How do you un-install Lion and go back to Leopard?

How do I un-install Lion and return to  Leopard?

I believe you mean to return to Snow Leopard:
Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1.  Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.  If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

  • How do you remove telstra messages and go back to visual messages on iphone

How do you remove telstra messages and go back to visual messages on iphone

Should be pretty easy as follows:
1 - Make sure you have copies of any pictures you want that are inside Aperture somewhere on your computer.
2 - Quit Aperture > Remove any Aperture icon from dock > drag the Aperture program (lens icon) from Applications folder to the Trash > proceed through any warning dialog (including entering password as required) to complete the process.
Note - new security features in OS X Lion may present those warning dialogs to prevent accidental deletion of Apple programs.
3 - Hold down the 'Option' key and use the 'Go' menu in menu bar and select the 'Library' option.
4 - In the Library folder, open the 'Application Support' folder and delete any Aperture folder found.
5 - While still in the Library folder, open the 'Preferences' folder and delete both the 'com.apple.Aperture.plist' and 'com.apple.Aperture.plist.lockfile' file.
6 - While still in the Library folder, open the 'Caches' folder and delete the 'com.apple.Aperture' folder.
7 - Go the your 'Pictures' folder and drag the 'Aperture Library' (may be named Aperture Trial Library or similar) to the Trash to delete it as well.
8 - Empty the Finder Trash to remove Aperture.
Note - there are some files and Aperture folders in the '/Library' folder (which is in the root of your system drive), but you don't really need to remove those. Since you are a beginner, it is probably better not to for now.
    That should do it.
Additional edit: There are two Library folders I am referring to. The first is the one in your user account 'Home' folder which is the one you are going to by using the 'Go' menu. This is the one you are deleting files from in the steps listed. The second Library folder is the one in the root of your system drive and is not typically a location for beginners to work with (thus the final note above). Hope that is clear enough.

  • Firefox 5 has lost all my chrome tab's and capabilities which came with 4? how do I un install 5 and get back to my version 4?

firefox 5 has lost all my chrome tab's and capabilities which came with FF4? how do I un install 5 and get back to my version 4 & retain all my bookmarks at least I's also like to retrieve my Chrome capabilities as well?

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third party version of Firefox 4 that runs on OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
Mozilla are working to prevent Mac users with non-compatible systems from getting the notification about Firefox 4, and also not displaying the "Download Firefox 4" button on http://www.mozilla.com

  • How do I uninstall OS Lion and revert to Snow Leopard

Hi all, I need to use Microsoft Office Mac Version in my work. And OS X Lion don't support that. I am desparate to know how do I unistall the OS X Lion, and revert to Snow Leopard so that I can resume working on my MacBook Pro. Please help.....

MS Office for mac 2004 is indeed incompatible I believe but 2008 onwards isn't. You should consider upgrading your MS Office to be compatible. Apple is not responsible for making 3rd party software compatible with its OS, its the 3rd party developers who updates their softwares and drivers.
You can certainly revert back to Lion BUT it depends what type of machine do you have?Did you purchase Lion as an upgrade?is your machine Lion preinstalled?

Your phone connected, iTunes running, on the "Summary Pane", put a check in the box labled "Manually Manage Music & Videos". Hit Apply...you'll get a popup telling you that that the music content, currently on your phone, will be erased. Then, start dragging/dropping.

  • How can I delete Mt. lion and go back to Snow Leopard?

I just installed Mt. lion and learned that I can no longer use Microsoft products (Excel and Word). These are MUST apps. How do I go back to Snow Leopard?

The reason Office will not run is because you are trying to run Office 2004 which is coded for the PowerPC that is no longer supported. If that is your only problem with Mountain Lion then I would suggest you upgrade Office rather then downgrade the operating system.
If you still wish to downgrade, you can't install an older version of OS X on a disk with a newer version installed. So the first step is that the disk must first be erased. That means that everythinbg will be removed from the disk. So you must backup anything you want first. It also means that you are going to have install all of your applications again which are not part of the operating system.
There are free version of Office available such as OpenOffice and NeoOffice, you don't want to pay Microsoft for their upgrade.

