File -> Export
Set your Kind to Jpeg
Select your preferred Quality
Check the Boxes at 'Titles and Descriptions' and Location Information
Under FIlename select 'Use Title'
Click on Export. In the Next Window choose a New Folder as your export destination and then Name that as you prefer

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.

(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)

What you describe would be possible by recording your video, then removing the audio from it and adding audio from GarageBand once the video is in iMovie (I presume here that you are using iMovie for your video production. Other applications may need different methods.)

When you backup your iPad, the app data (not the app) is stored in that backup. When you updated, it should have restored the app data assuming you installed your backup when requested during the update.
