How does a subscriber update to Captivate 7?

Hello,
We are subscribers to Adobe Captivate 6.  How do we go about updating to 7?
Thank you!
Ryan

Hello Varun.
Thank you.  I downloaded it and am using it.  In my profile at Adobe.com, however, it shows that I am a subscriber to Captivate 6 still.  This doesn't mean I will suddenly not have access to Captivate 7 after my one month "trial", does it?  Right now, I have both versions on my computer.
Thank you!

  • How does the software updates actually get installed?

    Hello,
Yesterday I followed the steps to perform "To manually deploy the software updates in a software update group" or
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712304.aspx.  or pages 12-15.  In a nutshell, I created a Critical Update item with a collection of 3 servers.  When I look
at the Software Update Group area that lists the members that I created, I do see under the tabs that Deployed=Yes and Download=Yes for the items that I created.    However, this was not installed on any of the servers.   How does
this actually get installed on the collection servers?  Did I miss a step?   Do the client settings play a role here?  Please advise.
    Thanks for all the help!
    Reez

Kind of. Yes a software update scan cycle must run (a deployment eval doesn't), but it doesn't wait until the 7 day interval. Simply creating a new deployment in the console will trigger a software update scan cycle on targeted clients:
    http://blog.configmgrftw.com/notes-software-update-scan-cycle/
For your deployment, did you create a "Required" deployment?
Have you reviewed software center on the targeted clients?
Have you check wuahandler.log on the clients.

  • How does RSS SUBSCRIBE button work?

    Hello folks,
I am wondering, how do I input the information about my RSS feed, (like URL, etc.) into RSS SUBSCRIBE button. I insert this RSS BUTTON onto my podcast page, that's great. But how that button knows what URL of that feed is? What I mean is, don't I need to assign the information about my feed to that button somehow? I just don't understand, how would viewer be able to subscribe to my podcast by clicking on RSS SUBSCRIBE button when I did not assign feed URL to it. I have tried to find something in INSPECTOR, but I did not find any tools how to do this.
Thank you so much for any input.
    Cheers

    Hi Tom,
yes I had tried it on actual website, however, it was just very quick test, because I have that site for something completely different. But this is the scenario of what happened:
    website URL is www.icebergfilms.com
on that server I have a folder named: PODCAST and inside there is the feed called: bcoutdoor.xml
All podcast episodes are also inside this folder.
So when I paste this URL: http://www.icebergfilms.com/podcast/bcoutdoor.xml into iTunes, it uploads and plays that podcast fine. But when I publish my site (into the folder) with iWeb, typing www.icebergfilms.com into that box, and then upload it onto that server, the feed does not work if you click on SUBSCRIBE BUTTON.
That's what does not make sense to me, how would iWeb know to look for bcoutdoor.xml if I don't actually give it that information. (unless it just automaticaly looks for any .xml file on the server and makes link to it)
I would expect to have some tool in iWeb, how to assign ot attach that feed to that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON, but there in none.
Tom I really apologize for being such dummy and thank you again for your patience with me.
    Cheers

  • How does internal Flash update server get updated?

I just set up the directories described in the admin guide into a server running IIS7 and copied the Z files into the structure following these instructions:
    7. Copy the installer files (.z files) to the fp-major-version/install directory created in Step 2.
When finished, you see something similar to the following:
    https://your.server.com/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/xml/version.xml
    http://your.server.com/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/install/install_all_win_ax_sg n.z

    http://your.server.com/pub/flashplayer/update/current/sau/11/install/install_all_mac_pl_sg n.z
    Configure clients
    • Create an mms.cfg file with the following entries (replacing your.server.com with the name of your server):
    AutoUpdateDisable=0
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
    SilentAutoUpdateServerDomain=your.server.com
    • Deploy Flash Player 11.3 or higher.
    • Deploy the mms.cfg to all clients for which you want the Background Updater redirected to your internal server.
I'm guessing that the clientsthat are configured with the mms.cfg that points to our server downloads those .z files and the Flash updates are contained in those files.
That seens OK, but it isn't clear to me how the update server itself gets the next set of installer update files.
Do I have to wait until I hear there is another Flash update available and then go manually download and extract another cab into those directories each time?
Is there any way to set the update server to automatically download the newest cab  as soon as they are available and copy the z files from the cab into the correct directories?
Since 11.9 is the current version, I am also guessing there will be a Flash version 12 soon and a new "12" directory will have to be created for those updates.

