How do you synch iCalendar with iCloud?
I cannot get my father's Calendar data to transfer via iCloud to his iPad. His Mac is running 10.7.2, and the iPad is running OS 5.0.1 (I think, at least it is OS 5 for sure.) Everything else (Mail, Contacts, etc) is transferring, but not Calendar.

Check that both have calendar syncing enabled, also check that the calendars in iCal you are trying to sync are iCloud calendars and not on my mac calendars (click on the calendar button in the top left corner of iCal).

If you are syncing your outlook calendar with an exchange or other server, you can't effectively do this, iCloud only syncs with iCloud calendars and exchange won't sync with iCloud calendars.

You can sync to one computer at a time.
When you sync to another it will delete the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
That would have nothing to do with it it not recognizing the device.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

And the additional problem is that once you give in and go iCloud, no rep will tell you there are iCloud limits on iCal's size, so that if you're calendar is say 10 years old, with 10 events per day, and there's a 25K event limit, it won't work, even if you buy all the storage in the world. Which means that's syncing is OVER.
So far I've tried three calendar alts: Fantastical (rated one of the top iCal alts); Pocket Informant (allegedly capable of superpowers); and Calendars. Not a single one is able to do the one simple task of
1) integrating an ical ics file,
2) placing a calendar program on the desktop and the iPhone
3) keeping them both in sync.
And Google's cloud has even more restrictions than iCloud, and for frack's sake why can't I keep a calendar off the net?
This is really getting to annoy me. Chelsea, a tech support supervisor, offered that if I pay $99/year I can become a developer and get the next beta iTunes which will allegedly offer local syncing. Great.

As currently designed, you cannot. Once iCloud detects you are on mobile Safari, it switches you to the iPad screen.
If you had another browser that would allow you to pretend you were a desktop Safari client, ie8 or 9, or Firefox, that might work.
But, Puffin and Opera mini don't work.

I'm very new to Java and programming in general. but I am currently reading some beginner books for Java. From what I've read, libraries are nothing more than prewritten code which you can call to use in your programs. My question is how do you familiarize yourself with the libraries? With so many different libraries, how do you find out what they are capable of? Is is simply diving in it and analyzing the code? Can you create your own libraries? If so, what is the advantage of creating a library instead of baking the code right into the program? Why advantage do you have with referencing an outside file for code over having a self contained program?

I set up last year with Win 7. I downloaded Airport Utility from apple.com. I don't recall any difficulty. Wireless is not my forte. Sorry I can't offer better assistance.
I installed Software Update on the pc to keep software up to date.
