How does a Oracle Partner Order AIM Avantage Software

Hi Please could you advise, how I can download or receive copies of the Oracle Applications Implementation Methodology (AIM Advantage).
http://www.oracle.com/partners/develop/implementation/global/aimfoundation.html
At the above link I have tried and tested AIM Foundation and I have had no success as the software errors, after investigating via Metalink I have found that the AIM foundation V3 does not work with Internet Explorer 6.0 or with Windows XP Professional.
Although on this particular webpage there is documentation on AIM Advantage V3 which appears to be the latest software, unfortunatley I have not been able to find the download link for this.
My question is, Is there a download link for AIM Advantage V3 or do we have to request for a CD version.

  • How does the Oracle DBMS locate the Oratab file?

I'm new to the Oracle environment. I have also successfully installed Oracle 11g on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 platform. How does the DBMS locate the oratab file? My oratab is located under the "/etc" sub-directory. How does the DBMS know to look their? If I wanted to change the location of my "oratab" file how do I point the DBMS to the new location?
    Thanks

The RDBMs does not care of the oratab file. (why should it?)
But some other scripts/utilities does. dbca, dbstart, dbshut and possible a lot others.
So if you want, you can delete or move this file without affecting any RDBMS, but you have to modify all scripts you use if they rely on oratab, and you have to accept some tools will provide unexpected results without it.
My personal suggestion: move oratab somewhere in your $ORACLE_BASE and create a symbolic link from this location to /etc/oratab.

  • How does iCal, or Calendar, order the display of multiple events for the same time?

I can't for the life of me figure out how iCal orders the display of multiple items at the same time.  Does anyone have a clue?  It's not alphabetical.  It's not according the the order of the calendars in the left pane.  Is it just random?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the focus lost eventhandling start a thread which does
    the actual handling.
the new thread waits for a little time (0.1 seconds)
the click event of the button checks for a thread like the one above and tells it not to execute
This way you execute the for the lost focus event only if
the ok button isn't clicked in the same process ... not
realy good, because it kind of relies on the ordering of threads ... but maybe it still works for you?

  • How does this Oracle job works

    Hi everyone!
One of my buddy has created t his job:
    sys.dbms_job.submit(jobno, 'SendEmail();', (sysdate + 2/86400), null);
Its sending the emails very frequently.
How should this job work? Please guide me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Nith

Here's a demo of an application code / user submitting a job frequently. Each time the JOB_ID changes but the job "seems" to be present in USER_JOBS. It is a new job each time ! The DBMS_JOB.SUBMIT call does not specify an INTERVAL, so a submitted job is executed only once and exits from the queue. The next submission seems to be the same job, but is actually a new one --- which you can identify because JOB_ID changes.

  • How does the return sales order captured the price for mat. Doc. during GI

    Dear Guru,
We have a commercial return sales order process, which we have created a Doc Type YR01 "Commercial Return"
everytime when this YR01 is been generated from the Customer Return PO, we need to change the MAP via tcode MR21.
Problem here, this time the user processed with a wrong step, the user straight away to create a DO and GI for this YR01  before the MAP is changed. SO obviously the price in Material Document generated when GI is inccorect, thus a reversal for this GI and DO is done.
After DO and GI is reversed, we update the correct MAP via MR21 and perform a DO and then GI, but we realized the Price in material document doesn't capture the latest updated MAP price.
So after many testing, we found there are 2 ways to solve this,
    1. Recreate a new YR01 Commercial return sales order
    2. Or during the MR21, select the variance "Special Stock - Sales Order"
    Question,
Can i know where does the SO capture the MAP price and where and which table that the MR21 will be updating when selected variant "special stock - sales order"?
    Thank you very much,
    Chee Wee

    Hi,
The price entered in MR21 updates the price for the material in material master "accounting 1" tab page. This will update the price in the table MBEW according to the valutaion class you have assigned to the material type.
If you are entering "Special Stock - Sales Order" in MR21. the valuation class for sales order stock should be assigned for the material in the material master "accounting 1" tab page MBEW-EKLAS, this valuation class will have an altogether different accounting, so according to me option 1 i.e reversal of document YR01 is a more easier solution.

  • How does the macbook pro act when processing software upgrades? How long does it usually take?

First-time Mac user here.....last night I did the Software Update on my Macbook Pro. It appeared to go through a normal process, then wanted to restart. It did; then I shut it down for the night. This morning, it said it needed to restart to process updates. It did. I used it all day, then proceeded to shut it down again. It went to a gray/blue screen, and has been there for over 2 hours now.  Is it still processing updates, or does it have a problem?

Sounds like it has a problem.

  • How does IDP handle multi-value attributes in directory?

I have a directory referenced by the IDP where the mail attribute is multi-value. Assertions being received by the SP are indicating that the mail attribute is null or empty. How does the Oracle IDP handle multi-value attributes from a directory? Is there a way to select the first entry in an array of multi-values?

