How do you switch to IMPORT view? How do I import pictures?

I always thought software is supposed to get EASIER to use with each update!
I updated to iTunes 6 and now I have no clue how to import my photos. The iPhoto Help documents are 100% useless. They say that iTunes will automatically switch to import view when the camera is powered up. It does not do this. I've clicked through every screen and preference option for iTunes for a solid 45 minutes now and there is nothing that lets me import my photos anymore. NOTHING! Luckily my brother is still using version 5. I connected my camera to his iBook, powered it up, and iTunes immediately prompted the IMPORT button.
OMG how can Apple screw up something like this???
MacBook Pro 1.83 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I understand that you're upset, but remember, this is a User to User forum. No one here is from Apple or represents them. So please, don't shout at us.
The reason I asked about the Camera you're using is because some people report problems using some cameras. Canons spring to mind, tho', for instance, both of my Canons work perfectly well, so it's very limited problem.
A workaround is to use a Card Reader. USB readers are inexpensive. Others have reported success with upgrading to the latest Quicktime, some have reported success with re-applying the 10.4.8 update from the Stand Alone Installer.
Also worth trying, as PhillyPhan suggests, is using Image Capture to get the pics from your camera onto the computer and then importing them into iPhoto from there.
In any event, after you get the pics from the Camera, reformat it. That might be the problem.

  • Label colors are more vibrant when you switch to column view

Mayby I am too picky but I noticed that *label colors are more vibrant when you switch to column view*. I guess label colors should always look the same on matter what view you are on.

    ThisisGrey,
You can also by choose a different color profile in System Preferences...>Displays>Color>Display Profile: Uncheck "Show profiles for this display only," and experiment with a different profile. I personally had the most success with using the "Calibrate..." selection and creating a user calibrated profile for my screen.

  • How can you import pictures from the iphoto app to your mac book pro into iphoto on a mac book pro using mavericks?

I've tried to look this up on the app, and it tells me to use the iTunes file sharing and I can see anything with this trying to use both. I'm trying to keep my pictures in chronological order. Does in know how I can use this? Any help I would greatly appreciate. Thank you!

OK. This is two separate issues. To import pictures on your iPhone into your MBP, you can use iPhoto or the Image Capture app (in the Applications folder).
To use iPhoto, connect your iPhone to your Mac with its USB cable & launch iPhoto. Your iPhone will be listed it in the "Devices" panel on the left. Choose it & you will get a window where you can import all or selected photos as either "split events" or as a single event. If you need help with this, try opening iPhoto's built-in help & selecting the "Import Photos" item. That will open the Import photos from iPhone or other mobile phone help topic. Expand the Import photos from iPhone section & study it. It should answer all your questions about this better than I can!
To use the Image Capture app, you connect the iPhone & select it just like above. The app has several options for importing images, but what you may find useful if you do not want to import directly into iPhoto is that you can just drag any of the iPhone's displayed items onto the desktop or into a folder like you would any other file & they will be copied to that location.
As for organization of items in iPhoto, there are four ways they can be grouped for display (by event, by photo, by face, & by place). All except by faces offers a "By date" sort choice in the iPhoto View > Sort Photos menu item.

  • How do I switch to Compatibilty View as I could with Internet Explorer?

I'm not able to open programs for my work because the message reads "Sorry, your browser/program is not supported by Web Dynpro! ". When I was using Internet Explorer & saw this message, I was able to switch to "Compatibity View" which corrected the problem. I'm not sure how to correct it with Firefox.....

It is not the first time that issues with Web Dynpro are reported on this forum and you may not be able to fix this.

  • How To Force User to Fulfill validations in view before switch to another view in infopath 2012

i have a form with different views
,, every view has some validations ,, how to validate each view's validations before switching to another view
if manual how to do that ?

    Hi Ahmed,
You can use custom validation for verifying all the fields with required data, and write rule in you submit button to disable till all the fields are entered with valid data. Enabling submit or switch view rule after validation will help you on this regards.
You can also use internal flags for enabling disabling submit button if required, or just make all the fields required OOTB.,
I usuall use expressions to validate the form for values, this will help to check multiple fields atonce.

  • HT2477 Just bought a Mac book and the set up is with the Voice over key commands, how do you switch this off as it is painfull to use and use the scroll pad

Just bought a Mac book and the set up is with the Voice over key commands, how do you switch this off as it is painfull to use and use the scroll pad?

