How do you tell the difference between the generation of AirPort Extreme

Anyone

The usual method is read its model number printed on the case. You can also use AirPort Utility.

  • How can I tell the differences between the new MacBook Pro with retina display and the old MacBook Pro with retina display by looking

I'm just wondering the differences between the new MacBook Pro with retina display which was just released in October 2013 and the old MacBook Pro with retina display.

Thank you for the reply! As you said they looked exactly the same, so I'm not able to tell the differences just by looking, right? I'm thinking to buy a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with retina display, but I'm not buying the MacBook in Apple Store, I'm buying it in other shops, how can know whether they are not selling me the old model of MacBook Pro with retina display?

  • Can anyone tell me the difference between the rss.xml and podcast.xml?

I have the Podcast maker program. Can anyone tell me the difference between the rss.xml and podcast.xml? How do they differ? What do I use each of them for? Where should I put them in my directory?

Podcast Maker sets up your podcast from media files you enter into it; you enter the summary and description. It then publishes to your iDisk or other server, and in the process created the podcast.xml file which you can submit to iTunes.
It doesn't create an rss.xml file: it sounds as if you are also creating the podcast in iWeb, which does. This has the advantage of creating a web page; it will also create the rss.xml file.
Both are valid - of course if there are any differences between the version in Podcast Maker and the version in iWeb then the xml files will be different. But basically you seem to be creating two versions of the same podcast - if you are making it in iWeb then the Podcast maker version is really redundant (though I prefer it for podcast creation). If you want to go on using both I should use the podcast.xml feed it creates.

  • HT3696 How to know if your mac is using the latest Haswell architecture processor or not? and how to know the difference between the new imac and the 2012/13 imac?

How to know if your mac is using the latest Haswell architecture processor or not? and how to know the difference between the new imac and the 2012/13 imac?

Sorry to reopen an old post, but I've just purchased a 2nd hand late-2013 iMac (or so thats what the seller said).
I'm always sceptical though, and just wanted to know if there is a way to check if my iMac is indeed the late-2013 model that included Haswell?
I've attached screenshots of the About This Mac section hoping it may help shed some light.
Thank you in advance for your help!
PS - I can't compare to the iMac specs link you posted above because its now showing the late-2014 models.

  • What is the difference between the DataSource types in BI?

    Hello,
Can someone please explain what is the difference between the four types of DataSources: DataSource for transaction data and DataSource for master data which contains DataSource for attributes, DataSource for texts and DataSource for hierarchies and explain and demonstrate at which scenario I will use each one?

When you load data into Cube/ODS, i.e. Transactional data, and you load data into it from Transaction Datasources.
For every Infobject there is Master data associated with it, and Attributes, Texts and hierarchy are types of Master Data.
Say Vendor is InfoObject, and its master data:
    Vendor Vendor Desc
    1           One
    2           Two
Now in Transactional data Vendor 1 can be having multiple entries, and master data contacin master data of that person. Like if u go to some store, your address and personal info is going to save ones, and master data, and next time when you order something your personal details comes from master data, and whatever you buy comes under transaction data. Now with respect to you there may be many attributes, like address, contact number, and so on....and text is what which is going to describe in short who is this person. HIerarchy could be some chain, will tell how you r related to some other person, may be like if someone referred you.

  • What is the difference between the passcode on my iPhone 5 and a password?  I am locked out of my phone.

What is the difference between the passcode on my iPhone 5 and a password?  I am locked out of my phone.

Not entirely sure what you are asking, but a passcode to unlock an iOS device is normally 4 digits long (so is a 4 digit code), though you can make it alphanumeric and longer (so effectively becomes a password).
If you don't know the passcode to unlock your phone or it's showing the disabled screen then there are instructions on this page for how to reset a device : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 - you should then be able to restore/resync your content to it.

  • TS3899 Why is the number of e-mails higher on my iPhone than in my e-mail when I log into it on my computer?  The difference between the 2 keeps climbing.

Why is the number of e-mails higher on my iPhone than in my e-mail when I log into it from my computer?  And how do I fix it?  The number keeps climbing on my phone, making the difference between the two greater.

    You're welcome.
In order to have the account's Sent mailbox synchronized with the server with the Mail.app on your Mac and with the iPhone's Mail application, you must store the account's Sent mailbox on the server with each. The same applies to the account's Drafts and Trash mailboxes.
With store sent messages on the server deselected for the account preferences with the Mail.app on your Mac, create an "On My Mac" location mailbox. At the Mail.app menu bar go to Mailbox and select New Mailbox. Choose On My Mac for the mailbox location - which will be stored locally on your computer's hard drive and enter a name for the mailbox. You can name this mailbox MobileMe Sent. Select OK to create the mailbox, which will be available under "On My Mac" in the Mail.app mailboxes drawer.
Select your MobileMe Sent mailbox. Select a sent message in the mailbox and at the menu bar go to Edit and choose Select All. Follow this - at the Mail.app menu bar go to Message and select Move To and then select the new On My Mac location mailbox in the window provided. This will move all messages from the account's locally stored sent mailbox to the newly created On My Mac location mailbox. When this transfer has been completed, re-select store sent messages on the server for the account preferences.
Now do the same with the newly created On My Mac location mailbox where all sent messages were transferred to. Select a message in the mailbox and at the menu bar go to Edit > Select All. At the menu bar go to Message > Move To and select your MobileMe account's server stored Sent mailbox under Sent in the window provided. This will transfer all messages stored locally on your computer's hard drive from the newly created "On My Mac" location mailbox to the account's server stored Sent mailbox. These messages will no be available when accessing the account with the iPhone's Mail application.

