How does amount of fixes affect perfomance (BIG TEXT, carefully)

I must fix 9 dimension BUT 7 of are common for 6 different pairs of member of sparse dimensions, question is what type of fix scheme would work faster and how much faster?

Doesn't look like fixing these many times would help the cause.
I would suggest go for a base line fix with 7 dimensions which are fixed. For the rest two, go with multiple IF statements.

  • How does APEX check for null values in Text Fields on the forms?

    Hello all,
    How does APEX check for null values in Text Fields on the forms? This might sound trivial but I have a problem with a PL/SQL Validation that I have written.
    I have one select list (P108_CLUSTER_ID) and one Text field (P108_PRIVATE_IP). I made P108_CLUSTER_ID to return null value when nothing is selected and assumed P108_PRIVATE_IP to return null value too when nothign is entered in the text field.
    All that I need is to validate if P108_PRIVATE_IP is entered when a P108_CLUSTER_ID is selected. i.e it is mandatory to enter Private IP when a cluster is seelcted and following is my Pl/SQL code
    Declare
    v_valid boolean;
    Begin
    IF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NULL THEN
    v_valid := TRUE;
    ELSIF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NOT NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NOT NULL THEN
    v_valid := TRUE;
    ELSIF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NOT NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NULL THEN
    v_valid := FALSE;
    ELSIF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NOT NULL THEN
    v_valid := FALSE;
    END IF;
    return v_valid;
    END;
    My problem is it is returning FALSE for all the cases.It works fine in SQL Command though..When I tried to Debug and use Firebug, I found that Text fields are not stored a null by default but as empty strings "" . Now I tried modifying my PL/SQL to check Private_IP against an empty string. But doesn't help. Can someone please tell me how I need to proceed.
    Thanks

    See SQL report for LIKE SEARCH I have just explained how Select list return value works..

  • How does iTunes volume control affect digital output?

    I'm using iTunes on a Mini with an external USB DAC. The volume control and equalizer inside iTunes affects the volume so it must be processing the digital data in some fashion.
    It doesn't appear you can disable the volume control so how do I know what, if any volume setting outputs a digital stream that has not been processed by iTunes?

  • I bought LR 5 on Oct 16, 2014. I just tried to export photos with watermark and it wont work. After reading tutorials and following directions, only a few photos out of 100 show up with watermark, but not everytime. Is this a bug and how does it get fixed

    I bought LR 5 Oct 16 this year. Why doesn't my watermark work when I export photos? I followed tutorials and still it does not work. Once, a few photos out of about 100 exported with the watermark, but only once. Is this a bug? how to fix?  Also, how to I get rid of unwanted presents?

    Are you exporting as JPG or TIFF or PSD?
    Any other format (including "Original") will not show a watermark.

  • How does Walmart Family Mobile affect AT

    My husband and I just unlocked our (AT&T) iPhones and were planning on signing up for the Walmart Family Mobile plan. Then I realized my whole family is still on AT&T and I spend the majority of my minutes/data talking/texting them.
    So my mom pointed out, how will this affect them? They also have iphones, but as we've used family/friends AT&T plan for years, does anyone know if THEY will get charged for minutes or texts, pictures etc.? They have the most basic data and text plans and something like 500 minutes.
    Because we all have iPhones and can use imessage for most things, does anyone know if this would affect them? I wouldn't want them to get charged for calls or incoming texts/pics just because we switched.
    FYI, they're considering switching to WFM too, but they still have several months before they can unlock.

  • How does PrE 9 fix audio levels automatically?

    Hi,
    In one of my projects, I'm combining multiple pieces of footage with different audio levels. I've read somewhere that PrE 9 fixes audio levels automatically. How do I use this? Where is this feature in the app?
    Thanks,
    Sam

    The main thing I want is to make sure that audio level is too high for one footage and then too low on the other. At the end, all the clips are put together to produce a single video and I want the audio to be consistent throughout the video.
    Would I then select all the clips and do what you're suggesting? Do I do this one clip at a time or do I select all at once -- not sure how to do it?
    Thanks,
    Sam

  • How does the builtin webcam affect sound???

    I have a problem with my builtin webcam when making a voice calls by skype or yahoo messenger or any other program. The sound is clear till the camera turned off. But when I am turning it on my interlocutor (different people from different computers) starts to hear some weird noises and it continues till my camera is on. As for me I don't hear nothing strange. Perfect picture and sound. I've tested my microphone - it works perfectly fine, the camera itself is working good also. I have a Toshiba A355D-S6930 Satellite, runs Windows 7 Ultimate, all latest updates, no viruses. Also I've tried to update my web camera drivers but the system says that I have the latest updates. So what is it and mainly how can I fix the problem? Please help
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding, but as you were still asking "where can I find drivers for my builin camera and microphone (I guess it will be deleted after I change the operative system)?" I thought you didn't understand about the downloads link.
    With regard to your 'legal' Vista copy. Yes, you should own a legal Vista license. But, if you are getting some message that you do not have a "genuine version" of Windows, you should be able to fix this. Look on the bottom of your laptop and there should be a genuine Windows Vista sticker with a product key on it, carefully write down this number. Then, go to this article, click on the 'Windows Vista' tab, and follow the instructions there to input the product key you got from the bottom of your computer.
    Update your Windows product key
    Next, make sure whether you have installed Vista SP2. Click on start and type in   msinfo32.exe   and click on this file.  The top 2 lines should show the OS Name and Version. If you do not have Vista SP2, you need to install this to continue to get Windows Updates.  If you do not have SP2, go here, download this file, and double click to install it.
    Windows Vista SP2
    Never let Windows update change any of your Toshiba supplied hardware drivers.
    Toshiba, and most laptop makers, has not supplied recovery disks with their computers for some time. But, there is a Recovery Parition on your hard drive, if it has not been corrupted or deleted. The information about the Recovery Utility, running it from your hard drive, and creating a set of recovery disks, starts on page 61 of your Satellite A350 Series User Guide.
    Good luck.

