How do you stream IMac 2007 to AppleTV?

I'm trying to send my IMac 2007 display over to the new AppleTV 3rd generation that we just bought. Is this possible?

If you can get it on your iPad (or Mac) and it meets the spec with the right ios you can mirror your screen so the NBT TV plays via apple tv. Apple TV cannot add features if the designers don't allow it, I think the issue is with NBA TV not wanting in not with Apple.

How do you stream a live video to a website. I use GoDaddy to host a website. I can plug a video camera into my Mac so I can run the video through whatever program works best. I even have a .mac account (now its mobile me I guess) and could use that. I have read several threads but can't really find a starting point. Any help is appreciated.
I want to video a basketball game and stream it to our schools website.

Disk fragmentation and particularly whether it can be fixed, is very controversial. The following thread is worth reading:

I think it's true that disks can become fragmented, and this can affect performance. However it is also said that the OS X file system attempts to address this issue in the background all the time, apparently for certain sizes of files in particular.
In my experience the biggest problem is actually lack of disk space. If you don't have a fair amount of free space on your drive, tinkering with the fragments won't help much if your system needs to create a swap file or do some other maintenance. So my recommendation is that you follow the advice to clone and re-create your drive, but if you have limited free space, consider upgrading the disk or the entire computer in the longer term.

How do you stream movies on ATV?

In iTunes, when I set the speakers to "ATV" instead of "Computer" I can stream music but if I open a movie it just plays on my computer. Can you stream video?

AppleTV menus:
Movies - under My Movies
TV Shows - under My TV Shows
Music - under My Music
this assumes you set AppleTV up for sync/streaming in iTunes using the 5 digit code.
If you just set it up for streaming files, then under the corresponding sections you will have an entry for Shared Movies/TV Shows/Music instead.
If you have no media showing up on the AppleTV menus check under Settings>Computers that the iTunes library is listed there and is white not greyed out. Also does the device get listed under iTunes devices?
Synced material is copied to AppleTV from iTunes and can be played when iTunes is not running.
Streaming material causes the files to go to AppleTV when they're needed on the fly via iTunes>network>AppleTV so iTunes must be running to transfer the file. AppleTV decodes and processed the files in real time itself unlike the Airport (Speaker) function where iTunes decodes the file to the music bitstream and sends that to AppleTV from where it goes to your TV or hi-fi.
The things listed under the My TV Shows/My Movies/My Music are a combined list of both synced (copied) material and also things available to stream live from iTunes. The aim is to make the stream/sync process transparent to the user but it can also cause confusion as you might think all the stuff is on AppleTV, plus the list will change if itunes is shut down.

From a Mac, how do you stream WatchESPN channels through Quicktime?

Hey everyone! I've been trying to figure this one out for a while but with no avail.
I use the WatchESPN app a lot on my iPhone. However, for the times when I am at home, I prefer to use the website, WatchESPN.com, on either my Intel-based MacBook Pro or my Intel-based iMac. What I don't like is having to watch the videos through Safari, Firefox and/or Chrome because of the high memory consumption, not to mention the browser titlebar just takes up space.
On the iPhone, the app streams through Quicktime. On the Mac, the website uses their own flash player in a popout window.
How can we watch one of the WatchESPN.com streams through Quicktime on the Mac? It's possible on the iPhone. How can we make it possible on the Mac?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I rented a movie through iTunes, and instead of it streaming, I had to wait over an hour until the movie downloaded to my iPad.
Is there a way to stream video rentalso on an iPad? I have an original iPad running iOS 5.1.1
I can stream Netflix movies on my ipad but not thru any other service.
My AppleTV streams iTunes videos. How come iPad doesn't?
What am I doing wrong?

Well I think one of the reasons that iTunes will not allow you to stream a rental movie is because the time starts on the 24 hour clock as soon as you start to watch the movie. If for some reason there as an interruption in the download/streaming of the movie.... an interruption in your Internet connection or a power outage, you might be out of luck, once the movie started to download again.
Where I live, we have power outages way too often for anyone's linking and sometimes the outage can last for hours. If I started watching a movie as it was downloading and the power went out - and I had to go off to bed because I had to get up for work the next day, I could burn out the 24 hour limit on the time that you get to watch the movie before I had a chance to finish watching the movie.
If your Internet service was down for any length of time, the same thing could happen. You burn up the 24 hour timer before the movie finishes downloading. These might seem to be unlikely scenarios, but it could happen nonetheless. And it is only my own half baked theory anyway, because I have no clue why Apple does it this way, but it does make a certain amount of sense to me.

Two possible reasons.
1. You are custom syncing and have the 'show only synced content' option checked. or

Hi. I have a 2007 MacBook Pro. I decided to reinstall the operating system and it failed. It got so far into the installation that it erased my hard drive. So I tried to boot it from the disk again but it just ejects it. I tried using the "C" key and that didn't work. I also tried holding down the "Option" key and selected the Mac OS Snow Leopard Install Disk, but it still just ejects it. I even tried to reset the PRAM and SMC, but it still didn't work. So how do I boot from the disk to reinstall the operating system on it?

Is this the original disc which came with the MBP? If not, that is likely the issue.
If it is the original disc, is it in good condition and clean?
If yes to both of the above questions, you may have a bad optical drive.
Were both the MBP and the optical drive working fine before this?

Hi all,
Im using Flash Media Server to stream MP3s for a completely
web enabled jukebox. The trouble is some of my MP3s have "." in
their filenames. For example I have a file called:
Music/O/One Minute Silence/Buy Now... Saved Later/12 - On
Deaf Ears
This will not play. I have tested with other files, as soon
as a . appears in the name it will not play. Ive tried escaping the
filename by replacing "." with "\." this also didn't work.
Any ideas?

I think you misunderstand. I am streaming by using
mp3:<filename> without the .mp3 extension. This works fine.
The trouble is if the filename contains a "."
Here is a proper example then:
mp3:mymp3hasa.init
Which would play a file called "mymp3hasa.init.mp3". This
doesn't work. Im not sure if I'm meant to escape the "." and if so
how to do it.
Ive been googling these for ages, and can't find anything!

I have a new lumia Icon that I cannot get to play music on my laptop. The Bluetooth connection plays in my car just fine, but when I try to pair it with my laptop to play my music, it disconnects after a couple of seconds. How can I set up the phone to stream my music to play through the laptop? WP8 and Win8.1 is what I'm using -
