How do you undefine a _fix_control setting in Oracle 10.2.0.4 ?

Per an SAP recommendation of a post go-live review I've been asked to remove the following two fix control settings.
SETTINGS DEFINED BUT NOT RECOMMENDED
Value
6120483:OFF
6329318:OFF
I tried alter system unset but found this to be an illegal option in sqlplus. I made a copy of the init<SID>.ora and spfile<SID>.ora. The entries are located in the spfile but not the init<SID>.ora. I thought about copying the init<SID>.ora to spfile (create spfile from pfile;) from sqlplus but don't want to loose anything other than the noted fixcontrol settings. What can I do to remove these fixcontrol settings from the database?

Hello Jeff,
It seems that you already solved the issue, but I'd like to comment it for clarification.
fixcontrol is a parameter that allows several "values" to be set.
If you have one missing or you have to delete one (or more) you have to set completely the parameter.
That means that if it is set with values "a" "b" "c" "d" (for example) and you want to delete "c", you cannot do it like that, you set the fixcontrol to "a" "b" "d" otherwise you can have problems.

If you'd like to change the audio output of your Mac, you can do so by accessing the Sound preferences in your System Preferences.
Before you start, open the Output pane of Sound preferences (choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Sound, then click Output).
Choose a sound output device
From the list of sound output devices, select the one you want to use. All sound output devices available to your Mac are listed, including the computer’s internal speakers, devices plugged into your computer’s sound port (), USB speakers, and AirPlay devices.
For any device plugged into the computer’s sound port, choose Headphones.

There is no analog to MS Excels print range. So the next best thing is to plan your data so that you don't need to use print range. The next best thing after that is to select the range of cells you want to print, then copy, the switch to the application Preview, and create a new document from the clipboard (select the menu item "File > New from Clibboard") then select all, copy then paste to the destination (maybe an email) .
You can also paste that portion of the table into another table (or a new table) by pasting values only

The export dialog is manipulated in the same way as any window. If you don't have enough screen real estate to grab the edges of the dialog and change it's size, then you may need to work on a larger screen, or at least increase the display resolution of the screen you're on.

How do you define which character set gets embedded with a font embedded in the library (i.e. Korean)?

I have project that uses a shared fonts. The fonts are all
contained in a single swf ("fonts.swf"), are embedded in that swf's
library and are set to export for actionscript and runtime sharing.
The text in the project is dynamic and is loaded in from
external XML files. The text is formatted via styles contained in a
CSS object.
This project needs to be localized into 20 or so different
languages.
Everything works great with one exception: I can’t
figure out how to set which character set gets exported for runtime
sharing. i.e. I want to create a fonts.swf that contains Korean
characters, change the XML based text to Korean and have the text
display correctly.
I’ve tried changing the language of my OS (WinXP) and
re-exporting but that doesn’t work correctly. I’ve also
tried adding substitute font keys to the registry (at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes) as outlined here:

but the fonts I added did not show up in Flash's font menue.
I’ve also tried the method outlined here:

I know that it is easy to specify the language you want to
use when setting the embed font properties for a specific text
field but my project has hundreds of text fields and I'm setting
the font globally by referencing the font symbols in a single swf.
I have looked at the info you've pointed out but wasn't
helped by it. What I'd like to be able to do is to tell Flash to
embed a language specific character-set for the font symbols in the
library. It currently is only embedding Latin characters even
though I know the fonts specified contains characters for other
languages.
For example. I have a font symbol in the libary named
"Font1". When I look at its properties I can see it is spcified as
Tahoma. I know the Tahoma font on my system contains the characters
for Korean but when I compile the swf it only contains Latin
characters (gylphs) - this corresponds to the language of my OS (US
English). I want to know how to tell Flash to embedd the Korean
language charaters rather than or as well as the Latin characters
for any given FONT SYMBOL. If I could do that, then, when I enter
Korean text into my XML files the correct characters will be
available to Flash. As it is now, the characters are not available
and thus the text doesn' t display.

How do you change the default setting in the motions tab?

We have two macs in our editing suite. Both are running FCP studio 2. One of the macs has a default setting for the drop shadow of 2 in the motion tab. The other mac has the default setting of 10. How can I change the default settings (not as a favorite) so that when I open a clip in the viewer the default setting will always be my preference (1.5) instead of the standard 10. I also want to change the opacity to 90% as the default.

Below is a step-by-step process for changing the default font in CS6, Illustrator, Mac, Mountain Lion, 10.8.2.
There are several additiional steps needed to make this work.

To Change Default Font in CS6-Ai-Mac-Mountain Lion, 10.8.2
On desktop menu bar, hold down Option key, go to GO, pull down to Library.
Open Application Support, ~ Adobe, ~ Adobe Illustrator CS6, ~ en_us ~ New Document Profiles
Six choices appear (you can change each that you use, one at a time)
Example: Double click Basic RGB.ai
A Basic RGB.ai blank document window opens
In Menu Bar, go to Window ~ Type ~ Character Styles
A sub-window opens with (Normal Character Style) highlighted in Blue
Double click the highlighted name and another sub-window opens
In left of this window, choose Basic Character Formats
Change to desired Font Family, Font Style, Size, etc.
Click OK when finished, widow disappears to reveal Character Styles sub-window
Click anywhere on the blank document in order to get option to Save
Save the document
Close Character Styles sub-window
Quit Illustrator
Re-launch Illustrator CS6 ~ New document … check Font tool to confirm changed default font

How do you know what EQ setting applies?

In my ipod, when I go into settings and choose EQ, I then select one of the options, such as POP. After I make my selection, it goes back to the previous menu of settings. The display next to EQ continues to display ">". Why doesn't it display the option I selected? I would have expected to see it show "POP" instead of ">". Is it working right?
Also, while listening to a song, can the EQ be changed so I can hear what the song sounds like with the various EQ settings?

The > just means there is a submenu. It's not supposed to display your selection.

I've tried going to settings to change it, even created a new custom one (so it's two taps instead of a very long and battery draining buzz) but the default is still being used. I need the phone to be silent at work, but I'd like a simple "tap" from it when I receive an incoming message. Any suggestions? From other forums I've read, this may be an issue with the Android OS rather than this particular phone.

How can you change the default setting for the alarm for new events?

When I create a new Event, it will create an alarm that will activate 15 minutes before the event. I'd like to change the settings so the default setting would be that when I create a new event it will activate 1 day before the actual event. Is it possible to change this? Thanks.

_Go to iCal > Preferences > General >"Add a default alarm to all new events and invitations"
_Change the current value from 15 minutes to whatever minute value you like (1440 for 24 hours).
_Of course this will only affect NEW events. Not those already created.
_Close the window and your done.

Are you talking about the ePrintCenter website? I have never encountered the issue that you are speaking of on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or FireFox and I use it daily. If it is not displaying properly, I would recommend using a different browser. It's actually pretty simple. As soon as you register and log in, all you have to do is press the "Add Printer" button and enter your printer code, then customize your ePrint email address and hit save.
