Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard (see below.) I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
If you have Snow Leopard Time Machine backups, do a full system restore per #14 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions. If you have subsequent backups from Lion, you can restore newer items selectively, via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 there, but be careful; some Snow Leopard apps may not work with the Lion files.

I never had happen on app store but try this:
Removing or clearing stored Safari content
To clear your history from Safari, tap Settings > Safari > Clear History
To clear all cookies from Safari, tap Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data

Any extension that was properly updated for Firefox '''4.0''', shouldn't automatically be disabled in Firefox 10.0 for being "incompatible". I have never used CoolIris myself, when I tried it a few years ago it "sucked the life" out of my PC, so I can't comment specifically about that add-on. But I have 60 extensions installed and only one was disabled with the Firefox 10.0 update - an extension that was not correctly updated a year ago; it still works in Firefox but I have to play with it after every Firefox update to get the new version to accept it and use it.

My mac keeps freezing on me, particularly when Im on safari. The most annoying part is that it happens three or four times in a matter of an hour, and then Im prompted to submit a report that feels like a joke considering that we have yet to see an update for lion solving this issue, and the problem persists. When I clicked the option for uninstalling the app, the link tried to download an *.exe file. I am a MAC user!!! Also, Deals4U does not show up in my Add-ons or Extensions. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.

I am running a dual boot installation of Winodws 8.1 and 10 Techical Preview, and I like to know how do you uninstall the Windows 10 from the dual boot scheme? I think I've uninstalled previous beta versions of windows 8 by erasing the partition it
was installed into and that was it. Is this the correct way to remove window 10 too? Just asking, since the graphical version of the OS boot screen is present in this dual boot installation, does that change anything.

Logon to your Win 8.1 > press the Win logo key and R key . You are now at Run window> at the Run box type diskmgmt.msc > OK
You are now at Disk Management window > right click at the partition that house your Win 10 TP > click Delete Volume > the partition is now UNALLOCATED.
At the left of it is your Win 8.1 partition. Yes ?
If yes, right click at Win 8.1 partition > click Extend Volume > click Next > at Select the amount of space in MB, type in the maximum available space shown for the unallocated space in MB > Next > Finish
The space shrunk for Win 10 partition is now back to your Win 8.1

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.

Rather than fiddle with the tar file, if it wasn't saved, or using Pacifist, simply DL and install the
Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 update. It'll wipe all Safari 5.1 components and install Safari 5.0.5.

App Store drawing: "You have entered too many times today"

There's a limit of 25 entries per day in the current App Store giveaway/drawing/whatever, but on the second try filling out the webform (http://www.apple.com/itunes/billion-app-countdown/entryform/), I get a "you have entered too many times today" error. Anyone else get this?
Edit: I just tried it again and it worked. Apparently you have to wait five minutes or so between entries, which is reasonable. I guess they didn't have the budget to write two different error messages.

Do you mean you want to remove Classic (OS 9)?
If so, there's not much to it. First, be sure you don't need, or plan to use any OS 9 or earlier applications. You'll need Classic to run them if you do. Second, back up any files created with those older apps if you need to.
Once you're ready, delete the following folders:
System Folder (NOT System. That's the OS X system folder.)
Applications (Mac OS 9) (NOT Applications. Those are the OS X apps.)
If OS X complains that it can't empty the trash because "items are in use", restart and you should then be able to empty the trash.
