How does BC record abandoned carts

Does anyone have any info on how BC records abandoned carts?
My client seems to think that they checked a report for a particular date range and there was $x of abandoned carts and then checked the same date range a few days later an the value was less than it had been.
The date range was for the previous week so it was not a current date range.
Is this something that is possible or are they perhaps a little confused and made a mistake?
It would be helpful for me to be able to tell them how exactly a cart is decided to be abandoned and if it is possible for a user to return and unabandon a cart?

I have just submitted a support ticket due to the following situation with a client's Abandoned Sales Report results...
I have run the Abandoned Sales Custom eCommerce report over previous 3 months on this client - looking at results produced - if report is run by Orders as opposed to being run by Amount it gives 2 entirely different stories. The image below shows the summary results of data exported and extracted and clearly shows that sum of abandoned sales by 'Orders' for the period is $36,970.25 yet BC abandoned sales report results by 'Amount' gives a total of $73,417.95
I am at a loss to explain these differences to the client so will await what support have to say especially in light of comment above about this reort having a supposedly known bug... How long has that been around?

What errors are you getting with this? From experience you don't need a loop to put the records into the ref cursor its usually done on block.

How does jdbc fetch a set of records in oracle

Oracle does not support server side cursors,if so how does jdbc fetch a set of records(set by setFetchSize(), which is 10 by default) each time I say rs.next().Does this mean Query is re-executed to fetch the next set of records? Can some body throw some light on this?

You are asking about implementation details of some JDBC driver, but you don't say which one. This makes it very difficult to answer your question. You might want to try asking the question of the people who wrote the driver.

You need to do a long-press in any data entry field, then select Paste.

I have tried all sorts of ways of adding my personal M4R file but can't find the place (within the UK versions of iTunes} to transfer this file so that I can select it as a ring tone.
I've tried also changing to the US version of iTunes and still can't find a way of doing it, although I have heard that it can be done.

You should be able to just drop it into the library within iTunes.

Outbound Dialer records to cache. how does it work?????

Im confused, on the campaign manager one of the settings for the campaigns is
Records to cache. The Outbound guide says that this is "the minimum number of dialing numbers
that each dialer caches for each of your outbound option skill groups. Default is 100"
how often does it cache?
how does this work?
Lets says I have an agent campaign mode:Predictive_Blended,
Records to cache: 1, everything else default.
My Admin script is set to cycle every 1 minute.
does this mean that 1 record get cached every minute?

From what I have seen it is the number of records that the dialer fetches from the database at any given moment. The dialer cahches these records and dials them. As soon as it exausts then it fetches more.

If you have to determine a vendor, the minimum requirement is Info record. Beyond that, you can ofcourse maintain Source Lists, Quota Arrangements but Info record is bare minimum for automatic determination of vendor.
Otherwise, you have to maintain the vendor manually in th Purchasing docs.
Tcodes for Info record are ME11, ME12, and ME13.

yes i accept that in SRM also workflows are all started by event...what i mean is in R/3 we go for Change document object(swec) or some other method for event creation...like that in SRM what is there?Just whenwe create a Shopping cart How the workflow is trigerred...suppose if it is trigerred using fm swe_event_create where they might have called the function module.

How do I find out where a wrk record is getting its information from? If a field is using a work record, does it mean that info is being provided by the user as a parameter? I dont' quite understand how a work record works

The record is usually populated with PeopleCode or possibly through the record definition. It contains calculated or generated values not stored on the database used for either display to the user or as work fields (variables) available within the buffer for processing.
The structure does not represent a table or view within the database - it's a tools only incarnation.
Some of the more complicated pages use derived fields as input fields, only transferring the value to real table fields using SavePreChange PeopleCode.
Derived tables are also used as STATE records in Application Engine programs, which are the same as variables to pass values from one step to the next.

When using FMLE how does the DVR auto record functionality work?

Im using FMLE to send a live stream to my FMS. I check marked DVR Auto Record on it. But I am uncertain if its recording, for how long its recording, and whether I can control this functionality though my FLASH application. Do I edit an xml file in FMS directory to manage where the file is recorded to and for how long its recorded? Can actionscript from a FLASH app in the webroot dir access this file and play it back then return to the live stream? Has anyone found a tutorial on these matters.

How does one use an external microphone with the internal camera?

I want to use the internal camera because I don't have anything better but I want to use an external mic to record video and sound simultaneously, for a video blog. How does one accomplish this? I'm getting no help from the manual.

Try this. Connect your external mic, either through the audio line in port or, into a USB port if it is a USB mic and then go to System Preferences under the Apple and select the Sound icon under Hardware. Click on your mic shown in the list of input devices.

How does CLOSED_CODE column will be updated in PO_LINES_ARCHIVE_ALL table. We have setup "Archive On Approve" for archiving.
Does below is a valid check to verify the line count between lines table and archive table?
We are comparing the line count in Lines table and Archive table, and if there is difference in count, then it is assumed to be change in the Lines,
so then direct the PO Approval Worfkflow for re-approval.
Kindly suggest if below check is correct or not, especially check on CLOSED_CODE='OPEN'.
In few cases, the lines in PO_LINES_ALL table has CLOSED_CODE = 'CLOSED' but, PO_LINES_ARCHIVE_ALL table has lines with CLOSED_CODE = 'OPEN' even after PO approval.
Is this expected behavior? When Does CLOSED_CODE will get updated in archive table?

I'm not sure it is possible to get the PL/SQL record type through JDBC. Please try to access this procedure through JDBC to see if it is possible.
You may need to convert the record type, to an object-type, i.e. wrap the procedure in another procedure that converts the record type. You could also just wrap the procedure in another that expands the record values into individual output parameters.

     there is a case as following:
if the condition type in the pricing analysis says in a billing document that the condition is found and set, and one is using the condition requirement number 024 (which only determines the price in billing document) yet still has to do new pricing in order to obtain the condition record, Should the condition category be blank, the system would propose the message condition is found and set but does not provide an actual condition record.
   the fault would be that the condition category on the condition type should be equal to L.
   so my question is " how does condition category affect the price procedure" ? thanks very much!

How does DB Operation takes place

I have a question in the DB Operation of Select.
Scenario:
    I have a SELECT Query on a table which runs for around 1 hour.
    After the select process is started at the 30th Minute there is an UPDATE Statement being fired on that table and committed.
    Now when the SELECT Query completes execution after 1 hour and returns the result, will it display the OLD Value of the record or the NEW Updated Value of the record.
My assumption is that when the SELECT query is fired it will fetch the data from DATA SEGMENTS and store it in the SGA Buffer Memory and then return the result.
When the Update statement fires it will update the data in the DATA SEGMENT. (more over i believe that the physical location of that record in data block would get changed during a UPDATE)
So when the SELECT statement completes execution it will take the data stored in SGA buffer and return the result.
Please confirm what is the correct answer. How does Oracle Architecture handles this.

You can have this problem if you don't write good application.
The way to avoid this problem it's also mentioned in the page I have posted:
Oracle Database maintains data consistency by using a multiversion consistency model and various types of locks and transactions. In this way, the database can present a view of data to multiple concurrent users, with each view consistent to a point in time. Because different versions of data blocks can exist simultaneously, transactions can read the version of data committed at the point in time required by a query and return results that are consistent to a single point in time.
Let's say that you in your application you have a product list and you have an edit button beside each product. If you want to prevent other users to make a change until your transaction is completed you can lock the row when you enter into edit mode (i.e. SELECT FOR UPDATE) and release the lock (with commit or rollback) when the transaction is completed or cancelled.
This will ensure that the row cannot be updated by other transactions.