  • How do I add Mountain Lion and still keep Snow Leopard for use on specific software

I currently am using OS 10.6.8 which supports Final Cut Studio version 7.5. I do not wish to change my Final Cut work, however I am now developing APPS and need the xcode tools which are only supported on OS 10.7 or higher. Can someone please direct me to any information on how I can set up my Macbook Pro to run both OS systems?

No, you buy & install Mountain Lion on a new partition, leaving the original alone. You will need to reboot from one to the other to use either version of the OS.
As you can see from this I still have Lion on my internal while I'm running Mountain Lion on an external drive - this may also be an option for you?

  • How do I uninstall mountain lion and go back to lion, how do I uninstall mountain lion and go back to lion

Please help!!! I dont like it!

The installer may do squirrelly things in an upgrade like nip and tuck the code, turning Lion into Mountain Lion.  The best option is to do a fresh install.  Do a Time Machine backup of your files (you can probably exclude the system folder and apps - just download them again from the App Store).  Concentrate on your home folder - iTunes files, your library folder, iPhoto library, etc.  Re-download Mountain Lion from the App Store.  If the installer starts, quit the app.  Now go to your Application folder and find the Mountain Lion installer.  View the contents of the package and go to Contents:SharedSupport:InstallESD.dmg.  Drag the .dmg file to your desktop or someplace else convenient.  Next, open Disk Utility and burn the disk image to an 8 GB DVD or flash drive.  If you burn it to a flash drive, you may get an error saying the burn failed.  If it burned for a while, long enough for the image to actually copy over, ignore it.  Reboot your Mac whole holding down the Option key with the flash drive in a USB port or DVD in the drive.  You should get the option to boot from that drive.  Select the Mountain Lion DVD/USB option to test the boot.  You can then either continue the installation or quit the installer until you're ready.
If you purchased Lion from the App Store previously, there doesn't seem to be a way to download Lion within Mountain Lion. You may have a friend with either Lion or a newer Mac with Snow Leopard installed, if so, you may want to login to their App Store, download it, and try to install Lion that way.  If you bought your Mac with Lion preinstalled, you won't be able to download Lion at all.

  • How to I get rid of Lion and get back to Leopard?

Please tell me how to get rig of Lion.  Leopard was absolutley perfect, I want it back!!!  Thanks.

The general rule (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2186) is that you do not run an earlier version than what came with the system.  In the case of systems sold since July this year, Lion is basically your only viable option (aside from a few success stories running SL).
If you have had the system for years, then simply re-install the last Leopard backup after erasing the internal drive.

  • How can I uninstall Mountain Lion and go back Lion?

I have tried everything. My MacBook Pro is just not the same since ML. I want to get rid of it and go back Lion. What is the easiest way to do so?

Clearing cache is a poor thing to do to improve system performance.
In fact, when you clear cache you actually slow your system down until cache is reloading again.
Yes, it is true cache can get corrupt and have to be cleared. This happens so infrequently that it is almost never a required solution unless you have problems that are specific to corrupt cache.
By the way why are you replying to my post when in fact your comments have nothing to do with my post at all.

  • How would you re-install lion onto a crashed or new hard drive with no install disk ?

lets say my hard drive crashed or i bought a new one and wanted to install OS X Lion, due to it being a file you download , would you burn it to a disk or toss it onto a flash drive?

You could use either. There already has been posted information on the procedure: Burning A Lion Boot Disc.
Oh, I should add: it would require a Dual-Layer DVD or an 8 GB USB flash drive. You can also clone it to an external or internal hard drive or partition on a hard drive of around 10 GBs.
Cloning to disk drives should be done using Disk Utility or Carbon Copy Cloner. As of now SuperDuper! is an unknown. Use Disk Utility to burn to a DVD.