It's the button (key) that is labelled Control.
Each of the modifier keys and similar keys has its own symbol; this makes listing command keys easier to do. The Command key is usually the only key which has its symbol printed on the key. If you open Keyboard Viewer (in the Input menu, the one which displays the flag in the main menu bar), you can see what symbol refers to which key.

  • How do you switch back to snow leopard, lion is crap?

How do tou switch back to snow leopard? Lion is crap, so dissapointed.

Keep the inflamatory comments down or the thread will disappear, as long as your questions are supported related it's fine.
Here's how to go back to Snow.
How can I uninstall OS X Lion and go back to Snow Leopard?
1: Copy your user file folders (Documents, Pictures, Movies, Music, not Library) to a external blank Disk Utility formatted HFS drive (not TimeMachine) and disconnect all drives. Make a note of your username and hard drive name. Write down any essential information like passwords stored in keychains and product serial keys.
2: Stick the 10.6 installer disk into the machine and reboot holding the c key down. Second screen in choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
3: On the left select the hard drive makers name of your internal boot drive (important) then click Erase and Erase... button (if you want to wipe the drive of all lingering data then choose Security Option>Zero all data) when choosing a name for the drive, use the same drive name as before.
4: Quit and install 10.6, then go through setup, reboot and use the same user name as before. Software Update, install programs from fresh sources (enter any serial keys) Hold Option and click on Purchases in AppStore to redownload (not Lion of course) and then finally return user files to their respective folders on the Snow Leopard drive.
5: If you have issues with iPhoto, you can right click on the iPhoto Library and "Show Package contents" and in there is a folder with all your originals. Copy them out and delete the iPhoto Library and reboot, restart iPhoto and it should be recreated, which you can then import your copied originals again.
Note: using the same drive and user name as before, returning files exactly into their respective Music, Documents and Pictures folders like before matches any pathnames some files like iTunes has to the location of your files. If not done, then exclamation points will occur in iTunes when you click on a song. The iTunes Library will have to be opened in Text Edit and all the partial pathnames "find and replace" corrected to repair.
    Optional, but recommended.
Ideally it's best to first Carbon Copy Cloner the 10.7 internal to another blank external HFS drive before doing the above steps 1-5 as that way you have a copy of everything in case you missed something or you need to hold option boot from the 10.7 clone. The clone can later be erased and used as a 10.6 clone. Or reversed cloned back onto the internal drive or as many external drives as needed. (don't boot a clone on a different Mac, you can access the files though)
Clones are hold option key bootable, TimeMachines drives are not.
Note: The above steps are ONLY for Mac's that didn't come with Lion preinstalled. For reverting a factory Lion to Snow Leopard requires other methods.

  • Everytime I open iphoto, my computer tells me A photo has been found in the iPhoto Library that was not imported.  Would you like to import it.  no matter what I do, iphoto puts the pic in recovered files.  How do I fix this?

Everytime I open iphoto, my computer tells me,  A photo has been found in the iPhoto Library that was not imported.  Would you like to import it.  If I import it, a message comes up Unreadable file, the following file could not be imported. them it tells me where the file is and it cannot be opened.  If I do not import, then it says,The photo has been placed in the folder /Users/patrick*******/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_4.  It will just keep adding to recvovered photos.  This drives me crazy!!!!!!!  How do I fix this?

I had this problem some months ago and the following solution from Terrence Delvin put things right:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
    Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.
However, since connecting a memory stick to my computer, I now have the same problem again.  This time there is no folder called 'Import' or 'Importing' so what should I do?

How do you switch from one iTunes account to another on your apple tv?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
I assume you do mean a different account and not simply a different iTunes library. Unfortunately, in order to switch accounts, you would need to log out and log in to the second account.

iTunes will only import music from your phone that was purchased from the iTunes store.  To transfer music from other sources you have to use 3rd party software, such as PhoneView.

How do you switch output sounds   set to my external monitor that is connected via HDMI.

    Hello gail from Ajijic,
If you'd like to change the audio output of your Mac, you can do so by accessing the Sound preferences in your System Preferences.
Before you start, open the Output pane of Sound preferences (choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sound, then click Output).
    Choose a sound output device
From the list of sound output devices, select the one you want to use. All sound output devices available to your Mac are listed, including the computer’s internal speakers, devices plugged into your computer’s sound port (), USB speakers, and AirPlay devices.
For any device plugged into the computer’s sound port, choose Headphones.
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your computer’s sound output settings
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