  • How does one do updates when your service provider is s-l-o-w??                     According to the counter, our computer needs almost 20 hrs. of updates, is there a way to pick and choose which ones are downloaded?

We have a "Rocket Hub" and our download times vary greatly.  My husband's computer, Snow Leopard OS, shows he has about 20 hrs. of updates to download.  Is there a way to pick and choose so we can catch up?

Nope, because files sizes, machines, software installed are different and you can't control what needs to be installed first before others work.
Apple is all Internet, you should see Lion users, they can't reinstall their OS at all without a Internet connection. (or pay $69 for the Lion USB key) and then there still the updates to deal with.
So take a ride, to a Apple Store early in the morning before their network gets overloaded (what a way to get you in the door and buy more junk uh?) fully update to 10.6.8.
Good thing about Snow Leopard, not much more in large updates coming for that verision, in fact they will stop completely come next spring or so when 10.8 is released.
Unless you live in a wealthy area with broadband, your a nobody in Apple's viewpoint.
You could get a 3G laptop connect card, hopefully that will give you enough to download your updates but they cost a fortune.
If I could just provide you with update disk I would, but I can't, machines are different.
Call Apple and ask for a update disk, perhaps they have a solution
Once you do get all your updates, Carbon Copy Clone your boot drive to a external drive, it's hold the option key bootable duplicate.
    Donationware too.

  • How does the latest update affect apple t.v.

I read specs on latest iTunes update and there was a mention of new wireless sharing of photos. Nothing looks different on apple tv-can anyone shed light on this?

Photo streaming is now a feature for the tv. Previously all you were able to do was sync photos from the primary source. If you have more than one itunes library registered with the tv you will now notice photos are available from all your sources. If you have only one itunes library registered to the tv then not a lot as changed except you will notice photos are now available both from the source 'tv" and "My itunes Library"

  • How does it work for synchronous update via distributed scheme?

How does the synchronous update work between the primary JVM and backup JVM via the distributed cache threads?
Once a primary distributed worker thread updates the cache, the update needs to be synchronized to the backup.
Does the primary distributed worker thread continue to start sending the update to the backup? Or it's the primary distributed service thread to start sending the update to the backup?
On the backup side, is it the backup distributed service thread updating the backup cache? Or the backup distributed service thread delegate to a backup distributed worker thread to update the backup cache?
There are some concerns about if it's the distributed service thread participating the synchronization which might cause bottleneck given it is single thread.
    Thanks in advance.

When you do a SELECT ... FOR UPDATE, Oracle locks each row that is returned by the SELECT. The mechanics of locking in Oracle is that the lock bit is actually stored in the row, rather than being centralized in the v$lock table. This allows Oracle to be very scalable and prevents you from worrying about things like lock escalation, but it makes it hard for individual DBA's and developer's to know what rows are locked.

  • How does BDB update its secondary index?

I am asking how does Berkeley DB update its secondary index?
For example, in a BDB table with key value pair ``<k,v1>``, the index database would have reversed pair like ``<v1,k>``. Upon an insert (or essentially an update) ``<k,v2>``, base table record ``<k,v1>`` should be overwritten to ``<k,v2>``.
But how would BDB deal with ``<v1,k>`` in the index table? Will it delete it immediately?

    Hi,
As long as you correctly open the primary database and secondary index database, and associate the secondary index database with the primary, any update on the primary database will be reflected in the secondary index.
For more information, please refer to Reference Guide for Berkeley DB -> Chapter 3.  Access Method Operations -> Secondary Indexes section.

  • How does one get notification of weekly 99 cent movie rental?

I've seen a number of news items saying that customer are being notified via email about a new 99 cent weekly movie rental. I get the iTunes music newsletter every Tuesday, but I see nothing about movies in it. Is there another newsletter for movies, and if so how does one subscribe to it?
    Thanks.

Well, last week I saw one movie at this price too, so it didn't start yesterday...

