How do you switch iCloud accounts on macbook

presently, i have the icloud account attached to my account. I'm giving the macbook to my daughter, who is leaving for college, and would like to switch "ownership" to her. All the contacts, itunes, skype and admin is mine. I'm trying to make the macbook ownership and supporting programs reflect her. Any suggestions? Thank You.

To access an iCloud backup you have to erase your phone, then choose the option to restore from iCloud backup during the setup process.  When you go through the setup, just be sure to sign into the correct iCloud ID.  This explains how to restore an iCloud backup in more detail: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud.
Note: if you have Find My iPhone enabled, you will have to provide the password for the existing account in order to erase it.

how do you change apple id on icloud on iphone 4 if you already have chosen an account?

itunes accounts are not the same as icloud accounts.  It's okay to use the same ID for the itunes account on different devices owned by different users.  That way you share purchased items.  But for icloud, each user should have their own account if they want their own data, otherwise data is shared among all users.

  • How do you switch iCloud apple id on iPad

I am trying to help someone who originally set up their ipad3 with one apple Id for iCloud, but now wants to change it to another apple Id. How do I do this? When I go into settings, under iCloud, I can see the apple I'd, but it will not let click on the field to change it. Thanks for your help!

Thank you for replying so quickly. I have another question, to make sure i fully understand everything: when an account is deleted from the device, the original apple Id still exists with all backed up data in the iCloud correct? Deleting it just unlinks that device from that apple Id, correct? Thanks again for your help!

  • How do I switch iCloud accounts?

I got my iphone 5s for free from someone because it was broken and I got it fixed but I don't know how to switch the Apple ID over to mine and the mail as well as the iCloud. I don't have a password for their email or Apple ID. What do I do?

Well, in your case, it's too bad you sunk money into the iPhone to repair it, because you got what you paid for ...
Your iPhone is Activation Locked, as described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5818
You will need that original owner's Apple ID and password to unlock it, or the iPhone will remain useless to you.

How do you switch from one iTunes account to another on your apple tv?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
I assume you do mean a different account and not simply a different iTunes library. Unfortunately, in order to switch accounts, you would need to log out and log in to the second account.

  • Question on iCloud accts:  I have my iPhone and iPad on one account, but my Mac is set up on my old mobile me acct.  Can't figure out how to change an iCloud account number on my Mac so I can sync all three.

Question on iCloud accounts:  I have my iPhone and iPad on one iCloud account, but my Mac is on my old Mobile me account.  Can't figure out how to change my iCloud account on my MacBook Pro so all 3 are synced.

First, open System Preferences > MobileMe and log out. Then, open  > About this Mac and see Version. If you see 10.5.x or 10.6.x, see > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If your Mac is compatible, upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and purchase OS X Mountain Lion.
When you have upgraded, go to System Preferences > iCloud and follow its steps

  • How to create 2 icloud accounts with one apple id

I would like to find out how to create 2 iCloud accounts using the same apple id. Currently, my husband's iphone4S and my iPhone 4 have merged contacts which we don't want, and when he texts it shows that it is from me.

You can't do that.  One of you will have to create a new icloud account with a new ID and connect the device to it.
TO GET DATA FROM ONE ACCOUNT TO A NEW ACCOUNT:
When connected to the account you want to GET data from, Go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.
When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone.
After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to this new account.
Note that this only affects the "Apple data" like contacts, calendars, reminders, etc.  Many third party apps also use iCloud to store data files there.  These files may be lost in the process, unless the apps also keep the data locally on the device.
NOTE:  Photos in the photo stream (if you use it) will not transfer to the new account.  It is advised that you save the photos to a computer before performing the account switch.
    CREATING A NEW ID:
Each user should have their own icloud account, otherwise they end up getting the same emails, contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc. - usually not what you want.  But if all have been sharing the same itunes ID, keep it that way, you can have different IDs for itunes and icloud.
If you already have another icloud account, and want to set it up on a device, then go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.  This only disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost on icloud.  Then enter the account ID that you want to use.
To create a new icloud account, go to
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

  • Switch icloud accounts on OSX mountain lion

I would like to switch Icloud accounts on my IMac.
I'm currently using my personal icloud account, which is linked to all my personal documents and e-mail- and which is really only intended for my home, but would like to disconnect it, and start using the computer with another icloud account (which is linked to my WORK e-mail, documents).
When I got the new IMac I logged in with my persoanl icloud account (just out of habit) but I really should have used the Icloud from work.
When I now go to the Icloud tab in my system preferences to switch accounts and click "log out" the little wheel starts spinning and my computer starts running exteremely slow. Note that I'm running the 3.2 27" Imac with 16GB of ram and OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2- so I'm pretty sure my system should be more than qualified to handle such a task... (If this machine isn't - good luck to anyone with a slower model...)
The first time I tried this I left it running over night, only to find my mac was frozen the next morning- After a reboot it hadn't logged out from the icloud account.
The 2nd time I tried this, the machine kept spinning for 2 hours, only to come up with a notification that the startup disk didn't have enough resources for program files, and it suggested closing all apps and removing unnecesary files. - My machine is only about 1 month old and has about 970GB of free space...
The 3rd time I tried to log out, nothing happened at all- the wheel just kept spinning and spinning- and after 4 hours i rebooted the system, because I couldn't do anything with the machine anymore...
So here's my question: How can I log out from one icloud account, and log back in with another ( already existing account) without my machine crashing...

If you want to use two iCloud accounts, I recommend you to create another user for that Apple ID because you could have problems with your information

  • I changed my apple id but the apple id for icloud did not change on my mac.  How do I get icloud account information to change and match my new apple id?

I changed my apple id but the applie id for icloud did not change on my mac in system preferences.
I have changed my apple id on system preferences under users and groups but the icloud preferences don't pick up the change.
I restarted my computer, and still no change.
I have been using icloud under my old apple id for mail calendars and notes.
How do I get icloud account information to change on my mac's system preferences and match my new apple id?
    I am missing something.
    Please help.  Thanks.

Thank you Roger, your solution gave me the courage to sign out of Systems Preferences.  The pop up told me it was going to delete my contact and other information from my mac, so I was hesitant to do that.  Well I did as you directed and I was able to sign in with my new apple id and I did not lose the information the pop up threatened I was going to.  So again thank you.  It is the little things that make a big difference sometimes.

  • How to change my iCloud account with only access to the Apple ID

    Hello everyone
Im using my previous company ipad and i dont have access to the registered iCould account.
How to change my icloud account to a new email account that i own.
I have access to the Apple ID Account but i dont have access to the iCloud account in it.
The Security Question was made by the tech admin of the company not by me, so not even that way its possible.
    Thank You in advance,
    Frederico

I wish Apple improves this Security measures so that it lets remove features with both logins, Apple or iCloud credentials.
Also the iCloud needs improvements, it should use the Apple ID not some other different login. The email part of icloud should be in iCloud but most people don't use iCloud mail so the rest of the features should be in the same email credentials as Apple ID.
This way im not sure if i take the risk on Restoring the iPad, i could end up beeing locked out of my own device.
All this hierarchic credentials are confusing. I would only need the Apple ID that is being used on the iPad to clean it up or turn off options like iCloud account currently on the device.

    On your phone (from http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311):
    Change your iTunes Store country
Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you'd like to use. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.
Follow the onscreen process to change your region, agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information.
