How does Firefox 10.0.6 handle spell checking

Our users run Firefox 10.0.6 on Windows XP and some are having intermittent issues with the spell checker underlining correctly spelt words as incorrect spellings.
Closing and reopening the browser session seems to resolve but the issue returns later in the day or the following day.
I would like to know what Firefox references to perform the spell check and how this is achieved.
'Check my spelling as I type' is enabled and the default language is English/United Kingdom {
[en-gb]

You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.
At least one dictionary should be installed and have a check mark to indicate that it is selected.
*Open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one.
*Make sure that [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu is check-marked.
You can enable or disable spell checking globally:
*Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Browsing: "Check my spelling as I type"

Unless you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did enable it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

The only other ways to find it that I know of (apart from on the actual device) are via the packaging, the backup on a computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061

Thanks for your feedback - my question was probably a little vague (at best).
The ASCII characters are hidden in the barcode - they do not form part of the numeric string when scanning into a normal char field.
If I open notepad and scan I do not see the special character. If I open word and scan, I still do not see the special character but the font size changes where I know the special character exists - obviously it is a command to word.
If I open CMD DOS prompt and scan there, I CAN see the special character.
This led me to this how can I format an SAP field to behave the same way?
I've subsequently found configuration settings in the scanning device itself which allows me to swap these hidden character (called Function Codes) with actual characters of my choice. For now this is how I will have to do it. The only issue with this approach is that I have to make sure all scanners are set up properly in each country which is a bit of a pain.

How do i remove a word from spell check in OS X 10.4?

Hi all, I accidentally added a misspelled word to the spell check dictionary and i was wondering how to remove it.
I noticed there were already a few similar questions, but i could not get their solutions to work, as they were obviously using a new version of OS X.
So does anyone know how to remove a word from from spell check in OS x 10.4? or else how to reset the spell check?

OK, if you are talking about the Apple spell checker, do the following:
Open an application like TextEdit. Right click in the application window and you will get a popup. Select Spelling and then Spelling... to get a Spelling Dialog Box.
Type in the mis-spelled word in the text box and then click the Forget button. That should undo the mischief.

I see how to add other language packs to my version, so it may be that she has to look for the comparable page on her browser? If that works and she installs a language pack, how does one turn it on or off? She is a self-confessed computer illiterate, so I would like to give her precise advice.

How does the SDK and Reader handle printing with orientation?

I have a document that I want to print, and it contains a portrait page on Page 1, and a landscape page on Page 2. Acrobat Reader correctly prints these pages (with a single print job), and I'm assuming it's because of the auto-rotate option on the print dialog. Is this a feature of Reader, the API, or how the printer handles the request. I've tried printing this PDF just using the JAva API, but the orientation remain portrait for all pages. How does the Adobe Acrobat API deal with mixed orientation pages? Ignore the fact that I did my test printing with Java, because my question is whether or not the auto orientation is a feature of the UI, the SDK, or the printer (or a combination).

Same as the current Ipod Video or "Classic" there is an option under settings to toggle between original aspect ratio or Full Screen.

Most browsers check for spelling mistakes automatically. Look for the words that are flagged by red lines and right-click them to see suggestions. Note that with some browsers, you may need to download a dictionary.
I have done this

Not all locales come with a dictionary installed for licensing reasons. 
If you do not have the en-US locale then check that you have a dictionary installed (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and selected.

Also make sure that [[X]"Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu has a tick. 
You can also try to toggle the "Check Spelling" item off and on again.

How to edit the selectable languages for spell checking?

After using Firefox nightly 23 on Chakra Linux via bundle and I think it messed up my settings of the spell checker via Firefox sync.
The Problem pop up on openSUSE and Chakra Linux but not In Kubuntu 12.04(it has separate language packs).
I want to have German and English GB and maybe Bosnian or Croatian spell checker but I can not select it via right click -languages.
Now I have on both Chakra Linux and openSUSE 12.3 Firefox 20 by default maybe 30 languages installed but I can not select the language I want.
For example on Chakra Linux Firefox 20 I have only German variants selectable,German Luxenbourg,German Belgium ... and so and I can not select other language via add-on or about:config spellchecker.dictionary; it stay alwas on a German variant so I need to edit the right click language selector to bring it to work.
2.Example on openSUSE can not select German and En_GB but I can select a bunch of other languages I do not need in the right click languages selctor.
Both are Firefox 20 with openSUSE KDE modifications and have all available spell dictionary installed.
So how can I edit the list of selectable languages on the right click-languages?

Can Firefox change the language for spell-check automatically when I change my input keyboard in Windows?

I am an American, studying French and Spanish, on Windows 8.1. For typing in web forms (and in any other program), I installed Windows keyboards for French and Spanish. Windows lets me switch between keyboards easily, by either (a) an icon in the system tray, or (b) the key combo Windows Key + Space Bar.
In Firefox I installed a spell checker for French and Spanish. Very nice.
But when I switch between languages, to get the correct spell checker I have to right-click in a text field, then go to Languages and select my current language. A minor inconvenience.
It would be nice for Firefox to detect which keyboard I am using and switch to the appropriate spell checker automatically. Is it possible please?
I keep the user interface for both Windows and Firefox in English always.

I believe that you turn off that spelling feature in the individual program that you use. Go to the edit menu of the application being used and see if there is a spelling feature listed. If there isn't, it may be that this feature is an integral part of the application and is located in the preferences, and you'll find it there. This would need to be done for each program you want to use that is bothering you with auto spelling correction. I don't believe there's a general setting for autocorrect that works across programs.
