First check to be sure your hardware meets the hardware requirements for Lion.
Backup your data. I suggest a bootable clone as the way to go.
Then open App Store and purchase and download the Lion installer.
    Then install Lion.

    To get Snow Leopard:
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    To upgrade further see:
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • How do you upgrade from iOS 4 to iOS 5?

How do I upgrade from iOS 4.3.4 to at least iOS 5 or 6.  I have been told to do it through iTunes but have not found the app yet.  I am not real good at this sort of thing and could use any advice.  I changed from ATT to Consumer Cellular service and my phone will not connect to the internet unless I upgrade to at least iOS 5.

  • How do I upgrade from Lightroom 1 to 4 or 5?

I have registered my Lightroom 1, but it doesn't show as being registered in Creative Cloud. When I go to add the serial number, it says it's already registered and I can't add it. It's not syncing, even though my email addresses are the same. I figure there will be a cost involved from upgrading from 1 to any other version which I am okay with, but the only options I can find are to buy new, as it's not registering that I've paid for Lightroom 1. Or, because it's so old does it not matter and I just have to start from scratch?
I tried to do the online chat with Adobe, but it kept giving me an error on the page and pointing me to the forums.
    Thank you.

I cannot make the decision for you about subscribing to the creative cloud. It's an excellent program, and it provides you access to the latest Photoshop and Lightroom. If you have installed Lightroom 5 as a trial version from the creative cloud then it will be necessary for you to uninstall that installation because it cannot be activated with a serial number. It is the same program, but it is licensed completely differently. If you really want to purchase Lightroom 5, then you can purchase it from the following website:
    Products
Lightroom is toward the bottom of the page. You'll notice that it says that you can upgrade from $79. When you click on the buy Link you should be able to purchase an upgrade. When you do you will be sent instructions on where to download the program from, and you will be provided with your serial number.
If you decide to subscribe to the creative cloud then you won't have a serial number for Lightroom or Photoshop. Both programs are activated using your Adobe ID and password. And you won't need your Lightroom 1 serial number because you aren't purchasing an upgrade.

  • How do you upgrade from CD-1 4th to 5th edition in CiscoWorks 2k?

Cisco.com has 3rd to 5th edition migration tools, but none for 4 to 5.
How is this done? What tool? Where obtained? What URL?
    Thanks!!

You don't need any kind of migration tools for upgrading from 4th to 5th Ed. You can directly upgrade from 4th to 5th Ed.
Refer to the section "Performing an Upgrade Installation->Upgrading from CD One, 4th Edition" in the Install Guide of 5th Ed for the procedure:

  • How do you upgrade from CS 5.5 Creative Suite to CS6?

I heard there's a way to upgrade from CS 5.5 to CS 6, and am wondering how.
    Thank You!

There was a deal for a free upgrade back in mid '12, I think. I didn't act on it as I was super busy and/or traveling. Anyway, it's over now. I just bought CS6 today myself. I ordered the box vs download as I was experiencing long times and errors trying to get the .dmg for CS5.5 so I could install on my new machine. It's $375 US for CS6 if you own 5.5. Just go to their product page.

  • How do i upgrade from lightroom 4 purchased on itunes?

I'm trying to install Lightroom 6 upgrade but the version of Lightroom 4 that I am using was purchased on Apple ITunes and so there is no serial number to insert for the older version.

Hi Allan. This is possible, but you will need to contact Adobe Support. When you do, please reference this article:  https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/upgrade-mac-app-version-lightroom.html  As long as you reference that article, Support will know what to do.

  • How do you upgrade from 10.5.8

I'm currently running 10.5.8 on my iMac from 2007 and was thinking about upgrading the OS, but is that even possible? I've searched around the Apple store and forums and Google but there doesn't seem to be anything, it all requires you to go through the app store to buy an OS upgrade, but to install the app store you need an OS upgrade, and you have to go through the app store to buy an OS upgrade, but to install the app store.......

Before you buy anything check your mac is compatible with your needs.

  • How do you upgrade from PowerMac 10.4.11?

Is it possible to upgrade a PowerMac 10.4.11 to 10.6.11 or higher.  If so, what are the proceedures, and methods of doing this. Or I am just stuck with an obsolete computer?  Am I new to the apple world, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, and welcome.
Numbers like 10.4.11 tell you which operating system (OS) your computer is running, but do not tell you which is the latest OS your computer could run. To dermine that you need the precise model of Power Mac you have.
This site will help you identify the model, and will also tell you the highest OS it can handle.
