How does an enhancement of datasource affect my production data

Hello All,
We have enhanced a datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM, I want to know what will happen to my existing data in the production after i move the enanced datasource to production???
will i need to clear the existing data in production after moving the same to another dummy cube O r will just running the deltas bring in the data for the enhanced fields as well without disturbing the existing data...
Please respond. The issue is very critical..

Hi,
For all the historical data that already exists in your BI system, the data for the enhanced fields will not be populated but deltas would work absolutely fine and for all the new transactional changes, these fields will be filled. If you want to populate the data for historical data as well, you will have to carry out fill up of setup tables and reload the data to BI by initialising the data. If the data is being fed to DSO, I dont think that there is any need for deleting the data, as it would get overwritten by the new initialisation load.
As such, please note that deltas will not get triggered if the only changes to Sales Order are for enhanced fields. Deltas will only be captured for the fields that are part of main communication structure. The motive for adding the enhaned fields is only to bring information for these fields.

  • How does Index fragmentation and statistics affect the sql query performance

    Hi,
How does Index fragmentation and statistics affect the sql query performance

How does Index fragmentation and statistics affect the sql query performance
Very simple answer, outdated statistics will lead optimizer to create bad plans which in turn will require more resources and this will impact performance. If index is fragmented ( mainly clustered index, holds true for Non clustred as well) time spent in finding
the value will be more as query would have to search fragmented index to look for data, additional spaces will increase search time.

  • HT5467 How does my iOs6 iPad get the location services data from my personal WiFi net?

How does Apple determine my current location of my iPad WiFi only by the location of the WiFi net (my house net)? How is the location of my private WiFi net sent to the Apple Database? Is the information obtained from the router?

The location information comes from GPS equipped devices like iPhones seeing your router and it's MAC address and sending the router location to Apple for inclusion in their database of router locations.

  • How does changing an internet provider affect the wireless network

If I have a wireless network set up with the Linksys E1000 using one internet provider and then change the internet provider service to someone else, do I have to reset up the network or is it simply a matter of connecting the new internet service to the router?

It affects your network setting, I changed the provider, now is AT&T, they "don't support 3rd party routers".
I followed their instructions to change their modem settings to "bridge", the router still doesn't work, have turned off modem and router, still doesn't work.
Had to return to the other modem since I have not disconnected it yet.
Already checked that the IP address of the computer and new modem are similar as recommeded by AT& T, still can't make things work.Frustrating !!

  • How does upgrading to Mt. Lion affect older pages docs?

I made documents with Leopard... then I upgraded to Mt.Lion...  now I cannot revise those earlier text documents in pages...  I feel like my docs are stone!!!

I had no problems at all opening the file on my iMac running Pages 4.2 in Mountain Lion or my Mac mini running Pages 4.0.4 in Snow Leopard.
How are you trying to open it? From File > Open, double-clicking the file in Finder (what I did) or dragging the file to the Pages icon in the Dock?
Sometimes when updating/upgrading preference files get corrupted. Back in the days of AppleWorks many of us routinely suggested the preference files be deleted & it cured a lot of problems. So, it's an easy thing to try. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file & then restart Pages. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list. Then restart Pages.

  • How does a damaged power cord affect a MacBook pro?

My puppy chewed my power cord this a.m. The Mac told me to reset the time and date and then said that I had lost connection to the Internet..is this possible with a damaged cord?

Regardless of what else is going on, you need to replace your damaged AC adapter immediately, rather than continue trying to use it. If problems persist after you get a new adapter, then we can try to help you solve them.
Keep your puppy and your computer separated.

    hi eileen,
go to transactio rso2  in your source system ie r/3.
there u have three three fields for transaction data

  • Interactive Report - How does it build the where claue when filtering data?

I am curious how APEX builds the where clause when users add filters or does APEX simply filter the data?
The reason I am asking, is for performance reasons, we have used inner selects to retrieve columns vs. using outer joins. However, I am just curious if we will suffer doing so when users add filters on these columns.
Below are some details about our report:
We have a report where we are joining many tables (25 tables) together. Initially, we created the report with outer joins and noticed that the cost of the explain plan was 2600 and the performance was marginal. We then started to remove the outer joins and replacing with inner selects and the cost and performance of the report improved. Currently, we have replaced 13 of the outer joins with inner selects and the cost is down to 650 and the performance is better.
    Below are examples:
    -- Using Outer Joins
    Select q.quote_id, q.quote_name, l.location_name, sr.sales_rep_name
    from quote q, location l, sales_rep sr
    where q.location_id = l.loation_id
    and q.sales_rep_id = sr.sales_rep_id
    -- Using Inner Selects
    Select q.quote_id, q.quote_name,
    (select location_name from location where location_id = q.location_id) location_name,
    (select sales_rep_name from sales_rep where sales_rep_id = q.sales_rep_id) sales_rep_name
    from quote q
    Just curious,
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi -
If you switch on debug in Apex developer toolbar you can see the effect of user built filters on the sql that is actually executed for report.
    Good luck.

