Remove the "MacKeeper" crapware as follows.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions, nor do I intend to repeat the test.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Applications from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Drag it to the Trash. A dialog will pop up asking why you want to uninstall it. You don't have to provide that information. Enter anything you like in the text box, then click the Uninstallbutton. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. That's the only useful feature of "MacKeeper:" it deletes itself. Reboot.
Do not try to uninstall by dragging the MacKeeper icon from the Dock to the Trash.
Here are some general suggestions. If you want your computer to be usable, don't install crapware, such as “themes,” "haxies," “add-ons,” “toolbars,” “enhancers," “optimizers,” “accelerators,” “extenders,” “cleaners,” “defragmenters,” “firewalls,” "barriers," “guardians,” “defenders,” “protectors,” most “plugins,” commercial "virus scanners,” or "utilities." Firefox used to follow the Windows 7 theme in the address toolbar; if the windows are coloured green then the address toolbar is coloured green. Now the Address toolbar is a gross grey-blue colour. I would really love any solutions that did not require me to install a new theme, as whenever I have done that in the past it has always impaired performance (slows down the loading of the browser).

You can use a custom style rule to change the color. Custom style rules can be applied to the user interface either using the Stylish extension or by creating a file named userChrome.css in your profile (settings) folder.
To create the rule, though, I think someone might need to see the particular shade of green. I don't know whether it is possible to detect that automatically.
Alternately, you could make the background of the address bar transparent so the color behind it shows through. If that looks too naked, one might try a translucent background (e.g., white, but only 10% opaque so most of the background color shows through).

If you are trying to turn on the bookmarks bar go to Settings>Safari>Always Show Bookmarks Bar>On.
But as ClayG said - there is no toolbar other than what is visible already in Safari - the < (back) > (forward) buttons, the Bookmarks icon, and the "add to/print" icon - the curved arrow pointing right that is next to the url/address field.

Since then was told by technicians of my ip to use Revo uninstaller the free ed. Next step was go to tools then options. The Extensions and Updates screen says that is must be installed from Control Panel's Programs and Features. However there is no item there to accomplish this (at least not with a recognizable name).
The same question applies to the other marginally useful extensions/tools, like Windows Phone 8.1 SDK Integration, Behaviors SDK, Microsoft ASP.NET, etc.
I fail to understand why this bloatware is not uninstallable.

Beyond wondering why you'd want to uninstall the best bit, have you tried downloading
the standalone installer and seeing if that will offer a repair/uninstall choice?
Otherwise you just have to tell yourself that disk space is cheap these days, and that at least you don't get frequent alerts announcing updates like you do for things like the various Win8/Win8Phone Advertising SDKs (even on Win7 where you can't actually

Nope... Thanks, but Safe Mode does not do the trick. Oh sure you can move the buttons around and rearrange things to your liking, unfortunately it does not stay that way once you get out of Safe Mode.
I guess if you use an XP machine you are doomed to use FF's interpretation of what it should look like, which is ass backwards from what it has been for the past FIVE YEARS!!! Why not? It seems XP users are now the Freddo's of computing.
Someone should go to you developer's homes move everything around, forks in the basement, beds in the bathroom, TV up in the attic with the mice, dining table outside on the porch, see how you like it.

use - about:config and search for skype. in the extensions. part use modify (there is no delete) - Firefox team please note - need a delete here. Anyway, modify to remove these extensions and all should be okay. doesn't work with the mystart malware as this is still on your PC and therefore when Firefox starts up, it puts itself back into the extensions. this may be the same with some toolbars.
