We have an iPad, four iphone 3gs and a new iphone4. We use one apple Id for each with iCloud. Do we need a new apple Id for the 4gs? Also how do we share the iPad between the iPhones for music & apps. Thanks.

This could be important with iMessage or Facetime, because if you associate all your devices with one ID, you will receive iMessages or Facetime calls on all your devices simultaneously. If you only want to do iMessage on your iPhone, for example, people could use the Apple ID associated with your iPhone, and the messages would not show up on your iPad. And just in case you were wondering, installing one purchased copy on all the Macs you own is specifically called out as allowed in the Mac OS X Lion license.
If you do not want to download multiple times, just copy the Applications -> Install Lion app to a safe place BEFORE you do the first install. Then copy that copy to any Mac you own where you want to install Lion.

Presumably you mean you are sharing the same iCloud account? Except for turning off contacts on one of the devices, you can't stop sharing contacts. iCloud accounts are not designed to be shared among different people with different personal data.
You should each gave your own personal iCloud account, setup under your own individual AppleID.
You can still use the shared AppleID for the iTunes and AppStore purchases you already have though.

Long story short, my mom is in the same hospital as my sister in the emergency room since she had a heart attack/nervous attack and had to be there for testing. -- Thing is, i want her to Facetime me with an alternate email from my iCloud so she's able to see her grandson while i'm with her.

(Hybrid implying the use of iMessage/Facetime with an alternate email and not my cell number or primary account email.)

Cause she has one of my alternate emaisl currently listed on the iPad (and i unselected those on my iPhone) and it seems that it's not registering as an iMessage when i try to send her a message via my iPhone.

From what it sounds like you are wanting to sign out of iCloud with the "old" ID and sign in with the new. The following Knowledge Base article should help you with that issue:

Specifically:
To change a secondary account to a primary account
iOS 5 or later:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Delete the secondary account.
Tap the Back button.
Tap iCloud.
Delete the primary account.
Add the secondary account that you want to be your primary account.

My husband's iphone4 seems to have 2 apple ids. The one listed in the featured section of the App Store is the correct one. The one that asks to be signed into for purchase and updates is also mine, and the incorrect one. Hence, our devices are linked. How can I remove my apple Id from his phone so that there is no connection between the two?

I think it may be because he got his phone first and not seeing a future issue, I set his phone up to my already existing apple Id used for my iPod. If I connect his iPhone to our pc, can I create his own apple id account?

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

RTMP is TCP, which has higher overhead and latency because it guarantees packets are delivered (handshaking, causing latency and overhead). It also doesn't allow you to share connections directly between clients forcing the server to do all the work.
RTMFP uses UDP, which is a choice protocol for streaming video because it's the opposite. It's lossy which decreases latency and overhead from no retransmissions and most importantly (in some applications) allows you to connect directly from one Flash Player to another Flash Player (p2p) so the server overhead is dramatically reduced. The server is only required to negotiate the initial connection and then it's up to the clients to continue to facilitate that.
How you code your one to many or many to many relationship broadcast network will be based entirely on which of those you choose.
URLStream is very common to use in p2p. Here's an older Adobe article on p2p and an alternate quick old video tutorial (FP10) as a quick simple example of p2p over RTMFP you can view the source of.

I would like to use 1 Apple ID instead of 2. I know that Apple ID's cannot be merged.
My original solution was to change my Apple ID, which is a Yahoo address to an iCloud address. However, you cannot do this since it is an Apple domain. So what I have done is put all I could on the Yahoo one. The only thing is I still need iCloud to do Notes.
Why does Apple appear to use 1 username to setup your whole Mac or iOS device, but then you are required to have always two to get all functionality. Of course there is nothing saying you need to, but I don't see a way around this.

This came up when I tried to enable Notes. This may be the solution to my problem. icloud / me won't work when you change from @yahoo to one of those domains. Specifically it tells you no to use a Apple owned domain so I don't know.

Won't let me change it. How can I get them to update to new apple ID? I'm not able to complete any updates for apps. As user ID is pre-populated and just gives me the option to input my password.

Unable to use the same ID for ipad and iphone

When I enter Apple ID and password to install application on Iphone, It is notified that " your password was entered incorrectly", eventhough those ID and password work normally on Ipad. What is the possible problem ?

@Randers4: The thing is, they are the same account. I registered as "elonka" way back when, and then the login changed to the email address, "[email protected]" at some point. The password is the same. But when my phone gets into this odd state, even though I am entering the correct password, it acts as though I have entered an incorrect password.
One other thing that seems to affect it, is whichever app I have most recently made an IAP (In-App Purchase) on. So if I made a purchase as "elonka", then that seems to be the default that shows up when I try to update any other app, and I can't log out from it. Or if I made an in-app purchase as "[email protected]", then that one becomes the default.
It sounds to me like a bug, and that what is needed is for the Store logout to clear both the account name of "what app was recently downloaded" *and* the account name for "what in-app purchase has most recently been made".