On the IdP side, passing of multi-valued attributes is supported. Read this section:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10773_01/doc/oim.1014/b25355/configuring.htm#BCGCGFCJ
    Snippet (under 'Delimited Data'):
"In addition to supporting and passing multi-valued attributes, Oracle Identity Federation can also support delimited data to provide multiple values for assertion attributes ......"
This information is also available on the OIF screen for 'Add Assertion Profile'.
On the SP side, mapping a multi-valued assertion attribute to a local user attribute is NOT supported. Read this section:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10773_01/doc/oim.1014/b25355/configuring.htm#BCGGEAEA
    Snippet (under Submit/Reset button):
"Note: Mapping an assertion attribute containing multiple values to a local user is not supported."
So, basically, there is no way to send only the first value of an LDAP attribute.

  • How does Address Book syncing work?

I have an Iphone 4 o/s5 and a MacBook Air.  Under iCal preferences you can choose how often it syncs to iCloud and pushes (I guess) to my Mac and Iphone.  But the Address book is kind of a mystery to me.  I thought it was working but then I made some changes and it didn't seem to register them.  So does one have to have Safari running in the background (i.e. being 'signed in' to the master iCloud account) all the time?  Just how does it work in order to have changes in both iCal AND any contact info in Address book push to all devices?  (I also have a Win7 machine with the iCloud console but get Itunes errors - haven't figured that out yet!)

  • How does Oracle process DDL w/ refs to yet created objects?

If I have DDL for four procedures in one file, say ProcA ProcB ProcC and ProcD.
    ProcA references ProcD
    ProcB references ProcC
How does Oracle compile ProcA and ProcB if the order of the DDL in the file is like above.
Meaning ProcA and ProcB are compiled and ProcC and ProcD have yet to be created?

That's a fundamental problem with standalone procedures/functions - with any dependencies, you will have invalid objects after the initial pass. However, those procedures will be automatically recompiled as soon as executed.
If these four procedures were in a package, there would be no compilation dependency issues at all. Exactly what my knowledge told me.
What if it was concerning packages and a procedure in PackageA calls a Procedure in PackageB and PackageA's DDL is execute first, what happens?

  • How does jdbc fetch a set of records in oracle

    Hi,
Oracle does not support server side cursors,if so how does jdbc fetch a set of records(set by setFetchSize(), which is 10 by default) each time I say rs.next().Does this mean Query is re-executed to fetch the next set of records? Can some body throw some light on this?
    thanx in advance

You are asking about implementation details of some JDBC driver, but you don't say which one. This makes it very difficult to answer your question. You might want to try asking the question of the people who wrote the driver.

  • How does oracle know which AO Framework page or process to execute.

    Hi,
How does oracle know which AO Framework page or process to execute. I use to think this was defined in the Function definition. But looking through some Function definition in HRMS setup I noticed some of them simply calling the same first page, such as the one below used in many managers menus. This initial page is the page that allows managers to choose the employee they want to work on.
    OA.jsp?akRegionCode=HR_PERSON_TREE_TOP_SS&akRegionApplicationId=800.
My question is, after executing this initial page, how does Oracle then varies the OA page by the diffferent functions?

  • How does oracle suggest the archive log

    Hi All,
My question is about user managed backup and recovery.
For User managed hot database refreshes.
We  create a new controlfile and do cancel based recovery.
How does oracle suggest the next archive to apply when we do "recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;"
I mean we created a new control file ..rt.
where is the information about the archivelogs stored.
    Thanks,
    Silver

    In the controlfile.
The "using backup controlfile" means using a backed up controlfile, and you want to fool Oracle into thinking a point in time recovery will happen so don't use what would be the controlfiles current scn time to automatically say the recovery is complete.  If you have created a new controlfile, all it can know about is where the logs should be and compare to what log sequences the datafile headers have.  So it uses the init.ora parameters and what the data file headers have in them to figure it out. http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:3151992035532#36651366990046
If you backup controlfile to trace you can see log files that have the incarnation history.  See "Recovering Through a RESETLOGS with a Created Control File"  in Performing User-Managed Recovery: Advanced Scenarios

  • HT2470 Why does this not explain how to change the sort order?

Why does this (i.e. support at Apple.com) not explain how to change the sort order? I can "arrange" by Date Modified for example but it won't let me switch to use most recent dates first. Also, what is Apple-speak for arrange versus sort anyway? It seems I used to be able to click on a column heading in finder and get a drop down arrow allowing me to change the sort sequence.

Arrange roughly translates to "group the items in the folder." Sort is how each group is ordered. If you have arrange set to none, you can sort by anything. However, there is no way in the Arrange/Sort menu to choose the direction. The only way to do that is in the List View, and you must have Arrangement set to None.
I've submitted an Enhancement Request to allow choosing sort direction from the Arrange/Sort menu, but I haven't ever gotten a response, which is good and bad. Good because they will often respond that they have considered it and don't plan on implementing. Bad in that they've haven't implemented it.
