I'm new to Apple products so forgive me for sounding dumb. I need to know how to "subscribe" to a national holidays Ical.

There are a number of ways to do this. The easiest way is to use a program like RSS Bandit, FeedDemon, or Sharpreader. I've used RSS Bandit for a while and it works fine. Find it at www.rssbandit.org. Its free and easy to set up.
1) Download and install RSS Bandit
2) Start RSS Bandit
3) Click File, then click New Subscription. The Add Subscription Wizard will pop up. Click the Next button.
4) Make sure the "I will enter the URL of the web feed or page" option is selected and click Next.
5) In your browser, click the RSS feed to take you to the RSS page (technically a file). Copy the address that is in the browser bar
6) Go back to the RSS Bandit's Add Subscription Wizard and paste the URL into the URL field.
7) Click Next and RSS Bandit will get the latest updates from the RSS feed.
As you can see the process is exactly the same as for a podcast, only you won't be downloading audio and/or video files.

How do you update the Bios safely when using onboard RAID with Z87-G45? I'm using a simple two drive, RAID 1 mirror setup.
I'm currently at bios 1.4, and want to move up. However, last time I upgraded the BIOS, the machine rebooted with improper settings for the RAID (they get hosed during BIOS flash) and Windows decided to auto-repair the only boot drive it could see, one half of the mirror, because it couldn't see the RAID array correctly and *POOF* bare-metal reinstall required.
My PC will not let me press the DEL key on bootup to access the bios, even with MSI Fast Boot not installed. It just ignores the DEL key and tries to load windows which, if that happens, will flame-out my RAID array after a bios flash if I can't catch it to enable the RAID first before windows loads.
I do not want to rebuild my PC again simply because I do a BIOS update.

FYI: BIOS 1.4 & 1.8 are using the same RAID version: 12.7.0.1936
based on this RAID surprise should not hapends.
But as pandaz says if you have no issues, leave bios update alone.
there are still risks something to messed up,
best do a backup of your data just in case if you want to try latest version

How do you turn off Flash audio when using captivate Nav bar?

Hi Guys and Girls
I have an imported flash file that plays an audio track,
I have no problem turning the audio off, when the user uses
the button within the flash file to go to the next slide in the
captivate movie...

BUT if the user decides to use the navigation bar within the
captivate movie it all goes pair shape.. The flash audio continues
to play into the next slide. Anyone have a know how to solve this

within the flash file)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This totally solved my issue. I had a Captivate 4 movie using an embeded animation that had audio. It would play the audio again when the next slide appeared. I have to use Captivate 4, because my audience still uses Flash 7 (yikes). How can you enter a line-break when using a Bluetooth Keyboard or onscreen Keyboard?

In Pages & Keynote the only way to force a line break I have found is to put your finger at the end of a line until the select/insert option appears and then selecting insert, then select line break.
This is frustratingly slow when typing a presentation or document so I bought a Logitech Ultrathin Bluetooth keyboard assuming that would have the Shift+Enter shortcut to make a line break. It doesn't, nor can I find any key combination that does, it's always a new paragraph, or nothing happens.
I have an Ipad3, IOS 6.1.3. I've spoken to Logitech support - they said talk to Apple iOS support, I spoke with a chap at IOS support who didn't know what a line break was, didn't know shift+enter on a PC made a line break so didn't understand my question and ended the call.
Anyone know how to create the shortcut as an alternative to the onscreen slow way?

How do you set the line spacing when using the Append Text Table to Report VI?

I have a table of numbers which I wish to print using the report generation VI's. Since each column has a different numerical format, I first convert the number for each cell to a string with the appropriate format and then build a string array to pass to the Append Text Table to Report VI. The table is printed with double line spacing. How do I reset this for single spacing?

The issue is not with the NI-Reports functionality, but the Array to Spreadsheet String funvtion in the for loop. Here is the context help for this function:
"Converts an array of any dimension to a table in string form, containing tabs separating column elements, a platform-dependent EOL character separating rows, and, for arrays of three or more dimensions, headers separating pages."
The thing to note here is that it says it adds an EOL (end of line) character at the end of every row. This is what is happening. Your first column of data has a \r\n in it and adds the second row to each data item. This in turn makes the rest of the columns have a larege blank space at the bottom so that all of the cell heights are equal. I w
ould re-write that little bit of code so that you just do one large string concatenation of number, spaces, number, spaces, number and this should solve your issue.

How can you keep the file name when using "Download Linked File As..."?

I'm a longtime PC user finally making the transition to Mac. Some of the tasks that seemed so simple in Windows have really stumped me! One of the tasks I do frequently is download files into specific folders. After much looking, I finally found the "Download Linked File As..." option if I right-click on the download link. The problem is, when I choose this option, I lose the file name. I get a window in which I can choose the desired folder, but the filename is always "0". If I want to keep the filename (and I usually do), I have to type it in manually. Is there anyway around this?

Just checked on 10.7.4+, still the same, something is borked about your install, to see if we need to re-install...
To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

How do you avoid Connection Time Out when using Migration Assistant

Connection Time Out occurred when trying to use Migration Assistant to Transfer filess from a Windows Computer to a new iMac. What do I do to avoid this?
I've connected the Windows computer to the iMac using an ethernet cable and both computers are on the same network. When I started the transfer, it said it was copying the first file on both machines but nothing was happening. Then finally it said there was a Connection Time out. Is there anything else I need to check?

I suspect it has something to do with your network settings on your PC. I'd recommend calling AppleCare right away. you have 90 days of free AppleCare telelphone support, they can help walk you through the process. In the prefs it is a very broad subscibe to threads I start or subscribe to threads I post in. Well how do you subscribe to just the threads I want to?

Now if you want to just subcribe to the Group in general; as soon as you get to desired group listing, before clicking on a topic, look to right and click on email notification.
Also if your tired of a Particular Group when you go to that group click again to discontinue email notification. It will not stop other threads on your post , but will stop email Notifications.
You can also set in prefrence to receive notication to Topics you reply to

If you want to rearrange images in random order you can try an AppleScript:
retrieve a list of selected images from Aperture
shuffe the list properly
create an album in Aperture and add the images from the list to the album (make sure that the album set to be orederd manually)

Do you mean the passcode for Settings > General > Restrictions so that you can turn in-app purchases back 'on', or something else ?
If the Restrictions code then was it on the iPad when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.

Im doing a drumming music video and with the multi cam clip all the angles are nicely sync'd top the audio.
Problem is if i want to have 3 angles on top of the main shot, im gonna have to re-sync them all to get them to line up manually. If i could use the multi cam clip they will already be aligned
