How do you Stop a Song(s) From Downloading

On the iPhone 5, under iTunes, I accidentally hit 'download all' of my purchases. Now I've got 500 songs downloading. I can pause them, I can delete them, butu I can't find a way to stop them all from downloading w/o pausing or deleting each individual song. Any suggestions?

Double click the home button to show the recently opened apps. Press on the iTunes icon until it "giggles" and touch the red "-" badge to close the app.

There are multiple ways to configure the proxy settings on a Mac it sounds like your trying to do it manually. All the places I have been that have used a proxy server have used the "Auto Proxy Discovery" method and this has worked fine. This will work fine for multiple user accounts on multiple Macs.
For those unaware "Auto Proxy Discovery" uses WPAD (Windows Proxy Auto-Discovery) protocol. This means it either 'learns' the address to download a PAC file from via DHCP option code 252 (preferred), or if it cannot get that address via DHCP it tries using the DNS method.
All the Mac web-browsers use the proxy settings learned via System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> Proxies however some other software particularly command-line tools may need configuring individually. For example curl needs to be told separately.

I have just bought myself my first ever mac, and i've been having a little trouble with the mail function that comes with it. The first time i connected my mail app to my hotmail adress, all my old mails started coming in and they were all marked as unread. i had like 7000 og them, so it took a while for them all to load. after this i marked them all as read, and it was fine for a couple of days.
I am not sure what makes all my e-mails load as "new" again and again, but it happens every so often. This is very annoying because i get a little notification at the top of my screen for every "new" e-mail.
In the beginning i didn't think that much of it, but now it is really starting to annoy me, bacause it has happened so many times, so my question is:
Have any of you experienced this? And how did you fix it?
And i am running the OS X version 10.8.2, if that is relevant

Is it an IMAP or POP account?

On your phone:
Settings/Store, then make sure that under Automatic Downloads, Apps is set to Off. You may also want to change settings for Music and Books.

This may sound ridiculous but how do you stop a song playing ?

I can play a song, pause a song, shuffle and many other things but I can not find any function that just stops it altogether!
In video you press the "done" button but no such thing appears in music - am I going mad?!

I think that the "Close" just means "make this little music window go away now," not "Close down the music app." At least, that's how it's always worked for me (before and after the upgrade). If you are playing music and doing something else and bring up that music window on top of what you're doing, you still need to hit pause in order to stop the music.
If you hit pause and the "Now Playing" arrow is still up, it doesn't really mean much except that you can easily get back to what you were playing if you go back into your music. Your music isn't still playing. It's just holding your place. That's how I think of it, at least.

It sounds like you keep being prompted to enter your iCloud password every time you turn on your iPhone. I would start by signing out of your iCloud account in Settings > iCloud. Then close all the running apps:

How do you stop multiple Youtube videos from playing at the same time?

As of a few days ago, when I click on a youtube video, as the commercial begins to play, you can begin to hear multiple/different commercials playing at the same time. After the commercials, the same issue occurs with the main video--multiple videos are being played at the same time and are not in sync. I've updated all my plug ins and have tried the suggestion posted in the forum provided in the link below in which someone else has expressed the same issue, but nothing has worked so far. Does anyone know what can be done?

Are you loading those videos as Flash or HTML5? It is possible to prevent videos from playing until you click something with Flashblock for Flash or Stop Tube HTML5 for HTML5. You can also stop the commercials with Adblock Plus with an Easylist subscription.

How do you stop updates in PS from being suppressed?

I'm getting an error message from AAM when I attempt to update PS. It states that Updates
could not be installed because updates have been suppressed by the Admin... well... I am the
admin and I haven't suppressed updates... got any ideas how I can move forward on this? The

How do you stop an iOS device from disabling itself when the wrong passcode is entered too many times?

