How does DW 8 display divs in "design Mode"?

Hi everyone,
Question: How does DW 8 display divs in the design window?
I ask this because I am trying to create a website entirely
in divs (with divs inside divs), and when I see certain things in
my "design mode", some divs show up directly underneath. Example: I
have #cellA and #cellB. I want #cellA right next to #cellB inside
of a #container. Instead, when I try to insert a Div tag (after end
of tag) it places it right underneath it. So #cellB is right under
#cellA, when all I want is for them to be side by side.

Is there a screen mode that I am not aware of?
How do you guys look at how your divs are being displayed in
the "design view" of dreamweaver.
I have also just gone into the code and tried placing my divs
there, but to no avail..
Anyone have the same problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want divs side-by-side, you must float them.

Webfont not displaying properly in design mode or appearing in font list

Just updated Muse and now my heading webfont (Nunito) is not displaying properly in design mode or appearing in the font list. It is, however, displaying properly in preview mode. When I try and delete the font and then add it again I get an error message that says the font can't be added. Any idea what's going on?

Please try the steps below. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
1. Close Muse
2. Rename the folders named tk1 and tk2 in the following locations
On Windows: %appdata%\com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.2\Local Store. You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.2/Local Store. You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog (Shift+Command+G)
3. Launch Muse and add the font again

I'm having exactly the same problem as Kitcarhans just as of now, with the same font (Lato).
I tried to follow Abhishek's recommended steps, but they are unclear to me, and in any case, didn't have any effect.

Not sure what this step is instructing me to do; rename them to what new name? Any? The same?

The font was never removed… was it supposed to have been? Well, in any case, I tried removing and then re-adding, but no effect there either…
Could you clarify these instructions for me, or if they don't apply to the current problem, advise? The two websites I'm working on now both use Lato, so I can't do much of anything until I solve this problem…

Why is the character style for hyperlinks not displaying correctly in design mode/viewing/output?

I am using RH9 and generating WebHelp, and I needed to globally bump up the font size of just my hyperlinked text. I went into my Style Sheet > Character tab, changed the font size of the various character settings for hyperlinks, and clicked Apply and then OK. Normally, this would change all of my hyperlink text font sizes immediately across all of my topics. However, this time, it made no changes to any existing hyperlinked text, and it only affected new hyperlinks that I subsequently added. For the existing hyperlinks, I can only manually change the font size of the each hyperlink one at a time, but that's crazy (there's 100's in this help).
I can successfully change other characters styles and paragraph styles. This issue only affects the hyperlink character styles. It also shows up in all RH modes - Design mode, viewing, and in the final output.
Is this an indication of a corrupted style sheet or some other combination of events that I have yet to discover?

You probably have inline styling in your project overwriting the font size of your style sheet. How are you changing the font size of the individual hyperlinks?
There is a workaround for inline styling: Open your CSS in notepad and add !important after the font-size:
font-size: 4pt !important;
Note that this is a workaround, not a solution. As a solutions you can remove all the style attributes from your hyperlinks to force them to take the CSS styling again.

How to hide currency ($) display in Report Designer

My query has amounts in keyfigure structure. When I use WAD or run directly from the query the display of $ sign is showing only on the top row, but when I use the same query in the report designer the $ is showing on every cell. How to avoid displaying the $ in RD.

Create a formula and use the function NODIM(<your KF>) and hide you KF column which shows the $ sign. This would suppress the $ sign.

How does Dreamweaver CS4 work with CS3 Design Suite?

I am looking to purchase Dreamweaver on my computer however I currently have the CS3 versions of Photoshop and Illustrator installed on my computer. Will the DW CS4 version work if the rest of my Design Suite is CS3 or should I look to purchase CS3 if available? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dreamweaver 3 will open a file in Photoshop, so DW CS4 should do the same. I think you might have problems with Adobe's Bridge. And it's possible that DW CS4 might decide that previous versions of Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop or Illustrator are not supported. So workflows may be a little more disjointed.
So the real question will be: Do the advantages of DW CS4 outweigh possible hurdles in workflow?
I will frequently open and replace graphic images using Photoshop without Dreamweaver open and, when I open the website, everything falls into place. I did that for a number of color changes and I worked exclusively in Photoshop for the first part of my day, replacing colors that were designed to be part of the website with the client's specific pick. I tend to save graphics as .PSD files and then use Photoshop's Export to Web and in CS3, Photoshop will remember two different paths for a Save (PSD) and a Save to Web.

Have tried every option in View/Visual Aids--to no avail.

Without seeing your code, it's impossible to know for sure. But it looks like you may have styled those elements with borders.

