How do you turn on the do not track feature?

According to an article in USA Today, Firefox has a "do not track" feature that keeps third parties for knowing what sites I visit. How do you turn this on?

Note that selecting that ''do-not-track'' setting will only make Firefox send a specific HTTP header (DNT=1) to a web server.
It is up to the server to do something with that request.

  • How do I switch on the D0 Not Track feature?

I read your very good article on the Do Not Track feature, but it does not advise or provide a selection tab to activate the Do Not Track service, which I would like to do.
    (2) I see below on my Firefox Version that I have 3.6.23. I have recently downloaded Firefox Version 7, which is in my Download folder. Does this mean that my download of version 7 has not been activated so my notebook is not running version 7 as yet or is 3.6.23 something else all together? If currently not running Firefox Version 7, how do I transfer it across from Downloads to Programs? Copy & Paste from Downloads to Programs folder on my Windows Explorer?

To install Firefox 7, run the installer you downloaded (double-click it). Actually, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings first in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Regarding Do Not Track, it is in the Options dialog on the Privacy tab when you are finished updating.

  • How do you turn off the Auto-Maximize Snap Feature

     Hi,
I am sure that the auto-maximize is useful but there are occasions when I want to push a window out of the way to the top of the screen. I use this so I can either keep it open and work on other windows or when I have a large spreadsheet and every pixel is needed. It would be useful to over-ride it by holding down a key(s) for those occasions.

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting.
We can do this to enable the keyboard actions and disable the mouse actions:
    1.    Please go to “Control Panel - Ease of Access Center”.
    2.    Go to “Make the mouse easier to use” and check the item “Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen.”.
    3.    Then go to “Make the keyboard easier to use” and uncheck the item “Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen.”.
After applying the settings, if you drag the window to the edge of the screen, it will not be “auto-maximize”; and you can use the function with the hotkeys (Win+Up, Win+Left Win+Right,etc.).
    Hope this helps.

Seems like a strange way of doing it, however it still does not work as intended, the behavior i am seeing is this.
    1.    Please go to “Control Panel - Ease of Access Center”. no problem
    2.    Go
to “Make the mouse easier to use” and check the item “Prevent windows
from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the
screen.”. no problem mouse will not snap windows problem hot keys disabled
    3.    Then
go to “Make the keyboard easier to use” and uncheck the item “Prevent
windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the
screen.”. no problem hot keys enabled problem mouse snaps windows as setting is now unchecked that was checked in #2
In addition to this behavior if “Prevent windows
from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the
screen.” is checked it only applies to the current session as davehc1 noted. The only way i have found to keep the setting from reverting back to on is to alter the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowArrangementActive

  • How do you turn off the 2-sided printing feature on hp 8500 printer?

I want to print one sided only.  When I have four originals I want four one sided copies.  I keep getting two , two sided

joaneschroeder, you are going to have to disable the duplexing option on the printer or deselect the option each time from the program you are printing from.
To turn the feature off on the printer (and it can be turned on in the same way), go to your Printers folder on your computer. This is usually found in your Control Panel.
Right click on the printer, and select "Printer Preferences." In the window that pops up hit the "Advanced" button. Here there should be an option to toggle duplexing either on or off for the printer.
For each specific print job, usually there is a way to deselect duplexing either on the main print option screen/window or though the "Preferences" option in the same fashion as above.
Let me know if this helps!

    Hi,
You can try installing Ghostery. It is available for download. It is an add-on to prevent tracking you by the websites. Check here for information: https://www.ghostery.com/

  • How do you turn off the auto select behavior when working with shape layers?

How do you turn off the auto select behavior when working with shape layers?
I am using either of the path selection tools to select only some of the paths on the layer. I have the proper layer targeted. I have the selection too auto select option turned off.
If another layer has a path in that area, that layer becomes auto targeted and I get the wrong path. Turning off the layer is the only way to avoid this but then I have to  turn on the layer back on between making my selection and transforming to use the other layer as guide. Is there any way to stop this auto select? Locking the other layer does not stop the auto select, just prevents editing.

As far as i know the move tool options don't have any effect on the path selection tools.
You might try clicking on one of the path points or on the path itself with one of path selection tools and if you want to select multiple points
you can shift click with the Direct Selection Tool or Alt click to select the entire path.

  • How do you turn off the auto grid?

How do you turn off the auto grid? I read in a forum that the solution is "View- show- turn off grid". But the weird thing is I had to have that website open to even get the alternative up under "View". If I didn´t, there were other alternatives there. Why?
The second problem is, when I finally got the "Turn off auto grid" alternative up, it will not be unchecked…. I´m working on a mac.
    Thank you in advance!

How do you turn on the radio feature?  I don't see it on the home screen.

If you don't see the radio icon on the home screen, it is likely just turned off in the settings. Go to
    Settings > General > Home Screen >
There you will see radio listed. Make sure that the slider is set to ON.

How can you turn off the braille setting on an iPhone 4s, once on it won't let you slide the phone into use mode to change the settings or do anything?

An alternate method is Accessibility Settings when connected to iTunes. You should be able to turn it off there. I would also check out some of the answers listed to the right of this post and see if they can help.