  • How does CLOSED_CODE updated in PO_LINES_ARCHIVE_ALL table

    Hi,
How does CLOSED_CODE column will be updated in PO_LINES_ARCHIVE_ALL table. We have setup "Archive On Approve" for archiving.
Does below is a valid check to verify the line count between lines table and archive table?
We are comparing the line count in Lines table and Archive table, and if there is difference in count, then it is assumed to be change in the Lines,
so then direct the PO Approval Worfkflow for re-approval.
Kindly suggest if below check is correct or not, especially check on CLOSED_CODE='OPEN'.
In few cases, the lines in PO_LINES_ALL table has CLOSED_CODE = 'CLOSED' but, PO_LINES_ARCHIVE_ALL table has lines with CLOSED_CODE = 'OPEN' even after PO approval.
Is this expected behavior? When Does CLOSED_CODE will get updated in archive table?
    SELECT COUNT(*)
             INTO x_lines_count
             FROM po_lines_all
            WHERE closed_code = 'OPEN'

  • Firefox update installs, but does not apprearon screen, or task manger yet is running what is going on and how does one fix it?

I installed the update Mozilla Firefox 28. It was suppose to launch upon completion. it did not appear on the monitor screen, nor the task manager, but was running; for when I attempted to install the older version again it, it said that Firefox was running and needed to be turned off.
I restarted the computer and tried opening Firefox, with the same results.
After restarting again, I attempted to reinstall the update, with the same results taking place.
I attempted to uninstall Firefox and install the new version. The same results took place.
In the past, I could install Firefox 27 update, only now I can't for the same thing takes place. Past a certain version (19), this event takes place, but 19 and older can install it with no problems.
I checked Firefox troubleshooting information. All was normal. I checked my firewall. Again, all was normal. Tried Firefox reset. Did not help. Tried with my firewall disabled. Did not solve the problem.
Ran a virus check (deep) no viruses. Checked my computer system. No errors.
I can install updates for my other programs, even install new programs; just not Firefox.
What is going on and how does one fix it.

    Hi Amseeking,
Thank you for your question. From your description, you tried to install the 28 update from a version 19 installation. Did you install a fresh install of 28 successfully? Where the name of the file is"Firefox Setup Stub 28.exe"? This is what is sound like happened. When going to about Firefox and searching for updates it installs over the current installation. However if Firefox was already running, there are more than one installation.
Updating from version 19 to 28 would not be a problem. However the user data from your previous version would have to be imported to the new installation if you have more than one install on that computer.
An easy way to tell is to search for Firefox in the Start menu to see if more than one icon shows up in the search results.
    I hope this helps.

  • What has caused an app I purchased (Family Tree Maker for Mac) and currently have installed, to disappear from the Mac Store. Does this mean it is no longer sold?  If so, how will I get update notices or re-download if needed?

I purchased and installed Family Tree Maker for Mac from the App Store about 6 months ago.  I heard that possibly a new version was coming, though I had not received any update notice.  I went to the App Store and it no longer shows the app, either as available for purchase or as an app I have previously purchased.  So I can't get any information on the app, support, etc..  How can an app I have purchased disappear from the purchased list???  How can I get update information or support links? (contacted FTM website and phone support and they said if I bought my program from App store, I have to get update information there).....the Update Info button in my program is actually greyed out!!  So the program I bought doesn't even have the normal update link!!  I thought one of the advantages of App Store purchase was being able to redownload the program in the unlikely event it was lost....ie: no need to worry about having the install CD.  So now I only have my installed, operating copy and no way to reinstall if it crashes due to corrupt data, etc.!!  Not a happy result from an App Store purchase!  And I must say the circular references in the support link are frustarting...apparently there is NO live support for the App Store itself!

Thanks for THAT tip: iTunes acct. history DOES show my (few) Mac app purchases, buried in with my MANY iPhone and iPad apps!  So I CAN prove I bought it (7 months ago, not 6), but you wouldn't know it from the App Store app on my Mac!  But that does leave a few other ?'s hanging: like how could I download it again, or check for updates (as I said, the version installed has the "update" button greyed out!  Ancestry.com (who sells it online and support it for other buyers said update info for App Store purchasers comes through the App Store.
I may just be out of luck with this because after 7 months of ownership, they (Ancestry) just replaced FTM with a new version (Family Tree Maker for Mac2) that is NOT an upgrade (though prior owners get $4.00 off on a $52.00 purchase!!).  I'll probably just plump for that....direct from Ancestry.com...and give up on the Mac App Store, because the new version reportedly has major enhancements in sync-ing your family history record between your computer and the cloud program available online.  Genealogy software, like everything else is migrating to the cloud, but one really does need a resident program on their device because you're often collecting data "in the field" in libraries, historical archives, cemeteries, etc. where you really can't get online in many cases.  Fortunately, more and more of the source data is coming online, so more and more can be done from home!