Bug: HTML table row with id on design mode does not display properly

JDeveloper studio edition version 10.1.3.3.0.4157
Created a very simple JSP file, which has a table of 3 rows, 3 columns.
Added id attr to second row, JDeveloper does not recognize the row in Design mode. See sample code below.

You need to copy and paste the above code in the body of your editor window and the css styles will start to work again.
Please note this is a rough check only so you need to see if the closing div tag is in the right place.

How to adjust fields display width?

work in jdev 11.1.2.3.
in the form VISUAL DESIGNER, all fields looks same length, and there is no width attributes to adjust. When it runs, some fields display too long.

You dont need to redo it again , unless you have changed properties after initial drag and drop.
If you have changed , use the value #{bindings.yourAttribute.hints.displayWidth} for columns property.

Text Not Displaying in Design Mode

About mid-way through creating my first Muse website, the body text of my pages quit being displayed while in Design mode. The text boxes are all still there and I can select the text, change the text, etc. but can't see what I am doing. When I hit the Underline button, just the line is displayed. When I preview the page as well as post the site, the text is fine. I am just using Arial font and my text is white on a black background. I have tried changing the color dozens of times as well as bringing it to the front, adding new text boxes, anything I can think of. Any ideas? Thanks!!

That's wierd.
Have you tried resetting Muse preferences. If not yet, please do so by deleting the AdobeMuse folder found at one of the below locations depending on your Operating System:
Windows 7: C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name\Application Data
Mac: /Users/your_user_name/Library/Preferences/
Relaunch Adobe Muse after removing the AdobeMuse folder from above location. Hope that helps.

Source Sans Pro not displaying in 'Design' mode

Hi
All of a sudden Source Sans Pro is not displaying in the 'Design' mode in Muse. Its still able to preview in browser correctly. But obviously I need it to display correctly within the 'Design' mode in order to design.

On Windows: %appdata%\com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.0\Local Store. You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.0/Local Store. You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog (Shift+Command+G)
For prior versions
On Windows: %appdata%\AdobeMuse\Local Store. You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/AdobeMuse/Local Store. You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog (Shift+Command+G)
3. Launch Muse and add the font again

SWC Load Error - Design Mode Problem

Hi,
I'm loading custom .swcs into my Flash Builder (4.5 Burrito) project and I get these errors. These will only appear in design mode (not in source mode) and will not be labelled under the Problems tab, rather the Design Mode Problems tab:
SWC Load Error
SWC file failed to load. Any component dependent on this SWC file will not be displayed in the Design Mode.
The SWC may have failed to load because of:
* Incompatible definitions caused by usage of a different SDK version
* Missing referred class definitions
I don't think this problem is caused by an SDK incompatibility, as all these swcs have been created under flex 4 and I'm pretty sure under the 4.5 SDK.
Loading the components contained in these swcs onto my canvas (at design time) will work fine. I'm able to build and run the application without any errors caught by flash builder.
Any idea how to fix this problem, or what it means?

SWC Load error indicates that the swc used does not match with the definitions present in design view or with what is present in already loaded other lirbaries. The issue is reported by the flash loader. It looks like that, your swc is compiled with a previous version of the sdk and the design view and the related definition correpsonds to another version.
The incompatability logic is not in DV. When DV tries to load all the swc details available in the project, the loading fails as the loader reports the issue. There is hardly anything, we can do here from DV. If the player reports the incompatability issue, the loader is corrupted and all further loading is ignored. So to avoid such issue, DV ignores the failed swc's and tries to proceed.
If you pass me the swc , I can give the details of the incompatability. Ideally between 4.5 and 4.5.1 there should not have been any incompatability. However your case shows there is. You can contact me at [email protected]

Design mode without style on screen

Testing (too) many functions into Dreamweaver 8, I now get
only a basic view on screen under DESIGN mode : images are here but
with basic font texts on a white page. Though when I view the pages
on the browsers, everything appears correctly.
Certainly, I have messed something with CSS and styles (I'm a
newbie) because on the right panel, there is only CSS styles
written (message "no CSS properties.....") but I didn't still work
with CSS.
How to get back to the normal Design mode view ?

Design Mode Selecting Issue

I have a site I am creating a dozen or so pages for. I created the first page, and something weird happened. Ever time I click anywhere in my "maincontent" div in design mode it selects the entire div. I usually use design mode to select a piece of text and then click on code mode to go quickly to that part of the code to edit it, but for some reason it selects all the content in the div. I am not having this issue with any of the div outside of "maincontent", and I have never had this problem before on any of my other sites. What is going on? This is getting very annoying already and I have only finished 2 pages.
I am running DW CS3 on Windows 7 64bit.

It's likely that you have applied an overflow:hidden style to that container. Try double clicking in it to enable editing. Or edit in Code view.