  • How does the Dual Core affect your electric bill?

    ok, maybe an unusual question, but for us folks here in europe - the land of extreme energy costs - the issue of power consumption is relevant. after i got an iMac G5 i noticed that my energy bill went up significantly from when i had my old G4 desktop running. granted, i have been getting more work
    now i am about to pick up a porsche - err, dual core G5 system - and wondered if there was a way to find out. the tech specs do not indicate how many watts the units draw under load. is there any way to find out? does anyone have any info?

    Dual cores consume less electricity than dual processors as witnessed by the fact that the present dual core PowerMacs have air cooling.

  • How does a global variable affect the runtime of optimisation-function fminsearch?

    Hi,
    my function "fmintest" needs 254s ~ 4min to finish calculation in Mathscript, while Matlab needs
    3s!!! I need the sorfware for data processing in a real time measuring system, where the calculation have to be done within 5 seconds.
    In the Mathscript-help I found the following (global -> details):
    If you call this function from a MathScript Node, LabVIEW operates with slower
    run-time performance for the MathScript Node. To optimize the performance of the
    MathScript Node, remove this function from scripts.
    How can I remove needed global variables in the fminsearch function handle? Is the system faster if I would/can remove the global variables?
    How can I avoid Mathscript-breakdown after saving changes to m-files and restarting them again?

    Hi,
    can you provid a VI and not only your m-files? It will be easier to help you!
    Can the customer provide a VI that demonstrates this behavior, rather than just providing the m files?
    Also, the Help file says fminsearch is not supported by the
    LabVIEW Run Time engine, so please take that in mind. If you want to build an application you cant use this function.

  • My Norton 360 won't work with V4.0, I refuse to use it without anti virus, short of going back to IE, How does this get fixed! All my secured logg in pass words are gone as well as finger print recognition...... I think V4 SUCKS!!!!!! I don't want it!

    Theres no security that "I" want to control that will work with version 4! And why would I want to have to cross over all my book marked pages to get to my open pages??? What idiot thought of that? Or does FF intententionally want you to click your book marks and not have your own protection so they can start tracking you and selling info like Google???? No thanks Mozilla, You blew it with this upgrade.... Back to IE

  • How does db_rep_heartbeat_send (and ~_monitor) affect overall throughput?

    Dear experts,
    I'm testing performance of BerkeleyDb 11gR2 replication using replication manager example code(ex_rep_mgr).
    I slightly modified "rep_common.c" and "rep_mgr.c" to do 'put' repeatedly.
    And I measured elapse time for several iterations.
    Strangely, when I used following (as original rep_mgr example has)
    DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_SEND = 1000000
    DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_MONITOR = 10000000
    I got very poor performance. (25 transactions per sec.)
    But I reduced the value of DB_REP_HEARTBEAT_SEND to 500000, I got more performance.
    (650~700 txn per sec)
    I configured BerkeleyDb as in-memory. (didn't specified db filename, put log in memory and so on)
    1 Master and 1 Client.
    And ack_policy was DB_REPMGR_ACKS_ONE
    1 txn was inserting 5 rows to table with an 'int-typed' key and 100 bytes-length of value.
    I'm curious to know the relation of heartbeat mechanism and throughput.
    How can I set heartbeat related parameters for maximum throughput?
    I turned off those parameters by setting '0', but result was not good.
    Any comment would be very appreciated.
    Thank you.

    I'm using Ubuntu.
    (Linux 2.6.22-15-generic #1 SMP Tue Oct 21 23:47:12 GMT 2008 i686 GNU/Linux)
    and Berkeley DB 11gR2 5.0.21
    And both master and client process runs in a same machine as follows
    $ ex_rep_mgr -M -h DIR1 -l localhost:6000 -n 2 -p 100 -v
    $ ex_rep_mgr -C -h DIR2 -l localhost:6001 -r localhost:6000 -n 2 -p 200 -v

The text scroll on the index (home) page is invisible when viewed on Mozilla...but visible with internet Explorer. Intuit said its a Mozilla issue. I am concerned because so many people who use Mozilla will not be able to see the scroll. Help!! BTW, the image scroll on another page on the site (Design A La Carte) is visible on Mozilla and IE.

  • How does the latest update affect apple t.v.

    I read specs on latest iTunes update and there was a mention of new wireless sharing of photos. Nothing looks different on apple tv-can anyone shed light on this?

    Photo streaming is now a feature for the tv. Previously all you were able to do was sync photos from the primary source. If you have more than one itunes library registered with the tv you will now notice photos are available from all your sources. If you have only one itunes library registered to the tv then not a lot as changed except you will notice photos are now available both from the source 'tv" and "My itunes Library"

  • How does a corrupted file affect the vault update?

    If I would have updated the vault after the files got corrupted, wouldn't the corruption get updated as well? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose?

    I believe it's meant to only copy files that it knows have changed.
    I.e. old masters wouldn't get re-copied, but version updates, metadata changes, new imported masters would.