At my school we use iPads for all our work etc. However, the idiots in my form grabbed my iPad and googled ****, which got me kicked off the school Wi-Fi of course. To stop this happening again, i put a passcode lock on, but now it amuses them to continually enter the wrong password which disables it, and then I cannot use it in lessons and I can't get access to my notes etc. This is really affecting my performance at school and the teachers are lazy idiots who wont do anything about it. It may be easy for you to slam me for sounding like a whiny little ****, however imagine if all of your learning material was routinely removed from your person in a lesson, and you had to work with others, and make notes, which you will later have to type up, during valuable revision or homework time. After all of that disagreement with you, I do accept that I shouldn’t threaten to kill people, however I would like to stress that you may need to reassess your sense of humor, as you have obviously failed to detect that I was making a light hearted joke. I am sure that I do not possess the physical and metal requirements in order to kill someone.

Is there way to change the help window's behavior so that it acts like a normal window?
It takes so long to set up seeing the problem and the help at the same time, then go back to reading and then back again.
The floating to the top is a very unwellcome "Feature" and microsoft-like not Apple-like.

That depends on your POV. Some may prefer the default behaviour, because it doesn't allow the help window to be hidden by the working window.
Also, keep in mind that you can use the Minimise (yellow) button in the window's title bar.
However, if you really want to change the default floating window, there is a preference you can change with the defaults command:

How can you stop a dunning letter from printing?

Hi,
We've set-up 3 dunning letters for our customers but we only want levels 1 and 2 to send a dunning letter.
Level 3 should update the customer master but no letter should be sent. Unfortunately we can't get this to work and a letter is created for level 3.
We've tried removing the SAPScript dunning form name for level 3 in transaction FBMP but then the customer does not get updated to level 3...
Does anyone know how this could be done? Is there somthing that could be added to the SAPScript?

I have had your same program. We couldn't manage in a very clean way...
1. We've created an empty sapscript and linked it to level 3. (with all windows and data elements but with no output)
2. Define in Customizing a different list for level 3
3. When level 3 will be printed, the empty sapscript will be included in a list named "do not print" (sp01)
I know it's a dirty trick but i did't want to modify std program...

How do you stop the last file from opening on launch?

InDesign CS5 insists on re-opening the last file I had open everytime I launch the app. I have tried making sure that all documents are closed before quitting ID with no success. I have looked through the prefs but can't seem to locate anything that changes this. I am on a Mac running Lion (10.7.4) and have looked for an OS level solution but haven't found anything and no other app is behaving like this. I did search in these forums and haven't found an answer.
Anyone out there have any idea or is this an isolated occurrence? Thanks.

How do i stop previously purchased items from downloading repeatedly?

My wife has an Intel Macbook. Whenever she opens iTunes it immediately starts to download her previous purchases, video and audio, equalling some 200+ files. I've tried allowing the files to download, then deleting them and stopping the downloads before they can seriously get going but no matter what I do they start downloading again either later in that session or the next time she starts iTunes. This has happened with the previous two or three versions of iTunes and continues with the current version.
These are all files she's seen/heard and has no intention of ever accessing again. Is there some way to permanently delete them so that we don't have to keep dealing with this issue?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

It turns out that this is not an uncommon problem. After a lot of searching on the net I came across these two solutions. In both you have to allow the entire song, video, etc. to download. Once the download is complete DO NOT sync your device, instead mark every one of the unwanted items as Read or Watched. Now sync your device (the files should not be copied to it) and go back to iTunes to see if the file is automatically deleted (as far as I know this only happens with podcasts). If the file is deleted your problem should be solved but if not select the file(s), hit Command + delete and choose the move to trash option for the file(s).
Restart iTunes and check to see if the same file is downloading again. If not, you should be okay but if it is then you're trying the second method.
Allow the file to download and do everything as in the first method except when it comes to deleting the file(s) navigate to your iTunes folder where the file is stored and physically delete it from there. Restart iTunes and see what happens.
I can't really speak for how well the second method works as the first method worked for me but I wanted to give both options in case it didn't work for someone else.
