How do you verify the completeness of a restoration drill?

One responsibility of the DBA is to ensure the database backups are usable. Running the restore / recover commands in rman is easy. However, how would you verify the correctness of the restoration? Or do you believe that when rman says it's Ok and oracle merrily open the database, then it's OK? And how about point-in-time recovery (which seems even more difficult to verify)?
(Even though this is a generic question, here is the a database version if needed as basis of discussion:
Oracle: 10.2.0.4
OS: RHEL 4

I would prefer the verification to be done in database perspective. If there is no data loss / inconsistence in the database, it should also be OK for the application.
And if queries on key tables were used, has any one experienced any issue? If so, what's the cause and what's the resolution? And for restoration for hot backup or point in time recovery, it is difficult to confirm what's correct result, because the data was not fixed during the restoration.

The first part of that message means your firewall most likely has blocked access ot the download link.
When you see it during an uninstall, it means it's trying to remove a fiel that no longer exists.
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
You may need to disable your antivirus if you continue to see the "source not available" message.

If you mean in the Downloads tab at the bottom of the iTunes app then you shouldn't need to. That tab just shows whether you have any available downloads from iTunes, if there aren't any then you just get the Terms link. If you've bought the film then it should have downloaded into the Videos app where you should be able to watch it.

How do you update a form in FormsCentral? Specifically, the form that appears after pressing the "Submit" button? In addition, how do you add a "Reset" button?

You control what happens after clicking the submit button using settings in the Options tab. The Confirmation Message setting will allow you to customize the message that appears. The Redirect URL setting allows you to control where the user goes after the Confirmation Message. You can reload the form or direct the user do a different URL.

I am running GW 8.0.2 Hot Patch 3, using SOAP schema 1.04.
When I attempt to process a message, that contains only a plain text body with a size (in bytes) of 64,382 - the following sizes are reported by objects extracted from GroupWise, via SOAP calls:
Message Size: 71,425 (should be bigger than the plain text body).
Message Part [0] length: 70,854 - no idea where this value comes from
In the getAttachmentResponse object, the part has:
length: 87,772 - Which matches the Base64 encoded length, plus padding, of the plain text.
The actual size of the plain text (on disk): 64,382
I am hoping to use the HTTP GET method for extracting the large plain text object, which means that I will not have access to the getAttachmentResponse object.
So my question is, based on the MessageBody, MessagePart[0] length of 70,854 - is there a formula, or other way to determine the correct expected byte size of the plain text object to enable me to verify that the HTTP GET operation or the SOAP getAttachmentRequest completed correctly?

Can I suggest an enhancement for a future release, to add an additional structure to the message object that allows you to detail the available formats and byte sizes of the formats that relate to the message body object. This could even be an extension/completion of the MessagePart object array on the Message Body. (One array component for each available format.) There are no issues when dealing with large body texts as attachments, but an accurate byte count is important to me.
This will enable us to verify that the message body content, downloaded from GroupWise, has not be corrupted during transfer - particularly important when using HTTP requests.

this is indeed possible.
You can check if the change value is larger than one character.
If so, the change value is pasted from the clipboard.
All you need is to add this Script (FormCalc) to the change event of your field.

Lightroom does not use the ACR Plugin. The best way to think about Lightroom is that it is "ACR" with lots of other functions/modules, Library, Web, Print, Publish etc. all in one Stand Alone Software package.
It does not require any other Adobe software to be installed on your computer for it to be fully functional.
It is not a substitute for Photoshop Cs / Elements but more of an alternative to ACR/Bridge that provides many of the functions of Lightroom but through PS CS..
That said you need to be running Lightroom 4.2 which is the equivalent of ACR 7.2. LR and ACR are updated simultaniously or within a few days of each other.

How can I read the complete text I see in spotlight?

Hey just here to ask a quick question. I just noticed that I can still see messages that i deleted (or so I thought) on spotlight. Now, I would like to know how I can see the complete message. On spotlight you can only see a few words of the text but I would like to read the complete message if possible. I don't sync my phone at all but I do have the icloud on. I tried restoring my phone but I don't have any space left on it. Also, the details show that my phone was last backed up on March or so, does that mean I can view all the deleted messages since March or only the messages I deleted before March?? Please help. Hope I'm very clear and understandable.

How do you change the default size of the print batch size for mail merge in Publisher 2010?

I appended this question to another thread with the same topic but have not received a reply, so I'll try with a new question. Publisher 2010, when doing mail merge, will only merge and print two records at a time. How do you change the default size of
the print batch size? This is for a 4 page document, 8 1/2 x 11, printed two sides on 11 x 17. I've tried all the suggestions that were in the other thread. The response that was marked as the answer by the moderator is incorrect and does not work. Nothing
suggested in that thread works. A registry fix that worked for Publisher 2003 won't work because the print batch size key does not exist in the registry for Pub 2010. At least not that I can find. Printing to an XPS document doesn't work. It asks for a filename,
prints 2 records, asks for new file name, prints 2 records, asks for new file name, and so on. The same for printing to a PDF document. Merging to a new Pub document doesn't work. When I print that job every other sheet is turned over. I.e., sheet one has
pages 1 & 3 on top, next sheet has 3 & 4 on top, and so on. This makes it impossible to run them through the folder. The same thing happens when I print that complete merged document to XPS or PDF. I have the latest drivers installed for our printer, a Toshiba
2500C copier/printer connected via network. What do I need to do to to change the batch size to something reasonable, like 100 records?

I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
Can anyone please help?

How do you open the DVD tray on a K430 without using Windows Explorer? I can't find a button on or below the door. Am I missing something? Additionally, will the K430 boot from a DVD/CD if it finds one in the DVD tray instead of the hard disk? Please help. Thanks.

Regarding your questions:
1. Can you try to press the eject symbol on the DVD bay and observe if the DVD tray comes out.

2. By default, the HDD is set as the first boot device and the ODD second on the K430. You will need to change the boot order or continuously tap F12 during POST to boot from the ODD (assuming you have a bootable media inserted).

Sorry if this is in the wrong place or if this has been answered elsewhere but I couldn't seem to search "the database"
How do you reorder the pages in a PDF ie back to front (not individually via Page view). The manual solution of course is to scan or import them in the correct order in the first place. However, this did not happen, and we have many PDF's which are 100% in the wrong order. So we would like to press a button and have them in the right order.

Got it to work. It returned a completely different path of course just to make life interesting and required a FN+OPTION ENTER in order to return the path. I now have the FLATTEN option in the edit menu.
Just trying it checking all the Flatten options except the fields seemed to work on the first pass. I'm going to try and load a copy of the original complete document. I assume that is the proper way to use this at this point since I created the form ***-backwards?
I've used Adobe layout programs since the Aldus days but Acrobat seems to work differently than any other program I've used.
If I understand what you're saying I should:
1. Design the layout of the form leaving spaces for the fields
2. Open Acrobat, import the document
3. Auto-add and correct, or manually add the fields
4. Fix tabbing
5. Add any additional comments or annotations
6. Flatten everything but the fields? (If the fields are flattened I can't fill out the form unless it's supposed to be a printed form only, right?)
Might just have to break down and RTFM. Acrobat is a really different animal.