  • How does my system compare to more up to date systems?

I was just curious as to how you experts feel my system compares to what is out there now?
Is my system obsolete already or does it still have a few years of life left?
Would an additional 512 MB of RAM help much or not?
    Thanks

I went back and found this thread because my computer kept shutting down tonight and I thought it was the PS at first. Then I pulled it out and looked at the Mobo and saw that the CPU fan was not spinning.
It was hot on the heatsink too.
So I found this thread and got the name of this cooler and went out to Fry's Electronics and bought me a Silent Boost.
Now I am up and running again.......hopefully.

  • How does one use Storeit Link to import bulk data on an ipod and how can I use the browser on my PC to connect to the ipod

I have purchased StoreIt (and also SQLite Console) for my iPod but it is not clear to me how to import a CSV file into a StoreIt "category", after reading and rereading the documentation at http://www.database4iphone.com/faq/import-text-file-into-storeit/. Can anyone explain this, please?

I figured it out: According to the message I got when pressing the circular arrow icon, I should use the URL http://192.168.1.6:54726 in the browser and import (or use other functions) while the screen is displayed on the iPod.

  • How does the query decide which Infoprovider to fetch data from

    Hi,
Could somebody please explain what steps go on in background to enable the query to decide which Infoproviders it should fetch data from in a multiprovider.Assuming that in the multprovider we have some  infocubes that  are logically partitioned by Fiscal Year  and other cubes that are not.
    Thanks VK..

Does the RRKMULTIPROVHINT technique work in case of a multiprovider that is not homogenous... Also in case there are 5 infocubes, does the select query run on fact table of all infocubes or are select queries run initially on the dimension tables and based upon which infocube has the required data for the query the fact table is queried..
    Thanks

  • How does Twitter contacts autocomplete work on Apple products?

I've used Twitter integration in OS X and iOS for some time and have been boggled by which Twitter contacts it seems to know/not know when it does that 'autocomplete' thing. I'd have hoped it would grab/know all of my personal followers/followees from my Twitter account, or at the very LEAST remember people I've tweeted the most/recently, but it doesn't seem to be that way... More often than not, people I tweet regularly aren't included but some contacts I hardly know are remembered, and in some cases it even brings up contacts I don't even recognise....
Is there any rhyme/reason to it?

  • How does BerkeleyDB know when cached results from stat function are valid ?

Something curious: I have a berkeley database about 2G in size and a program that (1) opens the database, not DB_RDONLY; (2) calls stat(), without DB_FAST_STAT; (3) calls sync(); (4) calls close().
Running this program the first time takes a good amount of time in the stat() function - 20 minutes at least - and thrashes the disk all that time. So it's trawling the database to get record counts etc.
Running the program again takes only a few seconds so clearly the database is caching those stats and knows they're up to date - makes sense.
What's odd though is why the stats weren't known to be up to date on the first run. The database was actually copied from another box where the last thing to happen was a run of the same program. So it should have had up-to-date stats cached in it.
It's as if the cached values are somehow invalidated by moving the database to another machine. Why would that happen ? Where are the cached stats held and how does berekelyDB decide when they're up to date ?

I still cannot solve this problem, but I have some more observations:
    1) yes it is a JApplet, and yes, the data streaming is performed in a separate thread.
    2) Wireshark sniffing shows that data sent out by the PHP datasource on the server is sent immediately, and is not buffered (am using ob_start(), ob_flush() and flush() alls in the PHP script).
    3) On Windows Vista, using Internet Explorer or Firefox, there is a constant 30 second delay before the Applet returns from this line: InputStream is = url.openStream();
    4) After this 30 seconds, data appears in the Applet, but it can be seen also with java console debug prints that the data seems to be buffered. The newest data shown in the Applet is not the newest data sent to the client by the PHP datasource script.
    5) On a SUSE Linux client, the Applet works as it should, there is no delay time in showing the data.
It appears as if there is on Windows a buffering of data which I do not wish to have and which does not occur on Linux. I need to find out how to get the URL openStream() call to return immediately allowing the initial data to be read and shown on the Applet. And I need to remove the buffering of data so that the data can be shown on the Applet when it arrives.
Can anyone help? Why does this work on Linux but not on Windows, and what can I do, at best within the Java code, to get the Applet to work on Windows as it does on Linux?
    Thanks!
    Steve, Denmark