  • What is the difference between the T.codes MC.B and MC44 ?

    Hi Guys
What is the difference between the T.codes MC.B and MC44 ?
    and
What is the meaning of "Key figure" ?
    cheers
    MaruthiRam

    Dear,
MC.B - Mat.Anal.Selection; Turnover - Executing material tunrover basing the different selection parameters available.
MC44 - Analysis of Inventory Turnover - The key figure "inventory turnover" specifies how often average stock has been consumed. Inventory turnover is calculated as the ratio of cumulative usage to average stock level.
An inventory turnover analysis allows you to identify whether there are any "slow-moving items". It provides a basis for evaluating, for example, how effectively fixed capital has been used.
Key figure: The key figures that you can evaluate in the standard analyses for stock placement/removal and material placement/removal, provide information from the point of view of a storage area, and distinguish between internal and external warehouse movements. Both of these standard analyses are based on data that is updated to the information structure S090 when the events goods movement (external quantities), or stock removals/placements and transfer orders occur. The only difference between these analyses is the predefined standard drilldown path.

    Syed Hussain.

  • What's the difference between the triangle icon and the square icon on the

What's the difference between the triangle icon and the square icon on the Bookmarks Bar, and how do you make the square thing happen?

Both mean that the bookmark is a group or folder of multiple addresses.
The triangle is the default setting, meaning that usually you click and choose a single address to open in the group. You can also right-click on the group name to select "Open in Tabs" to see ALL the addresses open in individual tabs.
The square is this behaviour (open all addresses in tabs) fixed, so that it ALWAYS opens that way, even with a left click. If you want to access an individual address now, you have to use option-click.
To switch between triangle and square, open your bookmarks screen (the book icon on the far left of the bookmarks bar, or Bookmarks menu - Show all Bookmarks, select the group you want to change, and tick the box marked "Auto-Click". You can of course switch back to triangle (default) behaviour in the same way.

  • Java-options, What is the difference between the parameters xms and ms

    Hi,
I have a problem with deploy bpel process , I get an error "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen Space" several sources of information tells me that I have to change some parameters in the file "<ORACLE_HOME> / opmn / conf / opmn.xml" but I doubt some of the parameters, what is the difference between Xms and ms?
And what is the value of the parameter MaxPermSize, which I must also change.
    Thanks
    Gustavo

Did you ever find out what the difference between the two parameters were!? I have the same questions. Default for opmn.xml = "-server -XX:MaxPermSize=128M -ms512M -mx1024M ...." In attempting to maximize performance and accessible memory, Oracle docs identify adding/modifying "-server -Xmn1228m -XX:+AggressiveHeap -Xms2048m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=128M -ms2048M -mx2048M...." But I question if Xms and ms are really the same parameter or not?
    Thanks in advance...

  • What is the difference between the 7640 and the 7645 printers

I am trying to find out the difference between the HP Envy 7640, and the HP Envy 7645, can anyone tell me?

Like previously stated, refurbished can mean many things.  Someone may buy a camera and when they get it have buyers remorse and return it unused, but, once Canon gets it back they have to completely check it out to make sure it meets specs and then they sell it as refurbished.  You might get a camera with 0 shutter actuations but you might get one with 1000 or more shutter actuations.  Either way Canon completely rechecks each camera before they sell it.  I have bought 2 refurbished DSLRs from Canon and they have both been great cameras.  You couldn't tell if they had ever been used or not.  Recently Canon started offering a 1 year warranty on refurbished DSLRs but I am not sure if that applies to other models or not.

  • What's the difference between the 2 activex server interface types

    Hi,
i have a problem with a LabView ActiveX-Server i wrote. This is a little test application with 2 ActiveX-Servers and a VC++ Application. The first server opens the serial resource and sends it as variant to VC. VC sends the variant then back to the second server where i want to communicate with a serial device. When i access the second server through the LabView.Application interface everything is fine. But when i'm trying to access the exe directly with [VI-Name].vi (i think this is called run interface) i get an error that my resource for the serial interface is not correct.
Want is the difference between the two interface types and how can i solve the problem?
    Thanks

The path of a main VI changes after it is compiled into executable. For example, the original VI is at
    c:\temp\test\main.vi,
after building it into executable (say the executable directory is exe), the path to main.vi then changes to
    c:\temp\test\exe\main.exe\main.vi
Sometimes in order to correctly reference some relative information, the "main.exe" need to be removed from the path. If you are accessing main.vi at development time, then the correct path should be the longer one during runtime.

  • What is the difference between the newInstance() and new

would be please tell me the difference between the newInstance() and new

Yes, kablair, you couldn't be more correct in your
statements. I didn't pay attention to the other
replies. But anyway, the person who has to clarify
the question is the OP, that doesn't seem to be
interested in this subject anymore...Strangely enougth this seems to be quite common (the OP doesn't care about the replies). This is a frustration you'll have to live with if you plan to continue replying to posts at this forum. I deal with it by don't caring about the OP's in return. What the heck, make it an interesting discussion with or without any OP.
